So from a local source Hulk Hogan will be returning around SS or shortly after it and if I am led to believe an influx of old names will be heading to smackdown and raw to boost ratings, due to the fact raw ratings have been the worst in a number of years, could we finally see hbk or Austin in one final match or will we see a similar Invision storyline from the early 2000s time will tell.

As WWE ran out of patience with the Indies and nxt and going back to what has worked in the past main eventers who should be podcasting not suplexing there way to a pay cheque, despite some of the best storylines in years WWE needs to bring back star power, Cena, Hogan, Austin, Michaels, and who knows else but at the end of the day the depth of the roster is as good as it as been in years weither they are in there 20s, 30s or 40s.

Thoughts on this and a bit of fun who should be holding the titles and this stage

I don’t see Austin ever wrestling again. He would take a huge health risk if he did and I believe he is one that has comfortably moved on from wrestling without having to go to the county fairs etc and hang on to the glory years. HBK , maybe. He’s back isn’t the best either. Hmmm legends , I wonder if Batista , of course Jericho pops up from here to there , maybe Booker T. I love the veterans but I will say this , you can’t move forward to the future with new talent as long as you use the past. I hope they still do the “old school wrestling “ in January. I will always miss one of the best mic guys ever to step through the ropes , Rowdy Roddy Piper.

I would have loved to have seen Austin come back for one short term run much like Goldberg did but I do think that ship has probably sailed with him, Austin has gone on record saying if he can’t perform to his past standard he won’t do it and of course there is the health risk although I think his neck is in pretty good shape these days after years away from the ring.

If a old school legend can still work at least a passable match I always enjoy seeing them come back for a short run, I’ll use Goldberg again as a good example, he came back for a brief period which was great nostalgia and boosted interest for a short time, his only real feud was Lesnar which was expertly booked to protect both men and no full time talents were really sacrificed to put over Goldberg. It also allowed Goldberg to perform in front of his family for the first time and put a full stop on his career the right way erasing memories of his previous exit from the business. So this is really a glowing example of how a part time veteran who still has name value should be booked.

I would love to see HBK return on a similar arrangement and work a feud with someone like Styles, Bryan or Rollins. If The Rock ever works another match I would say against Reigns. There is Batista who is someone who could definitely return and if he does I would like to see him in there with Lesnar, Lashley, Reigns, Strowman or maybe a smaller guy like Styles. Of course there is Kurt Angle who has yet to work a singles match since his return, I would say Bryan, Rollins, Styles, Reigns and Lesnar will all be top picks to face him.

Hogan should only work in a non-wrestling role, physically he cannot hold up his end in the ring anymore and I would hate to see another Bret Hart situation where the other talent have to work around his limitations and make sure all their offence(if any) is extremely soft.
