We've spoke about a WWE UK NXT kind of idea before, but clearly not in a specific thread, so here goes, as it looks closer to happening........

Quote

-- The belief in the "U.K. dressing rooms" is that Joe Coffey has signed a UK deal with WWE but Coffey himself as denied it. Of course, this doesn't reveal anything one way or another as talent are not allowed to confirm they have signed until WWE publicly announces it.

-- There's "a lot of movement" going on backstage as far as the often-delayed U.K. project goes. WWE has booked dates in December but they have also booked and cancelled dates for the U.K. TV tapings. It should be noted though that WWE has renewed the contracts of the "big five" U.K. wrestlers - Trent Seven, Tyler Bate, Pete Dunne, Wolfgang and Mark Andrews - some almost tripling their salaries.

-- The idea is still to do U.K tapings and run a UK based promotions with the ultimate goal to eventually open a training center.

They wouldn't be tripling cost of deals if they don't have concrete plans to use them exclusively very soon.

I expect to see Zack Gibson as part of it, with him leaving 5 Star Wrestling just before it went bust.

I wonder if they're going to make ICW this "U.K. promotion" as WWE has had dealings with them. Having Ohno compete for (and correct me if I'm wrong) the ICW Championship, then Trips and Dunne making an appearance at Fear and Loathing this past November.

If that does happen, does this mean we're getting Grado in WWE?

I have a feeling if they are going to start they'll start with progress wrestling and move on to ICW to help build a UK division as those two are quite well known especially now with Pete Dunne being the UK champ for WWE.

So many questions such as is it a series or going to be all year round? When will it start to air? This is good news but so vague yet.

Happy for Plymouth getting some tapings. If it's going to be a weekly hour long TV show it needs to visit towns like that and not just cities.

The best news so far is it's going to tour for TV instead of being stuck in the same place every week like the original NXT, which is a downside of that show.
