Honestly, if I hear about something on SD that I want to see... I watch it online.  There's a bunch of different guys that upload it to YouTube on Thursdays.  Because the show airs a day early in several countries, most notably Australia.

Quote Smackdown last week did a 1.87 cable rating with an average viewing audience of 2,626,000 viewers on SyFy.

That's actually more viewers that I would think still watch.  The show hasn't really offered anything good in a while.

i expect the ratings to drop more when raw goes to 3 hours - simply because everything decent about smackdown (other than ryback atm) seemingly gets more focus on raw and adding an extra hour means that smackdown will get a little more focus on raw so there will be less reason to watch smackdown

Exactly.

WWE uses the live Raw to reveal their big surprises.  While SD is left with the derp moments.  We don't even get the regular good wrestling match anymore.

Cena's appearance couldn't improve ratings, would more advertisement have made a difference?

the last Smackdown of 2012 pulled a 1.9 cable rating.

For cable TV on Friday night, SmackDown ranked #5 and #3 among males 18-34 & 18-49 behind ESPN college football bowl games. For the 8PM hour, SmackdDwn ranked #1 in the demos.

so, a pretty good showing really.

Quote Last week's episode of WWE SmackDown drew a 1.78 cable rating with 2.44 million viewers, the least watched-watched Friday SmackDown of the year.
But was probably still the highest rated regular show on SyFy.

The show wasn't bad. But it was a go-home show that offered no big surprises. There was also no NBA playoff games, so WWE can't even use that excuse.

I'm curious to see if this becomes a trend or not.

They need Ziggler back to save them ......

In all honesty though even throughout the tour of Europe - the WHC has spent more time on raw than smackdown, the tag champs have spent more time on raw, the US champ and IC champ have done nothing, Ortons been booked poorly .... other than Mark Henry - What reason at this minute in time has any one actually got to watch smackdown?

Quote Friday's WWE Smackdown drew a 1.85 rating with 2.41 million viewers, slightly down from the previous week.
It's hard to get energized to even watch SmackDown these days. The big story stuff is kept on Raw. The lack of brand separation means that there's nobody that can only be seen on SD. It's not like when Edge was the headliner; if you wanted to see Edge you had to watch SD because he wasn't going to be Raw.
