Quote On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer suggested that the match between Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns may not necessarily be for the #1 contender. Instead, Meltzer speculates that another match of some sort will take place on TV between now and SummerSlam which Reigns will win before moving onto face Lesnar.

-- However with Lashley defeating Reigns last night, it logically sets up Lashley as a future #1 contender or at least someone who is going to be a challenger for the title whenever that occurs.

-- As of earlier this afternoon, neither Brock Lesnar nor Paul Heyman were seen backstage at Raw. This doesn't mean that they won't be on the show as they could always show up immediately before the show goes on the air just that they haven't been spotted thus far.

I would much prefer Lashley to get a one on one with Lesnar instead of Reigns.

I would hate management to make it a triple threat as a way to have a title change without Brock being pinned.

Brock/Roman can't headline a big four event. The crowd will piss all over it.

Lashley has been the favourite to face Lesnar at Summerslam for almost a year now. I'd be very surprised if they made the change to Roman.

Well it’s the Lashley/Reigns rematch next week for the shot at Lesnar and I personally cannot see them putting Lashley over Roman clean again.

The only way that happens is if they set a new feud for Roman by having someone interfere, McIntyre perhaps?

My gut feeling is that they want Roman vs Brock at Summerslam which really baffles me considering how negative the reaction to their last matches was and it’s clear nobody wants to see it again so why would WWE book the match to headline another major PPV?

The only thing that makes me think they may go with Lashley is because of the MMA tie in as they seem to be making a storyline out of Brock wanting to be a ‘two sport champ’ and I even saw a rumour that Daniel Cormier may appear at Summerslam.

We'll see next week. Lashley seems most likely as things stand right now.

Probably be a double count out / DQ and both will go on to face Lesnar.

Strowman will then interfere and destroy everyone before cashing in

Lashley was the favourite to face the champion at a big four event whilst he was still in Impact Confused

Quote In a follow-up to a headline we already published, the same site Barnburner is also reporting that WWE is considering a triple threat match at SummerSlam for the WWE Universal title between Brock Lesnar, Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley. This report also goes on to add that Hulk Hogan is being considered to play a role as special enforcer/referee in the match and that the plan would be for Hogan to ultimately raise Lashley's hand as the winner and new champion to end the show. For what it's worth, Lashley would become the first black Universal champion in history.

After trying to copy the Foley bump at Extreme Rules, I wouldn't put it past management to have the racist lift the hand of the new black champion to end the show.

That triple threat with Hogan as ref would have my interest. Without Hogan it wouldn't and Brock needs to be the one pinned or tapping.

Yes, that's exactly right. His contract was running down on Impact and there was a lot of talk about Lashley coming back to take on Lesnar at Summerslam once Reigns had taken the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania.

That was before people forgot that Lesnar's contract lasted until Summerslam. The weird thing is that you can find all this stuff still online. Wrestling fans have very short memories.

Here's an example from February 2017 in which his return to WWE and potential match with Brock Lesnar are mentioned.

I'm surprised at that. Someone not even signed to your company being put in such a position.

Quote The Miz and Daniel Bryan are looking to be facing off at SummerSlam in a one-on-one match. There was some thought that this match would be pushed back until later this year or possibly even next year's WrestleMania, but after developments on Smackdown, it's almost a lock to happen next month.

Nobody seems to care about this anymore judging by how dead their storyline thread is.

B Team will hopefully be defending on the main show. Hopefully against just one team maybe Revival.

For the most part , SS is a pretty decent card. There are still a few that just feels it’s thrown together , Bobby v Elias comes to mind. The Daniel v Miz match just made a couple of weeks before the event. That should be a good match but with WWE throwing some together , then other have dragged out for ever , Brock v Roman will finally end let’s all hope. After SS , it would be nice to see the writers take a breath, start to build stories that interest the fans and good plots and start them but not drag them out for 2 years. Of course most are looking at Braun v Roman to start there after. Possible Dean v Seth but let’s think. Now I don’t like KO , not at all , but who would be a good feud , maybe Bobby ? Well Bobby’s mic skills are about as good as Askusa so I’m not sure what they will do with Bobby. Finn Balor , the match him is with Corbin ? How the mighty have fallen , once to be a top player not to be lucky to be mid card. Don’t even get me started on his Demon. AJ v Joe , this one could steal the show , could go either way so I will be watching closely with this one. New Day, Bludgen Brothers , The Bar, I dunno bit really those guys for me have no interest. I would love to see the Usos in a real heel tag team run. Running rough shot over all , winning at all costs , get DQ’d just to keep their belts , whatever it took. The only ladies match that has any appeal for me is Bliss v Rousey. I’m a fan of both but I hope Bloss comes out on top. Too soon to put a strap on Rhonda. How many tv / PPV matches she had , 3 or so ? Not sure the number but there is such a thing of moving them to fast. Yes, she is way over but I would like to see more skills in the ring before Inrrward her. Guess we will see how it all shakes out Sunday

The show will obviously end with Roman vs Brock the big payoff though will be whether Strownman and yes I mean strownman because I don't think Owens is winning the match in anyway shape or form unless Triple H does a screw job on him.

I don't think much of this card at all to be honest a lot of the matches here are repeated matches or matches we just don't want to see (Reigns vs Lesnar)

personally the only matches I think will be fine are Miz vs Daniel Brian and AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe which I hope won't be as lacklustre as AJ vs Shinskue was.
