The March 4 episode of WWE SmackDown scored slightly below a 2.0 cable rating, down from the prior week's record 2.3 rating on Syfy. The show prior to the record rating drew slightly above 2.0. Friday's number is in line with the show's average in 2011, which is slightly below 2.0
DAMN! that good! TNA would wish they had to have a 2.0 or anything close below it.
But for vince thats not good enough. It's hard to get ratings on fridays because some people might have to go to work or Ect. Smackdown on tuesdays or even wensday would help a little.
YES! YES! YES!

Quote The May 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, featuring a World Heavyweight Championship Match, scored a 1.73 cable rating. The number is down 12 percent from the previous week, a 1.94.

It is the lowest rated episode of 2011. The show drew 2,793,000 viewers overall.

Smackdown ranked No. 10 in total cable television viewers for the night. It also ranked No. 7. in Males 18-34 and No. 5 in Males 18-49.

12% is a big drop off.  I'm sure some of that's due to the big NBA playoff game that was on during the last hour of SD.  But I'm sure all the spoilers didn't help in this case.

Damn 1.73 ...

I know they have to be a little upset about that number. I'm the kind of guy who likes to read the spoilers, but ill still watch the broadcast A) because I love wrestling and B) because marijuana affects the memory .. (see half baked) ..

The playoff's damn sure don't help matters any ...

Quote This past Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown on SyFy did a 1.72 cable rating with 2,552,000 viewers.

I'm hoping that goes up this week now that we have Christian as heel champion for the first time ever.

Smackdown has been the highest rated show every week since being on SyFy, but it's a poor network so not really worth them bragging about.

Wasn't Smackdown when it debuted on the channel getting over three million viewers and over a 2 rating?

Quote This past Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown on SyFy scored a 1.99 cable rating with 2.83 million viewers. This was the highest rating for SmackDown since Edge retired in April.

Partial source: F4Wonline.com

Further proof people don't like Orton as champion they prefer Christian as champ that and even more wrestling as I am sure while Orton was champ ratings were going down.

Although this could be in part because of Triple H being on the show as well but ratings do seem to be rising a bit for Smackdown I just they start hitting twos again.

Woohoo! Well done SmackDown! Pushing 2.0 is terrific leap for a brand that has been pushing 1.2 for ages now. Not surprising, it was a great episode last week.
I'm not sure you can put it down to Orton though adders, the leap could just as easily be partially attributed to Orton dropping the baby-face schtik and reverting to the brutal tweener character that got him over in the first place.

Quote Friday's episode of WWE SmackDown on SyFy scored a 1.81 cable rating, down from the previous week's 1.99 rating. This week's show averaged 2.57 million viewers, also down from the previous week.

Still a strong rating and not enough to go and take the title off Christian to make him look like a transitional champion.

SuperRan as the champ put the ratings into the 1.6s which I hope it ends up in again.

Maybe then management will see Rest Holds Randy isn't a ratings draw. Nah even then management will find excuses and blame ratings on something else.

Damn... it's times like these I really miss having Maria around to defend Blandy.

The post-PPV show's ratings will probably be decent.  People will turn in to see what new direction the stories will take.  But I would expect the baseline ratings to slowly slip the longer that Borton is champ.  WWE just can't wrap their heads around the fact that people enjoy RKO when he's chasing the title far more than when he's defending it.

Quote  SyFy issued the following tonight:

SYFY IS #1 IN CABLE PRIMETIME WITH WWE’S SUPERSMACKDOWN LIVE ON AUGUST 30

SPECIAL LIVE TUESDAY BROADCAST TOPS FOX AND CW DRAWING MORE THAN 3 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS

NEW YORK – August 31, 2011 – Syfy’s first ever WWE Smackdown live special, SuperSmackdown Live, pinned 3.3 million total viewers last night, Tuesday, August 30 from 8-10PM/ET. The program leg locked 1.45 million Adults 18-49 and 1.3 million Adults 25-54. The performance put Syfy in the #1 spot in Cable Primetime for the night ahead of the #2 cable finisher by 45% in Adults 18-49 and 29% in Adults 25-54. Syfy also topped both FOX and the CW from 8PM to 10PM ET/PT in Adults 18-49 and 25-54.

Other ratings highlights:

SuperSmackdown Live was Syfy’s highest WWE Smackdown performer ever among Adults 18-49 and the highest performance in Adults 25-54 since April 2011.

SuperSmackdown Live on Syfy was the #2 cable telecast of the day in Adults 25-54 and the #3 Primetime cable telecast in Adults 18-49.

SuperSmackdown Live topped the last live airing of WWE Smackdown – the October 1, 2010 premiere on Syfy – by +47% in Adults 18-49 and +21% in Adults 25-54.

SuperSmackdown Live was the #1 Primetime telecast in Cable for the night with male viewers overall and with Men 18-49 and 25-54.

Originating from the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, the Tuesday night special featured WWE’s biggest Superstars and Divas, including World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton®, Christian®, Sheamus™, Mark Henry®, Sin Cara™, Cody Rhodes™, Wade Barrett™, Daniel Bryan™, Brodus Clay™, Natalya™ and Alicia Fox™.

The special will re-air in SmackDown’s regular time slot on Friday, September 2 from 8-10PM (ET/PT).

WWE Smackdown is averaging 3.2 million total viewers for 2011 to date on Syfy.

Syfy seems pretty damn happy with that number.  Looks like Smackdown did well in all the key demographics.

WWE might not be too happy.  This will most likely lead to more pushing from Syfy to have Smackdown live every week.   WWE likes having the one show precorded so they can edit out botches and "correct" audio.  It's also cheaper to record the show than air it live.

Quote Friday's replay of the WWE Smackdown SuperShow (that was broadcast live on Tuesday) drew a 1.2 rating.

That ended up being about 1.6 million viewers.  I'm wonder how many of those were people that were just rewatching the show versus how many didn't watch it live on Tuesday.   I expect one of the those "Did You Know" cards to add the numbers together and claim the show got 4.9 million views.
