Reports are suggesting Bischoff didn't have the stamina for the job and was struggling. Its been more than two decades since Eric ran a wrestling company so I think it's possible he is now just too old and too detached from the wrestling business and this obviously showed in his performance as Smackdown creative director.

Heyman I think will be ok, he has a long standing relationship with Vince and WWE and is younger than Bischoff, plus Heyman has always been praised for his creative mind while Bischoff himself admits the creative side of the business was never his forte and something he preferred to not get involved in.

Considering the rumour was that Fox would want a more legit sports type WWE product I find it strange that so far they've gone in the other direction, this week the product was more of a late 80's to early 90's cartoonish style of booking.

The opening segment that featured Hogan and Flair was WWE at it's worst sadly, at this stage Hogan's stich is so tired and dated and the scripted stuff from the likes of Ali and Shorty G was just awful.

The only things of note from this episode were Brock Lesnar attacking Mysterio and his son and Cain Velasquez in a backstage segment, and I also quite like what they are doing with Nikki Cross. The rest of this episode I found boring and I may switch back to my YouTube highlights format of watching from next week until things improve.

It was a horrible show I was watching it live and I turned it off a after the first segment I'm sorry but I'm sick of the really bad booking for the Saudi Arabia show even with the young talent there's still focus on the old guys plus an mma fighter with a busted knee and a controversial boxer.

In saying that I'm not giving up on the e and I'm not gonna rave on about aew they've given some good stuff but I do feel like a lot of the show is about Cody and Jericho and their women's division is pretty weak.

Nikki vs Bayley should he good I think.

WWE making SS Raw v SD v NXT is a great move and it's a good job they did it.

Over 175 talent, production crew etc are all stuck in Saudi Arabia and they are having to fly NXT talent in to fill the show.

I'd like some SS build and I'd love to see NXT win the show but given how good Crown Jewel was it's a shame we wont get everyone for the usual follow up episode

Yeah I was disappointed that the follow up from Crown Jewel had to be postponed but wow I shouldn't have been, what a show Smackdown was this week, far and away the best SD episode in years and I advise even the most jaded of WWE fans that you go out of your way to see this.

Obviously the majority of the blue brand crew were stuck overseas so NXT were brought in to begin the build to Survivor Series, I hear Triple H was booking this episode and you could tell, a much grittier more pro wrestling format throughout.

It all started with Shayna Baszler taking out Bayley, Nikki Cross and Sasha Banks, then we see Matt Riddle and Keith Lee give a beatdown to Sami Zayn, then it's Miz TV and of course his planned guest Bray Wyatt isn't here so Tomasso Ciampa comes out instead, some great promo work followed by a impromptu match between them.
We see Bianca Belair take out Dana Brooke and Carmella backstage then a match between Rhea Ripley/Tegan Knox and Mandy Rose and Sonja Deville.

Finally after a entertaining backstage segment featuring Daniel Bryan and Triple H and Shawn Michaels we get the main event of Bryan facing Adam Cole for the NXT title, excellent PPV quality match, I'm not usually a Bryan fan but his hard hitting realistic looking submission style impressed me a lot here, Cole was quality as ever, great match.

The show ends with Triple H declaring war on Raw and Smackdown, really good stuff.

Please Vince just hand it all over to Triple H now, this is what the fans want.

100% agree with this.

Of course the reason it was so good is because it was NXT heavy and NXT is by FAR the best thing about WWE.

Of course things would also be different if HHH ran the whole lot because im not sure hed have NXT go over so much this week but then again NXT is his baby so he just might.

This is what these guys offer and those who dont watch NXT, watch this and then try and tell me NXT isnt the most exciting brand in wrestling.

I was really surprised to see Cole go over Bryan so clean, i always expected him to retain but i thought there be some tom foolery going on

Fantastic episode

Survivor Series could be absolutely insane if they keep this pace up

The plane issues back from Saudi Arabia made for a great episode which was the best of the week.

I preferred the commentary team too and Renee sound legit pissed about being busted open during the women's tag team match.

No problem with every NXT superstar being made to look strong either by winning their match or beating someone down.

Bryan/Cole put on a contender for best TV wrestling match of the year.

Thanks to Brock having special travel treatment the show benefited from him being there to show his Crown Jewel match in full.

Started watching Smackdown - then they brought out a mascot dog as a dig at Reigns which is literally one of the worst things I've seen on WWE TV so I switched it off

I can just imagine Vince saying it's such good shit.

Agreed it was terrible and this is a prime example of the horrible scripted shit that is everything that is wrong with WWE, in saying that it wasn't quite as bad as Corbin's promo last week where he started doing a impression of Roman as a dog, that was horrific.

I watched Smackdown via YouTube highlights this week, the multi-women tag between Smackdown and NXT looked pretty decent but really the only thing I would recommend people go out of their way to see is the Bray Wyatt/Daniel Bryan segments, this is shaping up to be a very good feud.

I did check out the Wyatt segments - I like the new belt.

Best part of the show for me was Undisputed Era destroying the Smackdown tag teams

I have everything crossed hoping for an NXT landslide at SS. They do have war games the night before so they have a reasonable out should they lose.
