The family are not wrasslin fans so it's a tough sell, and like I say as the Mother in Law is basically treating us to this holiday the missus sees me as being rude and ungrateful by wanting to take off to Wrestlemania. I've tried using the whole it's a childhood dream to go and near the top of my bucket list etc, hasn't worked.

Doing it all in day would be ok, I mean I'm not bothered with all the other Wrestlemania stuff like the meet and greets and while it would have been nice to see NXT Takeover and the post Mania Raw I accept that I can't be away long enough to cram all that in. I would be there to see Mania and nothing else. So I could leave Florida at say 10am arriving in Jersey around 1pm giving me time to chill and grab some food before heading to the event which I assume kicks off around 5pm, maybe 4pm if you're seeing the pre-show? So it should be done by around 10-11pm meaning it would be late but I could then jump on a flight back to Florida and have a doze on the plane.

I hate to say it man, but I gotta side with your missus on this, especially if her mom is the one paying for most all of it. When WrestleMania was in Santa Clara at the 49ers stadium, I actually had the OK to go on my own from my wife, but it's just not the same on your own as it is if you're with friends/family, so I didn't end up going.

That said, Florida fucking sucks if you're not used to hot and humid.

Hogan's Beach house isn't gonna be very far from you at all, but in Orlando there's bound to be a number of places as it's a wrestling hotbed.

In all seriousness, Fletch if I were you, I'd try and shoot an e-mail to the Russlebuss and get advice from him, he lives down Louisiana way and since he started wrestling, and has even made appearances on Raw he's bound to have better info on where to go than any of us here.

If worst comes to worse, I'll bet it's not hard at all to get WWE network on the TV in your room either by some streaming service the hotel offers, or by getting an amazon firestick and watching through that.

I'll be taking my fire stick so I can hook the tv there up with the network, we're staying in a nice villa so it should be equipped with a decent telly. Even worst case I always travel with my tablet so I end up watching it on that.

I realise that jetting off to New Jersey probably isn't going to happen and yeah it is a bit rude to abandon the family even if only for 24 hours. It's just frustrating to be so close but not be able to make it, I've looked into going several times in years gone by and finances and family commitments have always been the main stumbling block so this would have been a golden opportunity which makes it all the more frustrating that it's probably coming to Florida next year, I mean if only the Mother in Law had decided to take us a year later than she did! Angry

Watching on a big screen in a bar is just a thought, I'll see what's about in the area but Hogans place is a good shout.

Travelling to Wrestlemania and attending alone wouldn't bother me, I'm fine with doing stuff alone, in fact I'd prefer it rather than dragging someone along who isn't really a fan.

Yeah I get you. I've missed a WrestleMania and the Raw after Summerslam by "this much" one where The Rock made an appearance, too and it's really a bummer. The Summerslam one really bugs me because that Monday was the first day of school, and the last several years my kids school has started on a Wednesday or Thursday, but this one year it was a Monday and had it not, we would have been able to go.

The NXT performance center is there, and I'm sure those guys, especially the trainees that aren't even yet on NXT TV programming probably have a place to go, and TBH if I weren't attending live, THAT would be the next best place to go, to watch it with the guys that couldn't attend but who may even be main eventing in 5-10 years time. No idea where that might be, but there's a very slim chance Russ might.

A long shot but I wonder if they will be running any NXT tv tapings from Full Sail while I'm there?

Well I managed to wear her down to the point of where we had a serious discussion about the logistics of how I would be able to attend Wrestlemania, sadly we've left it too late and any tickets left worth having are silly money, add to the fact the event goes on until midnight so I'd need to crash in New Jersey after and head back to Florida the following morning, all things considered it sounded exhausting and would be too expensive.

However she has promised me we can attend the next Wrestlemania announced at a location we want to visit which as things stand the earliest will be Mania 37 as we won't want to go back to Florida only 12 months later and WM37 is rumoured to be in LA which would be a cool place to holiday. She even agreed to let me also see NXT Takeover and the post Mania Raw during the trip.

Next year it's rumoured WWE will be doing a Wrestlemania level show in London so I will definitely be looking to get tickets for that.

That sounds like a win to me, honestly. With AEW coming out soon, IF they truly perform at the level people are hoping it will, by WM37 there might actually be some serious pressure on WWE to step up their game, plus WM37 will come after the debut of the reboot of XFL all things that point to WWE putting out a better product.

Also Fox are pushing WWE for a edgier product and considering the amount of cash the Fox deal is worth to WWE I reckon it will happen. Add to the fact that Triple H and co are only going to gain more and more control over the creative direction in the next few years as the out of touch Vince McMahon hopefully begins to scale down his involvement a little and throws himself into the XFL reboot.

And of course as you say a bit of pressure from AEW should force WWE to up their game.

the run time of Mania was definitely one of the reasons I was saying to you you'd probably need to get a hotel for the night, so it's better if you're already heading out to holiday and Mania is already a part of that plan. let's just wait and see if the Fox deal impacts on the product.
