Quote Tonight’s episode of WWE Raw in Green Bay, WI at the Resch Center will kick off the build for the upcoming Survivor Series PPV event.

PWinsider.com is reporting that the word going around on backstage is that John Cena will be the special guest referee for the non-title match between Universal Champion Brock Lesnar and WWE Champion Jinder Mahal. As noted, Lesnar is appearing on tonight’s show to respond to Mahal’s challenge for a match at the upcoming event.

The Raw women are set to take on the Smackdown women at Survivor Series. WWE is planning Sasha Banks vs. Bayley on tonight’s Raw to see who will captain Raw’s team.

There is also expected to be a Raw vs. Smackdown men’s match announced tonight, which could be the reason that Shane McMahon is backstage at Raw.

Finally, a traditional Survivor Series match where Enzo Amore captains a team of Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, Noam Dar and Ariya Daivari taking on Kalisto’s team of himself, Sin Cara, Rich Swann, Cedric Alexander and Mustafa Ali is expected to be announced.

Shit idea to waste Cena in a ref position. He should be wrestling on the show to add name value to a big four event.

Why have two babyfaces wrestle to be captain? Booking would be much more entertaining with an heel in charge of the team.

There is only time for so many traditional matches on the card, so I wouldn't be wasting one on the snoozerweights.

I liked the sort of invasion angle they did at the end of raw and im interested to see how Raw respond during Smackdown

I've always liked SS and the elimination style matches and im wondering who will be in the team of best 5 male wrestlers on each show given the fact that Miz is already booked in a match as is Lesnar.

I hope they use this to start building up the likes of Rusev again - he seemed to be one of the main players in the attack on the raw locker room

Uso's v Shield is already match of the night - and it wont be beaten - guaranteed

Quote Kurt Angle is backstage on his phone when Shane McMahon knocks on the door and walks in. Angle hugs Shane and calls him a crazy son of a b**ch. Shane says he's still healing from Hell In A Cell, and mentions how good Angle looked at TLC. Angle thanks Shane for letting him borrow AJ Styles, then they discuss Survivor Series. Shane feels that Kurt is out of line for a comment made about SmackDown, and Shane says the blue brand will destroy the red brand at Survivor Series.

First night of the storyline and the had to rush straight away off the friendly rivalry track.

The back and forth general manager friendly banter was good and I would have kept it going until next week.

I would have prefered Raw being heelish and starting the fued by attacking Smackdown.

Its a strange one this because you have Angle who is babyface, Shane acting heelish and then Daniel Bryan who seems to be disagreeing with Shane

What makes it more weird is that the first member of team Smackdown is babyface

I'm intrigued as to how this is all going to work out

Quote Dave Meltzer reported in the latest issue of Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Roman Reigns was diagnosed with the mumps a few days after the October 16th edition of Raw.

Reigns, Bray Wyatt, and Bo Dallas are scheduled to be medically examined this coming Monday. The belief within the sports entertainment company is that if the former WWE Champion is cleared to return, the current plan is for Reigns to be the captain of the Raw Survivor Series team.

WWE is in Baltimore, MD at the Royal Farms Arena for next week’s episode of  Monday Night Raw.

What a shit idea it would be to have him as star of the Raw team when he's not been around.

It's not his fault he's ill, but the team leader should be someone that's been around constantly.

It's worked out well Survivor Series being an event where it doesn't matter if people don't have a legit storyline going into the event.

Reigns, Rollins and Ambrose plus 2? That works out fine by me.

To be honest i thought that would be the plan anyways and it would make sense based on that for Reigns to be captain

Rollins and Ambrose are facing the Uso's.

My guess is it will be Reigns, Balor, Wyatt, Cesaro and Sheamus vs AJ, Nakamura, Orton, Rusev and Owens, or something very similar, maybe Shane McMahon will be part of the team?

It's a good looking card and with the right booking this once a year Raw vs Smackdown rivalry can make Survivor Series in to a genuine big four event again. With the elimination match format it's the perfect event to pit the two brands against one another.

Quote Following Monday night’s WWE RAW and Tuesday night’s WWE SmackDown! Live broadcasts, the following six matches are confirmed for the combined WWE RAW and SmackDown! brand Survivor Series pay-per-view event:

Brock Lesnar vs. Jinder Mahal

The Miz vs. Baron Corbin

Alexa Bliss vs. Natalya

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose vs. The Usos

Survivor Series Elimination Match:
Alicia Fox (Captain), Nia Jax and TBA vs. Becky Lynch (Captain), Carmella, Tamina Snuka, Charlotte Flair and Naomi

Survivor Series Elimination Match:
Kurt Angle (Captain), Braun Strowman & TBA vs. Shane McMahon (Captain), Randy Orton, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode and either AJ Styles or Rusev

WWE Survivor Series takes place on Sunday, November 19th.

Miz/Corbin: Brave putting two heels against eachother as it can ruin the crowd. I suspect Miz will be more babyface than normal to milk his expected cheers.

Nice touch having Kurt and Shane as captains, as they should be booked to lead by example.

I hope Rusev wins next week. I don't like the idea of a team full of babyfaces. Part of the fun of these matches are seeing people who are suppose to hate eachother working together.

Surprised to see no Zayn or Owens on Team Smackdown, it would have mixed up the faces and heels a bit and created a interesting dynamic teaming with Shane McMahon.

Corbin vs The Miz is a very heelish match but Miz is capable of playing the face which I expect against the more or less universally hated Corbin, but then again Miz could really heel it up allowing BC to slide into a face position for the night.

It’s a good card, best Survivor Series line up in a long time. The Raw vs Smackdown format is really adding something to the event.
