So it's like a KOTR tournament for a Smackdown title, but it felt insignificant from the start by not showing the brackets and competitors all at the start.

It shows a lack of strength in the Smackdown midcard. For example the next two matches are two jobbers against eachother and one third of a faction taking on the lackey comedy jobber of another midcard.

I liked that Tye was part of it because he's hardly ever on Smackdown and they have really dropped the ball with him.

@Fletch - I wouldn't be surprised at all if Mojo won it considering his booking recently.

I'm glad Woods is in it. I think that New Day became a much more watchable tag team when he was wrestling in the Usos matches instead of playing the trombone.

I actually quite liked the Sin Cara stuff haha. He might not be as good a lucha as others, but he's a decent brawler.

Strange that they’ve gone with English and Woods in the bracketing, I would have said Kofi or Big E would be considered the more standout singles guys within New Day but then again Woods is the most charismatic, in fairness all three could be decent in a solo role but it’s together they are the most entertaining and clearly have the most fun. I would like to see one of them break out in singles.

However surely in the Rusev Day combo it should be Rusev who is in title contention? My guess is Woods and English have been put in as expendable guys to do the job, although I wouldn’t rule out a shock win for Xavier, unlikely though.

Mahal is still my pick to win it although I have a suspicion it could be Rawley as management are high on him.

Xavier woods picks up the win to advance onwards in the US title brackets an interesting choice but this was a match between two members of a faction/tag team.

Aj styles is defending his title in a handicapped Match at the royal rumble this seems to be odd booking because well what happens does the man who pins styles get the title or is it strictly either Owens or Zayn who gets it no matter who pins Styles

Shane and Daniel cost AJ Styles another match with their bickering and letting emotions get in the way, I hope they are going somewhere with this.

I think they should just announce all the active women for the female royal rumble already saying that they are entering was always obvious what we want to know is who will be the surprise entrants.

The tag title match was good nice little booking with the twin magic stuff between Jimmy and jey.

@L-shizzel - yeah the whole announcement of women in the rumble is a bit daft considering that they don't have 30 women, especially current champs excluded, on the roster. Just get some stories going for that shared universe stuff.

It does appear that the Xavier and English match was more of a continuation of both tag teams' feud, rather than see Xavier be a potential US champ. It would be cool seeing a member of New Day with a singles belt, but this is just a vehicle for the two tag teams while Usos and Alpha 2 have their tag title feud.

Speaking of which, really enjoying that they have moved on from New Day vs Usos (not that I was bored with it, just that they have more tag teams to properly utilise). Alpha 2, technicalities aside, have a win under their belt over Usos so will be interesting to see how that continues.

RE the world title match - it is a bit odd and I'm not really sure what to think of it yet, but the way I look at it, Sami has a title shot at a PPV, and if rumours are to be believed, will be involved in the title match at Fastlane also. We're finally getting the push that Sami deserves, albeit in random stipulated matches, but babysteps and all that.

Opening segment was a bit awkward haha...I smell a swerve here...it's all angling for Bryan to be the one going with KO & Zayn...however Yep Movememnt is getting over so my guess is Shane turns heel that turns KO & Zayn face.

Usos vs Benjamin/Gable - Nothing special in ring...not really fond on the shenanigans resulting in a title change only to see the match restart and the titles stay with the Usos. I'm guessing we're going to be getting a gimmick match down the line...possibly 2 out of 3 falls?

BB vs Breezango doesn't even count as a match does it? So are they setting up for BB vs Ascension or BB vs Ascension & Breezango?

Rusev Day is ridiculously over...when are they going to pull the trigger and give him what he deserves?

English vs Woods - Ok enough match, neither really stand out as singles guys and this match showed why.

Riott Squad vs Welcoming Commitee - Decent enough for the time it was given. It's still more about Riott Squad vs the rest, much like Paige and the gang on Raw. It's time to stop mirroring it WWE.

AJ vs Sami - Really enjoyable match in the time given. Imagine what these two could do with a longer PPV match? Oh wait we may get to see it...I can't imagine it staying a straight 1 on 2 match for the title..Shane will be changing this to a triple threat before the Rumble.

Was a ok episode. The main event was only about half the match these two can produce but I get they often have the talents take it down a notch for TV.

The US tournament seems to be going the predictable route, I had hoped maybe English would give his spot to Rusev but no instead as expected he jobbed to Woods who will probably lose to Mahal in the next round.

The wild card in the tournament is Rawley who I sense they want to push so while my money is still on Jinder to win the thing I reckon Mojo is a good outside bet.

I hope not Rowley is a pretty average wrestler whether he's face or heel, unless he can show me something more then those damn shoulder blocks I wouldn't be putting any titles on him.

I honestly hope that Bobby Roode wins the belt because I think he can do more with it then Jinder could given Jinder would probably be the same as he was as the WWE champion and just have the Singh brothers run interference and that formula gets old fast.

See this whole Rawley thing, the seeds were sown in my strange out there opinion a long time ago. I think it will be him that wins the title because this is the next person they want to push because....

Did you ever watch Breaking Ground? The NXT documentary following certain talent over several months? Well Rawley was painted in a very positive light. His young fan interaction, his humble attitude towards progressing up the ranks etc. Just struck me that I wouldn't be surprised if he was to do well (booking wise) for himself later on. And look where we are now.... sigh....

This is my gut feeling too, I really think they see Rawley as the next money guy.....

He might be lousy in the ring, the fans may hate him but I think he’s ticking all the right boxes backstage, they probably see him as a model employee, he’s got the athletic background, a look they like, charisma and a over the top personality, a willingness and ability to do the PR stuff, links to the celebrity world with his football background, all stuff they can work with, the ring work and character development can all come in time.
