Off the back of it being mentioned in the Cena/Owens thread and already have a Music version
Music's Mount Rushmore it's time for a WWE one.......
1) Vince Mcmahon. He made wrestling sorry sports entertainment what it is today. 2) Hulk Hogan. Without his work in the 80s and 90s the business wouldn't be as mainstream today. 3) The Rock. Become so mainstream he's been in movies that combined have made over a billion dollars which is up there with guys like Tom Cruise for success. 4) Stone Cold. The main reason why WWE didn't got bust during the wars and also the biggest money maker Vince has ever had with merchandise sales. Plenty of other names i'm sure will be argued for, but I think that top 4 will forever be it. For example..... The Undertaker: Hardly been seen for years and for someone with well over 20 WM matches he's not had a big percentage of decent ones for a main event top tier guy. John Cena: Never been over enough as a face, doesn't have alot of five star matches and his moveset is poor. HHH: Maybe the closest name of those i'd miss out. Proved many times over that even without his relationship with Stephanie he'd have been a big star. HBK: Mr Wrestlemania but that's one match a year. Had plenty of top rated matches but his attitude issues lower his value. |

I agree with all you have said but I feel that Flair should be there somewhere.

This isn't even a discussion until you start adding in different qualifications.
Steve Austin has talked about it, Ric Flair has talked about it, Bret Hart has talked about it, Shawn Michaels has talked about it, Roddy Piper has talked about it, Jake Roberts has talked about it, and every time it's the same 4 with an asterisk for Andre as the only other guy deserving of a spot. It's Hogan, Rock, Austin, and Cena. Nobody in the business who's got an opinion that's worth a damn (IE I'm sure Keith Hart, or Honkey Tonk Man, or Vince Russo have different opinions). BTW Cena has ALWAYS been over as a face, he's also always been over as a heel too. It's what puts him up there at the very top. Vince is undeserving because he's not a wrestler. This is for pro-wrestlers only. Go ahead, you make your Smark list. I'm sure HBK, Flair, and Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman are the guys, and people can make all the arguments they want, but for me? I'll listen to the guys themselves and follow their lead, and they say it's Hogan, Rock, Austin, and Cena with Andre as the last man out and call it a rest.

WWE being the key word though. As an overall wrestling Rushmore he has an argument for being 'the fourth guy' though. |

Another thing I'd point out... I could totally be wrong here, so please correct me if I am, but I'm pretty sure Cena has had more 5-star matches than Rock, Austin, or Hogan (and Vince).

Replace The Rock with Bruno Sammartino and I'm good with his list. Not including Bruno is ignorance honestly. He out drew everyone for 20 some odd years. The rocks film career should have nothing to do with a wrestling Mt. rushmore.
Id go as far as saying also that if we kept it wrestlers only, take ouy Vince Mcmahon and add Lou Thesz. So it should be, Bruno, Hogan, Austin, and Thesz Edited by bigfloridapimp - 29/May/2015 at 21:13 |

Interesting that Naitch doesn't have The Rock but puts in Steve Austin who was at the top of the business making big cash for a similar length of time. Randy Orton should be in discussion now for two decades of service in the same company. It's always a good discussion because if you were talking revenue/ratings you'd have in Austin and The Rock even though they weren't at the top of the business for very long. But if you were talking years at the top alongside Hogan you'd have to have Orton, Undertaker and Cena?

This would be a tough one for me, as a childhood fan The Ultimate Warrior was my first favourite wrestler but I think in terms of a Mount Rushmore it would be difficult to include him because his runs were so brief and his last runs in both WWE and WCW were so terrible.
Bret Hart would be on there because again as a young fan his matches were what stood out to me the most and still do all these years later. I would put The Rock on there because nobody has been better for entertainment value. Brock Lesnar because despite his limited appearances the past few years his matches and feuds have always been must see to me. In the ring he is a master he knows how to tell a story and produce a hard hitting and realistic looking match that has you gripped from start to finish, he even dragged a masterpiece of a match out of Bill Goldberg. Working as a special attraction has been smart business as its kept his value and drawing power high. Finally I would go with The Undertaker because my fandom started in 91 just one year in to his WWE tenure and I'm still a fan now as his 30 year run has come to a end and I cant think of anybody who has produced more memorable moments or such great character work over such a long period. His matches have always been a bit hit and miss for me but they've always felt like must see, if Taker was in the match it was a big deal and hes had plenty of classics. Honourable mention to Rob Van Dam who was my favourite wrestler for a time but much like The Ultimate Warrior his better runs in the business were too brief, and once RVD lost his passion for wrestling while in WWE his performances became phoned in and way below what he WWE capable of. Also Owen Hart and Davey Boy Smith two of my all time faves but dont quite make it to Mount Rushmore due to never really being solidified headliners. Also I cant not mention Hulk Hogan who's accomplishments in the business are right up there and few if any have produced as many big moments that still stick in the memory, but he misses out on my MR simply because I was never into his matches as a young fan, I hated his predictable Hulking up routine. For me his best moments came as a heel.

In terms of draw, it's pretty clear cut that it's Hogan, Austin, Rock and Cena.
As a fan though I gotta go with the Macho Man, Rock, Goldberg and Jericho. My fave 5 hasn't changed, but when I look at the entirety of their careers, those 4 gave me things to mark out about from beginning to end. Goldberg vs Lesnar at survivor series is my favorite match in 20 years. The gift of Jericho was my favorite incarnation of Jericho ever, Rock vs Cena was my favorite feud he ever had and Savage was great everywhere.
