Just been watching some NXT in preparation for Takeover tonight.

Does anyone else think it would be a mark out moment if after (or during but preferably after) the tag team match, the AOP come down to beat down the winners (hopefully the usos get their moment and retain)?

How great would it be if we here "El Idolo" during the battle royal and Vega walks Almas down to the ring

Hopefully we get a couple NXT guys in the royal because they would benefit from the additional exposure and the brand is RED HOT right now

There is usually at least one. Almas seems like the most likely, but maybe someone like Dain or Lars, too.

I slept my ass in last night. It's almost 8:30 and Ive got shit to do before WrestleMania and I'm still in bed.

We have a lot of good snacks to make this afternoon too. Some of my kids friends will be coming over, but not too many this year. Some years we have a crowd in the living room.

Quote Women’s Battle Royal: Beth Phoenix and Paige are on commentary for this one. Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks and Bayley get their own entrances, and the rest of the entrants come out together as a group. The opening bell sounds and Carmella gets eliminated almost immediately. All of the women appear to surround Dana Brooke in a circle, and they all gang up on her and eliminate Dana next. There appears to be some enhancement talent in the ring from NXT who also get eliminated. Bianca Bellaire goes up to the top turnbuckle and stands there for a moment, but no one goes near her and she hits a 450 splash. Sonya Deville and Lana get eliminated. Bianca uses her hair as a whip and whips Becky, but Becky comes back and kicks her to the outside for the elimination. Dakota, Becky Lynch and Naomi are all eliminated. Mickie James starts dropping people, but she climbs up top and gets eliminated by Ruby. Peyton Royce is eliminated next, and the women all seem to be ganging up on Sasha and Bayley now. Sasha and Bayley team up to eliminate Natalya and Morgan. Ruby attacks them from behind, but they turn around and eliminate Ruby next. Bayley eliminates Logan, and it’s down to Bayley and Sasha. They go to shake hands, but Bayley grabs Sasha and throws her to the outside for the elimination. Bayley thinks she’s won, but it appears Naomi hasn’t been eliminated because she didn’t go over the top rope, so Naomi is back in the ring now. Naomi hits a butt bump to the face then eliminates Bayley.

Winner: Naomi

Management thought neither of the only two women involved in a legit storyline should win the match.

Naomi wins the Uterus Cup. I suppose the only woman ever to be allowed a dark entry winning on the night Undertaker returned, could have been a sign.

Loved seeing the NXT ladies working together. Because the lovely Peyton Royce was involved, I could put up with her screechy NXT chant she tried to get the fans behind.

Peyton made history as the first Australian to have a match at wrestlemania even if it was only on the pre show and the battle royal.

Naomi winning was annoying as she literally rested the majority of the match

"Rowdy" Ronda Rousey in WWE put on a far better show than I ever thought she would. Be interesting to see if she looks as good in a more 50/50 contest.

Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax Partnership did their best with so little time. They were way higher on the card than Charlotte/Asuka, but got nowhere near as much time.

Seven and a quarter hours is too long for the show. I get they want to give value for money, but it was better when people were on the card because they deserved it, rather than just so everyone can have some kind of match.

I agree there. Drop it to 4 hours, that's a whole damn lot there, make it 7 matches tops, no clusterfucks aside from maybe a ladder match or something like that. And then give those matches some serious time. Charlotte vs Asuka could have been match of the night had it been given another 10-15 minutes.

The other big problem was that they frontloaded the show with all the good matches and left all the worst ones till last.

Nakamura vs AJ Styles was a total dud, and not even good enough to lace the boots of their wrestlekingdom outing.

This PPV had the potential to outshine the previous nights Takeover Event, and it didn't start out bad at all, but then it just fizzled out into trash.

Rousey was really the only genuinely good match on the card.

Disappointed, as others have said the card was over-loaded, you felt exhausted by about the time they got to the Daniel Bryan match. Eight to nine matches tops I would say, if that means putting more on the pre-show then so be it, better that than rushing matches or giving fans too much to digest.

I wouldn't say Nakamura vs Styles was a dud but it wasn't great, this match was too over-hyped, it was a very reasonable match but given the classic fans were expecting it failed to deliver, I wasn't gripped by it at all but as said by that point I'd watched too much wrestling. I actually enjoyed Brock vs Roman more which was a pretty hard hitting match but it was over-booked, having Reigns kick out of three F5's and doing such a massive blade job were clear cheap tactics to get the match over and they failed.

The Andre the Giant Battle Royal was a whos who of nobodies, no NXT talent which was a disappointment, the ending with the Bray/Matt alliance was the only thing of note about it. JR seemed to be giving Ziggler a really hard time on commentary as well.

The Womens Battle Royal was better but Naomi winning after sitting most of the match out wasn't the most fan pleasing move. Becky Lynch should have won or Sasha or Bayley. Was good to see so many NXT ladies involved.
