Impressive that a month before it starts they already have down four matches, including the women title matches of both brands.

I would have Nakamura and Cena both go against Mahal so it's not totally overshadowed by the Raw main event.

I hope the fatal four way gets half an hour because it could be the match of the year.

... wow you know? At first I laughed at that comment that the fatal fourway could be match of the year, but then I realized, has there even been a standout match this year? Nothing even comes to mind. At least, not at the level of 2016's Zayn vs Nakamura, or DIY vs Revival which were both top notch matches that had everyone buzzing about it's quality afterwards. This year it seems like everything is a shitfest.

So far it seems like I'm gonna be cancelling my WWE Network subscription after summerslam. I barely even watched Battleground, I had no interest in watching either Raw or Smackdown this week, and just skipped them all together, though admittedly the return of Jericho makes me wish I had watched Smackdown for the first time in months, if only for that segment.

WWE just refuses to give the fans what they want, so I don't see a reason to watch anymore.

They need Cena to face Mahal to get any casual interested. Nakamura has been awful on the main roster and has no right being in the title mix.

With the main event being a 4 way....it'll be Brocks longest match in how long?

I expect Cena and Reigns to walk away from Summerslam as champions. Mahal is keeping the belt warm for Cena to equal Flairs record and I think WWE have realised that a year of having the Raw champion defend the title once every three months in a five minute match is unacceptable.

Considering WWE have been hyping this event as a big deal so far not one match is really grabbing my attention. I would have preferred to have seen Joe go against Lesnar again and win the belt cementing his status as a top player then he could have held the title until Wrestlemania where he'd face Roman and Reigns would go over finally getting that elusive win over Samoa Joe.

Cena has already tied Flair's record. This will be the record-breaking championship run for Cena making him the 17 time world champion.

I agree with you about Joe. Unless Joe comes out on top, in which case, well played WWE, but I think we all know it'll be Reigns.

So three more matches have been announced. Mahal we all know is Canadian so can't use the not from North America view. But when was the last time a PPV (especially a big four event if ever) was headlined with a match for the main title, one on one between two guys who aren't white caucasian?

Styles and Owens is going to be really good and should get a decent amount of time.

I expect after months of jobbing to Mahal that Randall will become the latest American to beat Rusev on PPV.

Surprised that James Arthur is on the official theme song with Machine Gun Kelly. Wouldn't have thought he was that well known in America.

Nakamura vs Mahal is interesting, not a huge fan of either but at least it's a fresh main event at a major show so WWE are making efforts to create new headliners.

Considering this is the second biggest show of the year it's missing a marquee match, top star Lesnar is in a multi-man match which dilutes his star power down, and the likes of Triple H, Goldberg, Angle and Shane McMahon and any other special attraction guys have not been booked in matches.

Officially announced matches (so far):
Fatal 4Way For WWE Universal Championship (AKA the red belt):
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe vs. Braun Strowman

WWE (The "World Heavyweight" part is silent) Championship:
Jinder Mahal (c) vs. Shinsuke Nakamura

Raw Women's Championship (white & red belt):
Alexis Bliss (c) vs. Bayley

SmackDown Women's Championship (glow-in-dark belt):
Naomi (c) vs. Natalya

WWE Cruiserweight Championship (purple belt):
Neville (c) vs. Akira Tozawa

WWE United States Championship (guest ref Shane McMahon):
AJ Styles (c) vs. Kevin Owens

Randy Orton vs. Rusev

That's a whole 7 matches and if this PPV is supposed to run 4 hours, then the total will probably be 12 or 13 matches (not including the pre-show).

Rumored matches:
Raw Tag Team Championship:
Sheamus & Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose

(Winner gets a title shot, or #1 Contender match):
The Hardy Boyz vs. The Revival vs. Gallows & Anderson (although the Club might get left out of this one)

SmackDown Tag Team Championship:
The New Day (c) vs. The Usos

Finn Baylor vs. Bray Wyatt

Intercontinental Championship:
The Miz (c) vs. Jason Jordan

That leaves a lot of big names with nothing to do at the show. Some of these matches also feel more like regular weekly TV than the big matches PPVs used to feature. Or maybe I've just gotten used to WWE PPVs being gimmick-match heavy.

Surely they'll fit Cena vs Corbin there somewhere?
