Oh my word what a cringeworthy opening segment. They really are hanging JJ out to try in this slow burn heel turn...plus when Gallows is the life of the party you know somethings up haha.

Bayley & Sasha vs Mandy & Sonya - Basic tag match..unfortunately it showed up some of the lack of experience in Rose and Deville but that will improve with time.

Woken Matt vs Curtis Hawkins - Short squash...predictable Wyatt stuff post match...make them fight already.

It wouldn't be Raw without some walking with Elias would it? What a way to introduce Miz haha. It's a shame they're having Miz focus on Roman and IC Title as he'd make an excellent Rumble winner.

Enzo vs Cedric Alexander - Not quite sure what to make of that match...Enzo obviously got busted the hard way...and another storyline injury for Zo?

Bar vs Titus Worldwide - Ok tag match with a surprising outcome, really didn't see that one coming.

Standard quality Heyman promo...What a quality little segment that was with Braun able to do that in one take...surely that had to be pre-taped??

Joe vs Rhyno - Another short match...common theme this evening...so the seeds are planted for Joe vs Cena interesting.

I'm fine with Nia taking out Asuka as that's what Nia should be doing, it's about time they started booking her properly.

Balor Club vs Shield 2.5 - No surprising it was the best match of the show. The played the JJ/Reigns storyline well too so it's more to the JJ story and it's a great win for the reunited Balor Club. Predictable post match beatdown on Reigns by Miz too.

Overall a very average Raw.

Yeah, actually this wasn't too bad. It wasn't good, but at least Asuka didn't get squashed in a match. Nia Jax is a good opponent for Asuka as they have that same kind of physical chemistry that Toyota and Nakano had, and these two would do very well to study footage of Toyota and Nakano for their matches. I mean, we're talking about 5 star matches that haven't been seen in over 20 years. Time to get to it. Jax needs to learn to up her cardio though. She's far too slow even for a woman of her size. Nakano and others really worked a quick style that highlighted how athletic they were, and for me, if I'm ever going to take Jax seriously as an in-ring performer she needs to do more to try and match that.

Balor Club was good, it's a shame we have to suffer Jason Jordan with Rollins & Reigns.

The less said of Kane, Strowman, & Lesnar the better.

The Miz was the star of the show though, no question of that. He is easily the best thing on WWE TV these days, and it's not even remotely close. Miz these days would put on good competition for The Gift of Jericho from a year and a half ago he is so good. Miz is on par on the mic with where he was in 2011 when he was WWE Champion, and now that he's spent so much time working matches he is vastly superior to where he was back then in the ring.

I enjoyed it LOL It gave all six men a chance to get involved and build to a solid main event for later in the night.

Quote WWE Intercontinental Champion Roman Reigns comes out to the ring first to kick off tonight's show. Reigns gets on the mic and talks about beating Samoa Joe last week. Fans are already giving Reigns the "What" chants. Reigns starts to talk about avenging Dean Ambrose, but then Jason Jordan comes out to interrupt. Jordan gets in the ring and starts thanking Reigns for what he did to Joe last week. Fans chant "Who's your daddy" at Jordan until Jordan's tag partner Seth Rollins comes out. Rollins sets in the ring and tells Jordan he appreciates what he's trying to do, but he's got a lot to learn. Rollins says Jordan means well, but he's stepping on Reigns' moment right now. Jordan interjects that this is all of their moment, and they're all Champions now who run the show. Reigns says enough of this "we" stuff. Jordan admits they're not The Shield, but the three of them are pretty good, maybe the most dominant group in all of WWE. Fans boo Jordan more until Finn Balor, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson come out to interrupt. Balor gets on the mic and says he's been rolling with Gallows and Anderson pre-WWE, 10 years before Jordan even knew Kurt Angle was his dad. This prompts more "Who's your daddy" chants from the crowd. The Club comes down to the ring and they call Jordan a nerd. Jordan looks like he wants to fight, but RAW GM Kurt Angle comes down and tells them to wait until the main event tonight. The six-man tag of Jordan, Reigns & Rollins vs. Balor, Gallows & Anderson is booked for tonight's main event.

Jordan should have played up to the who's your daddy chants by turning angrily to the live audience and running down the career acolades of Kurt.

The fans were heavily into the segment, but I aren't sure how much of that was down to being excited that the show had started.

Strowman "fired"? Fuck that noise.

By Kurt's logic, dropping the stage on someone is worse than raping Sharmell.

So I'm assuming all them security guys Braun beat up were trained wrestlers from some indy fed. They took some serious bumps.

I know Bruan will be back.

I really hope they don't have Lesnar come tonight and completely kill the momentum he's picked up now.

It looks like they are running out of time; but I actually did hope for Lesnar to come. I know what they are trying to do with Braun but I still am not sold on him. In fact I actually wish Kane was doing everything Braun is doing now as if it's the fall of 1997 all over again. But even if Brock showed up to attack Braun, it could still have been an even brawl with neither looking weak.

Rico might be happy when I say this; but everything Bruan is doing is a demonstration that WWE can be off the hook within the PG lines. If it was anytime pre-1993 and the current bad guy monster started throwing security guys around, including though a table backstage, and overturned a truck it would be like nothing ever seen.

BTW, anyone know if Nia's injury is legit?

Also, all the things that Braun destroyed and unfortunately none of it was Elias' guitar. Cry

Quote Although WWE advertised WWE Hall of Famer Kevin Nash to appear on Raw 25 next Monday night, the former WWE Champion revealed on his official Twitter account that he would no longer be appearing. He sent out the following:

Was so looking forward to being a part of RAW 25. It's nearly impossible to travel on our down sized airlines healthy. With a total knee replacement it would be self inflicted torture. See ya everyone at Mania

— Kevin Nash (@RealKevinNash) January 18, 2018

Gutted as he was one of the legends that I was most looking forward to seeing.

Kind of a lame excuse too. I'm sure he could have borrowed the E jet or can at the very least pay to fly first class so he can be in complete comfort.

It ruins the nostalgia as no we can't see even a full Outsiders nevermind NWO.

Same as I’m a big Nash/Diesel fan.

Unfortunately Nash is in the position now where if he can’t be bothered to turn up he doesn’t have to, he’s got enough money in the bank and as far as I’m aware he’s retired from the ring, although never announced as such I think his match with Triple H a few years back was designed as his retirement bout.

Nash is the sort of guy that would be great in some form of non-wrestling role, shame he’s never really tried it.
