Shows how much Vince like's the Hardyz eh?

I watched everything until about 10:15 or so and got to be too tired to give a crap. Pretty sure that was the Ultimate Deletion, because I didn't see it. I don't even really remember what happened on Raw as it just wasn't very good this week. They need to keep Rousey on the show, and they need to get Angle into his role of Goofy badass like he used to be, and damn man, they should be doing more with Strowman than a rehash of Team Hell No "I'm the tag team champions!"

This week Smackdown was better.

Quote Tonight's Raw preview, from WWE.com:

John Cena takes on The Big Red Machine
That eerie encounter last Monday on Raw inspired a match between the two longtime rivals this coming Monday night. What would a victory over Kane mean for Cena in his quest to resurrect The Undertaker for one more match on The Grandest Stage of Them All? Moreover, what are The Big Red Machine’s motivations in all of this? Is Kane vying to battle Cena at The Show of Shows in New Orleans, or is he simply stepping up to defend the reputation of his fellow Brother of Destruction?

What’s “Woken” Matt Hardy’s next move?
This past Monday’s Raw played host to The Ultimate Deletion at The Hardy Compound, where “Woken” Matt Hardy ended his Great War with Bray Wyatt by defeating him in combat and throwing the dazed Eater of Worlds into the mystical Lake of Reincarnation. Wyatt hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Now that The Woken One’s rival has been vanquished, what is Hardy’s path to WrestleMania?

Braun Strowman needs a WrestleMania partner
The Monster Among Men doesn’t believe he needs to tag with anyone to take down The Bar, but whether he likes it or not, he’ll need someone in his corner. When will Strowman choose his partner for The Showcase of the Immortals?

Are Stephanie McMahon & Triple H ready for Ronda Rousey & Kurt Angle?
As Rousey continues to ramp up her training in preparation for the Mixed Tag Team Match pitting her and Kurt Angle against Stephanie McMahon and Triple H at WrestleMania, is the Raw Commissioner prepared for what awaits at The Show of Shows?

Will Roman Reigns be 100 percent for WrestleMania?
Little is known about Reigns’ condition at this time, but one has to imagine that The Beast Incarnate’s actions have changed the landscape of the Universal Championship Match at WrestleMania. After all, most Superstars have difficulty simply standing upright in a match against The Conqueror. What chance does Reigns have if he’s still recovering from Beast-incurred injuries?

Nia Jax’s pursuit of Alexa Bliss continues
Given the champion’s attitude and recent comments toward Nia, Raw General Manager Kurt Angle saw fit to give Jax a championship opportunity against The Goddess at WrestleMania. Alexa evaded Nia’s wrath in Dallas, but will she have the same fortune in Cleveland, two weeks before The Showcase of the Immortals?

Does Finn Bálor owe Seth Rollins a rematch?
On the March 12 edition of Raw, The Extraordinary Man defeated The Architect in a singles match with a roll-up, and since both men are challenging The Miz in an Intercontinental Title Triple Threat Match at WrestleMania, Rollins is looking to gain some key momentum before The Show of Shows. As such, he wants a rematch against WWE’s first Universal Champion. Will it take place?

They never have anything like seven things to talk about in the preview. They are going all out to make the show sound like something to tune in for.

Nothing really stands out though. We want Taker to be seen and Braun to announce his partner, but both are rumoured to be not happening until Wrestlemania, which sucks.

One mistake in there is saying Bray hasn't been seen or heard from since, when he's actually tweeted.

Went to bed rather than watch the main event. Not interested in Cena/Kane or Cena/Taker so...

Not really a very good Raw this week IMO.

Miz/Balor/Rollins I think was the only thing that was interesting to me.

The opening segment between Lesnar and Reigns made Raw worth watching alone .... fantastic stuff

Wasnt overly impressed with the rest of the show but the opening segment was a perfect set up for Mania.

I wish it was mania this weekend!!!

Meh. I liked Reigns' promos better. That whole fight bored me. Makes me realize I was right to begin with to not be interested in this feud.

I am about 4 weeks behind on WWE and am in the process of catching up, so I may be mentioning a few things that took place weeks ago. I am watching the March 5 Raw.

The opening was good with Kurt Angle calling out Hunter Hearst Helmsley right off the bat with Stephanie coming out trying to talk sense and calm him down. The challenge of Ronda Rousey and Angle to Trips and Stephanie confirms the WrestleMania match that was rumored for a while. I would prefer Angle to be in a singles match but as said looking at some of his recent outings since his WWE return such as at the Survivor Series he does look slower and sluggish, so a tag match with Rousey is a good way for him to blend in and get in the mix every now and then. I do expect some interaction between Rousey and Helmsley in the match, like at Elimination Chamber and like at WrestleMania 31.

As I stated in the Asuka thread; I loved the match between Asuka and Nia Jax, the submission ending was good and it was a good way to blow off their big rivalry. Asuka's triangle armbar was awesome.

John Cena's promo was probably the best of his career; and while that's not saying much, it was still damn entertaining. I love how he addressed his outside of kayfabe critics by saying that he doesn't hold people back but rather that he makes the most of his opportunities.

I LOVED it when Goldust interrupted Cena. It was so great to see Goldust get a good amount of promo air time as if it's 1996 again. I'll take a page from #Heel's book. #Legend.

But of course Cena won (making the most of his opportunity.)

I liked the tension continuing between Bayley and Sasha Banks.

I loved the old footage of Hillbilly Jim for his Hall of Fame announcement, it brings back a lot of memories to see him and Hulk Hogan.

Elias... still annoying; still hate him.

I was surprised Bray Wyatt disposed of Rhyno so quickly. Of course I get the concept of the squash match before his promo to Matt Hardy but Rhyno is a former ECW Champion. If the match was going to be that short it should have been someone else in that role. I also noticed how Heath Slater backed away from Wyatt while trying to save Rhyno.

Miz's Oscars (or Mizzies) promo could not be more brilliant; just trashing everyone, Kurt Angle nominated for finally being a good father to Jason Jordan, finn Balor for being Universal Champion for one day, lol. LOL After Seth Rollins and Finn interrupted Miz that was a worked shoot Miz did on Balor "this isn't Japan." Miz is one of the best on the mic ever.

Also, it was one of the better promos by Paul Heyman, and that is saying something, "the championship is Brock Lesnar's bitch." As for Roman Reigns' response, as others have stated we can see what he's trying to do, make Brock look bad for being a part timer by saying that all the fans want is to see their Champion show up. While I was never one to mind Brock (or anyone else) being a part timer, it was a good line.

I look forward to the upcoming weeks leading up to WrestleMania.

Edit: Watched the March 12 Raw with the Asuka vs Mickie James match where Asuka accidentally kicked the ringpost and hurt herself. I love how she is stiff and does not wrestle the WWE style.

Either that or she's very good at selling.

Also, thank you to Mickie James for acting like an opponent and actually going after her while the ref was checking on Asuka instead of backing off like so many these days.

Quote Mike Johnson on yesterday's PWInsider.com Elite audio show speculated that he wouldn't be surprised if Monday's WWE Raw was pretty much put together at the last minute or perhaps even written as the show was going on.

-- Johnson suggested that knowing Vince McMahon, it's possible that he saw a version of Raw script in the afternoon and decided that the show needed to be re-written entirely. This may be why the entire Raw episode felt lackluster and didn't come across like a PPV go-home edition, let alone one for their biggest event of the year, WrestleMania.

I can see that being true. The show was nothing special and didn't appear to have a structure.

Big Cass, Samoa Joe and Jeff Hardy are all apparently cleared to wrestle and Bray Wyatt is getting repackaged, so it was disapointing they didn't use the go home show as a chance for at least one of them to be brought back on screen.

It would have meant more than all four returning in the next couple of weeks, when NXT debuts happen and returns are lost in the shuffle and less meaningful.

I'd believe that. Only the opening segment of Raw was worth watching.

Alexa Bliss & Nia Jax Partnership can only end in a title change after all the bullying these past few weeks.

Alexa Bliss & Mickie James Storyline makes little sense either. The woman bullied as Piggy James is friends with someone bullying another woman for her size and joining in.

All this headed by an heel with past issues with eating disorders doing all the bullying. It's ridiculous booking logic.
