Quote The debut episode of WWE NXT on SyFy drew a 1.35 (1.4) cable rating and averaged 1,704,000 viewers. WWE and SyFy sent this out today: REMIERE OF WWE NXT PINS 1.7 MILLION TOTAL VIEWERS DURING TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 23 DEBUT ON SYFY, SOARING 32% NXT Leaps 73% in Adults 18-34, 51% in Adults 18-49 and 35% in Adults 25-54 New York, NY -- February 24, 2010 -- The premiere of Syfy's WWE NXT, a new hybrid live event/reality show featuring eight popular WWE Superstars ("Pros") mentoring eight WWE "Rookies," pinned 1.7 million total viewers during its Tuesday, February 23 debut, leaping 32% compared to the 1Q10 to-date delivery for the Tuesday 10PM (ET/PT) programming. During the 10-11PM (ET/PT) telecast, NXT jumped 73% in Adults 18-34 (430,000), 51% in Adults 18-49 (787,000) and 35% in Adults 25-54 (767,000), along with a 1.3 household rating. This is the best HH rating and Adults18-49 delivery for a WWE series telecast on Syfy since 9/1/09. The median age for WWE NXT was 35.2, nearly eight years below the 42.9 average for the Tuesday 10PM programming in 1Q10. In WWE NXT's 10PM time period, Syfy was the #2 cable network for Men 18-49 and Men 25-54, and was in the top 5 cable entertainment networks in Adults 25-54 (#3), Men 18-34 (#4) and Adults 18-49 (#5). NXT is a unique combination of heart-stopping entertainment and gritty behind-the-scenes reality. The Rookie stars of the series take the challenge of the Syfy tagline Imagine Greater' to heart as they embark on their ultimate dream quest to join the next generation of WWE revered heroes and champions.

A better rating than ECW got in the same timeslot but not something to be proud about just yet.

Many first episodes of new shows have a good rating out of curiousity.

Lets see over the next month if they can now maintain it or get the rating even bigger.

1.35 is good, but like you stated Admin, time will soon tell how well this show does within its rating system.

Of course getting a 1.4 in TNA means it's time to move the show to Monday nights LOL

Quote Last night's edition of WWE NXT scored a 1.24 (1.2) cable rating, with 1,730,000 viewers.

Down slightly but not by enough to have to worry about things.

The rating will probably level off around a 1.2 until the later weeks for the finale.

By the end of the season they should be look for around a 1.5 and above.

I dunno, I can see the rating creeping up again as they start interweve nxt storylines more with with the angles on the other brands...
Fletch: Why didnt Vince just get a load of monitors to act as lumberjacks? Then Bret wouldnt have stood a chance. That monitor will be inducted in to the HOF at Wrestlemania 30.

Quote Last night's episode of WWE NXT on Syfy took a twenty-five percent dip in viewership, dropping to 1,298,000 viewers overall. This is down over 400,000 viewers from last week's 1.73 million viewers and 1.70 million viewers on the debut episode. Overall, the show scored a 1.0 cable rating.

Not good news no matter which way the rating is looked at.

Three weeks in and the show is already struggling to maintain even what ECW got.

It's dipped every week so far and if it does again next week that spells trouble.

Id give this blatant attempt and failure to show up tna a 3 out of 10 .

Too bad Impact moved to mondays right when vince started NXT

and the NXT idea wont go over too well seeing as how vince's thought process involves him sitting in front of a microwave for five hours and then spewing out some half $!@ed attempt to curve the momentum of TNA ................Fail

Viewership for this week's episode of WWE NXT on Syfy dropped 10 percent from the previous week, down 1.16 million viewers from 1.30.

The premiere episode drew 1.70 million viewers while the second episode saw a slight increase to 1.73. Viewership dropped 25 percent the following week, to 1.30 million viewers.

To compare, ECW was averaging between 1.15 and 1.20 million viewers before the final two weeks of the show when WWE announced the brand would cease.

Part of me thinks it's still a case that Syfy is not a good fit for any wrestling program.  Syfy doesn't know how to market this program to its core audience.  So most of the marketing is done by WWE hyping the show on Raw & Smack Down.

WWE made promises about "new" and "innovative" program.  But they didn't really go all the way like they could have.  There isn't really a "reality show" angle within the NXT program like they claimed.

I still think the biggest omission in the NXT forumal is the lack of a viewer vote.  While I wouldn't base that actual winner entirely on a viewer vote... most of the television talent shows actually have fine print that explains that producers of the show and not the actually audience vote decide who is "eligible" to win.  But from a marketing and content provider side of things... it's always good to get consumer feedback.

Quote Nielsen Media Research finally released the rating for Tuesday night's edition of WWE NXT on SyFy. The show scored a 0.9 cable rating, with 1,080,000 viewers.

The show is just not capturing the imagination of the fans as much anymore.

With a rating like that they may as well have kept ECW which was a similar way of airing a show anyway.

The amount of Wrestlemania advertising would have bored viewers.
