Quote WWE has reportedly re-signed the former A-Train/current Giant Bernard for the New Japan Wrestling promotion. Bernard will report to WWE after WrestleMania, according to the Wrestling Observer. Bernard's re-hiring will likely be for a bodyguard-type for on-air heel authority figure John Laurinaitis. Earlier this week, Bernard was asked on Twitter if he's been contacted by any U.S. promotion to be on their TV. Bernard simply replied, "Nope." In NJPW, Bernard had a recent IWGP Tag Title run with Karl "Machine Gun" Anderson.

Awesome.

Hope this doesn't mean Otunga gets moved, but A-Train was great, and hes only got better in Japan from wat I've heard.

He held some tag-team titles in Japan with Tomko didn't he?

He seems to have done well for himself in Japan. With his in-ring career probably winding down now a bodyguard/occasional wrestling role in WWE is perfect for him.

The team of him and Tomko would have been awesome as Johnny Ace's henchmen, but last I heard Tomko was fucked out of his face and sitting in some Thailand prison cell for robbing pills from a chemist or some shit, think his big league wrestling career is done sadly.

This is a pretty surprising resigning in my mind. I agree with the idea of him as a bodyguard type, but I don't think he needs to do anything more than that. I enjoyed some of the work he did here and there, but never really thought he would make it above the mid-card level.

I've heard he's improved tenfold since he went to Japan so it'll be an interesting re-signing for the WWE and im personally im all for it. I never really minded him as a competitor and he was always pretty good for a big guy.

Well this might just be a big rumour according to a recent twitter update from A-train himself.

If he does come back as Johnny's bodyguard I wonder whether they will acknowledge that he is A-Train or just pass him off as some random generic hench guy. I would guess at the latter since he wasn't a massive superstar and so bringing him back as A-Train would just be weird and random as hell.

i've never seen anything from him since he left WWE but i agree with NFaMouZ - as bryans bodyguard the 2 could be awesome

excitement short lived

Quote   Matthew Bloom (a/k/a Albert, A-Train) has denied online reports stating he has signed a contract to return to WWE.

"Haha! False. Wife just had a baby. I'll be on next tour," he wrote Saturday on Twitter referring to New Japan Pro Wrestling's next tour where he competes as Giant Bernard. When asked how the rumor started, he replied, "Not sure but it's comical."

This is indeed awesome as A-Train is the "monster looking wrestler" wwe likes to push only with in-ring talent to go with the look.

One question for those that watch Japanese wrestling: Did he shave his back yet?
