The women were given more time and attention for a short time when the whole revolution angle kicked off and WWE were cashing in on the rave reviews of the ladies matches in NXT and also the popularity of Ronda Rousey as a standout female athlete. But of course the novelty has worn off and Ronda has dropped off the radar a bit and while we haven't completely reverted back to the rushed two minute piss break matches that even the women involved didn't give a shit about, the matches are not delivering close to the quality that people got used to in NXT, the Smackdown ladies division in particular is quite poor and Bayley on Raw who was expected to be the female Cena has been what could almost be considered a flop. Also while I like Alexa Bliss she's not in the league of Charlotte and Sasha in the ring.

The difference of course is Vince McMahon, he has little to no input on NXT which is why the ladies go all out delivering quality matches. On the main roster while he has embraced them more than in the past I'm pretty sure his attitude is the women have their place in the lower card and should never upstage the men.

I think you're spot on. It's an interesting time for the womens division for sure.

Watching the bracketology following SummerSlam. So far these women look quite impressive. Hard to say who wins even in the first round. I'm starting to wonder if they might end up doing better than even the cruiserweights. That seems pretty hard to believe though.

Shayna Bazler vs Kairi Sane is probably finale, but a lot of these women look like they could get signed into NXT, too.

Lacey Evans is already being showcased in NXT so I'm sure she will be around afterwards as well, but as a result I don't see her moving past the first round.

Gonna sit down and watch this. I've see the first episode and nothing more at this point, but it looks like it's going to be just like the other two tournaments, with a mixed bag in the first round, a lot of botches early on but then get continuously better round by round.

Kinda sorry to see that big German chick go. She and Shayna Baszler could learn a LOT from each other. One has the characterization of being a pro-wrestler down and knows how to sell, the other brings a big fight aura with her and has the technical merits to make people take her seriously, if you could put that all together in one package you'd have one awesome powerhouse female wrestler.

Knowing WWE they'll let Ronda's girl win so they can just do the 4 Horsewomen vs the 4 Horsewomen. Kairi Sane should win as they need to make her the star she already is.

I'm still watching at this point. I wouldn't be surprised to see that Baszler gets DQed in the semi finals. I think the finals have been determined at this point, right? I'm going blind, so I don't know, but that's my belief. I guess I'll see soon enough.

I'm just finishing watching the quarter finals, Kairi is just coming to the ring for her match.

I've already seen some losers that IMO should be signed.

Piper Niven is way better than Nia Jax in the women's "super heavyweight" group. That girl can move and makes Jax look like Great Khali.

Mia Yim looked great in her loss to Baszler. Bianca Belair looked awesome against Kairi. Rhea Ripley, Santana Garrett, Tessa Blanchard, and Rachel Evars all looked quite good as well.

And these are just the losers leading into the semi finals. Hopefully all 4 in the semi finals get signed as well.

In all honesty, Kairi Sane is rather underwhelming IMO. The only one going deep into the tournament that looks worse is Baszler.

EDIT:
Sure enough, the semi finals are already uploaded, so all that is missing is Baszler vs Kairi Sane

I didn't realize Mercedes Martinez was Shayna's trainer. As soon as that was mentioned I knew Baszler was gonna win. Kind of a shame as Mercedes is pretty incredible herself.

Up next is Sane vs Storm. Seriously don't see Toni Storm winning. I think Piper Niven would have been a more credible threat, buy probably not able to work as good a match with the tiny little
Sane.

EDIT2:
All done now. Sane won, unsurprisingly. That faceplant off the top rope onto the steel ramp made Sane's face look like a waffle. That was nasty looking.

Overall good tournament. The first round was a mixed bag with some green chicks that botched way too much, but once you got to the quarter and semi finals the matches were top notch.

I get why Sane and Baszler are in the finals, but honestly I would have liked to have seen Mercedes Martinez vs Toni Storm more.

No idea who will actually win the tournament, but I suppose it doesn't matter too much. I look forward to seeing that match and how they tell the story, and where they go from there. Hopefully they spend time in NXT and the women's division gets changed dramatically. They still need to announce how they're going to go about crowning a new NXT Women's Champion. I really hope it's not either Sane or Baszler.

I'll be there live and in person to find out! I loved Piper Niven. Can she come back?
