I agree that it needs to be somebody the fans are behind majorly. That's why I don't think Asuka is winning the women's Rumble. Lynch or Bayley would be far better feel good winners.

In the end, Roman Reigns at number 30 was the only thing they could do. They knew everyone was going to be disappointed so might as well send someone out there to really garner heat.

An idea popped in in that discussion that made me extremely excited, and I am soon going to tweet about. What if The Miz does indeed win, and go on to challenge AJ Styles for the WWE title?

I am all in for that match. All in. Plus, they kept the two of them apart as much as possible when they were both on Smackdown.

That's actually a very good point. I mean, it's one thing when Daniel Bryan was being stop/started throughout 2013, he gets one of the biggest pops in WWE history when he turns on Wyatt and is then fed to Wyatt earlier in the night. Pretty much every single fan alive thought he was going to be in the Royal Rumble match after losing to Wyatt.

Last year however, the expectations of Kenny Omega were pretty unrealistic. I think they're only the very slightest bit less unrealistic this year, too. Samoa Joe not being in the Rumble was nothing more than a missed opportunity, and WWE should have known better. But at some point in time people need to lighten up a bit and realize that there are some expectations that just can't be met. Joe? Yes, WWE could have done that, but Omega was still under contract with NJPW, and Balor still recovering (wasn't he? I think he was honestly I forget now for certain).

This year hopefully people don't just simply expect that Daniel Bryan is going to be in the Rumble match and that Kenny Omega is going to debut, etc. They might be able to get away with saying someone big from NXT is going to debut, but that's about it.

If anyone should debut from NXT I have one word for them ... Sanity the whole group should come up for the night Nikki for the womens rumble and the rest of the group for the mens rumble yes that takes a few spots but better them then some jobbers like Titus or Apollo.

AJ Lee and CM Punk would make for a brilliant story.

Especially if both of them win so the show goes off air with his winning wife skipping back to the ring for a Eddie/Benoit hug with her husband, as the announcers try and make out how strange the night has been.

The mark friendly Philli crowd would absolutely lap it up.

Mens #30 - Batista if he is definitely returning, if not, Daniel Bryan (i fully expect Byran to be involved in this match somewhere along the line and after making the post in the Royal Rumble thread i would not be surprised if he won

Womens #30 - Nikki or Brie Bella

Adders mentioned CM Punk and AJ Lee as being a brilliant story

My take on another interesting story would be if they had Undertaker at 30 for the men and Michelle McCool for the women

Lesnar at 30 so he can win the Rumble and have a night off at Wrestlemania...no??

Realistically it would be fun to see Cena get 30 in the mens and Nikki 30 in the womens so both can enter 30 and lose.

This! lmao.

I really have no realistic speculation on this, but following the trend of couples, I would like to see Daniel Bryan and Brie Bella at the #30 spot.

Quote RAW GM Kurt Angle is backstage on the phone with a surprise entrance in the women's Rumble match. Angle says they haven't been in the ring in years, but he knows they'll be great for the Rumble.

It's been obvious old stars will be brought back to make up numbers, but this is the first official confirmation we've seen.

I wouldn't bring back the top ladies like Lita or Trish because you can't win with them. Either current roster looks weak being eliminated in their prime by two older women or the nostalgia acts get eliminated quickly as if to say they can't go anymore.

I would prefer the names slightly below them to be brought in like Torrie Wilson, Stacey Kiebler, Molly Holly, Victoria, Jacqueline, Beth Phoenix, those kind of names.

Its already an absolute guarantee that match of the night will be The Usos v Chad and Shelton 2 out of 3 falls match.

The Usos have been putting on 5 star (or very close) matches for a long while now and if they are going to move to Raw, then dropping the titles at the rumble would probably be the way to go to move them out of the picture so it isnt such a hard cut off come Mania
