It's a positive to see around a dozen different countries representing out of the 32 taking part.

I don't mind Kaitlyn being brought back for name value. Also for name value it's pretty good to see Madison Rayne in E, under her real name Ashley.

To give it a different feel to NXT, they should have booked a different venue for a couple of nights of tapings.

Been watching this, and it's been good. I haven't been blown away by any matches, yet, but the characters being introduced have been pretty good. Kinda disappointed that 6ft+ giantess didn't advance though; you know? That Paige-ish looking one with the pale skin and that black haired pig-tails, that looks like that chick from NCIS? She'd make a great character for TV.

Kaitlyn has had the worst match of the first round thus far. I kinda dig her new look, but I was never very big on her in the place. After this match, I really don't need to see more of her.

Meiko Satomura however was a total markout for me. I didn't even realize she was going to be in the tournament until she was announced coming to the ring. I imagine she'll be in a Kota Ibushi kind of spot, where she won't sign with WWE, but will advance far enough into the tournament to give the rub to another person who has signed. Just like with Asuka, Satomura is so stiff that her strikes, which I normally don't care for at all in wrestling, actually look good and add to the match. You really have to lay it in to make them look good and most people don't do that in the WWE. Asuka used to, but she's softened up a lot and it shows in her matches. Satomura on the other hand looked like she's hitting with the force of a sledgehammer. A lot of that has to do with selling though too, so credit to her first round opponent there as well.

Really looking forward to seeing what Io Shirai does. My assumption is that she'll be the main event of the first round.

Also really liked seeing the returns of both Rhea Ripley & Mercedes Martinez, and also Xia Li, and how far she's come. I had no idea that last year's tournament match was her very first match ever! Considering that fact, it wasn't bad at all. I wasn't very big on her last year, but that's because I figured she was a fairly well seasoned veteran. A year later and she's improved quite a bit. Glad to see she's advanced. I look forward to seeing what she does in another match. I think I saw that she's advancing to face Kaitlyn though so that ought to be the end of her run, and that's fine. She's still too green to be a serious contender, but I look forward to seeing her continue to grow, hopefully on NXT tv.

I'm also happy that Martinez & Ripley both advanced as they're two women I would like to see deep into the tournament.

I'm really at a loss as to who might win this. I think there's already spoilers out there online, but as this has a real sporting feel to it, I think I'd prefer to avoid them. In any case I could see Io Shirai as a finalist, but also Ripley or Martinez, Kaitlyn or even Satomura (just not the winner in her case). As for the actual winner, I think Kaitlyn has to be the favorite, but I'm definitely not a fan of that idea... I think my choice would be to see Ripley win, but I could get behind a number of other women as the winner as well.

I guess I'm the only one watching this huh?

Sad because Mercedes Martinez vs Meiko Satomura was a fantastic match as was Rhea Ripley vs that American Ninja girl, KC something or another. That little girl is gonna be something after another year of training.

Lacey Lane looks to be the chosen one for the tournament, which is ok I guess. She'll make a fantastic looking tag team partner for Ember Moon as her character looks like the Ember Moon character's sister. Identical gimmicks imagined by two different people, IMO.

Meiko advances to face Lacey Lane in the semi finals and I assume that'll be the end of Satomura. I'm kinda surprised that Martinez didn't beat Satomura, but at least we got a hell of a match from those two. I hope Asuka is around in the audience to see Satomura's next match. The series those two have had together deserves a nod from the WWE.

Really hoping Rhea Ripley vs Toni Storm turns out to be as good as it ought to be. Really liking both chicks, but Ripley is who I would rather see in NXT and then the main roster more. Plus Ripley vs Nikki Cross would be killer.

Can't wait for next week to see the next match with Io Shirai.

I watched Kaitlyn vs Mia Yim, this is the only match I’ve watched from this tournament so far mostly because I always liked Kaitlyn when she was in WWE before and I was curious to see what she’s like these days.

Was a really good match, not too long but gripping hard hitting action. I hope Kaitlyn returns to WWE full-time as she looked sharp here, liking her new look too.

I've found her to be by far the most boring and over rated wrestler in the tournament and I was glad she tapped out. At this point there is only one other woman in the tournament who isn't interesting to me now.

That said, I remember her being pretty good on the mic and she looks better than nearly all the women. Rhea Ripley with her old look was better, but her new one makes her look gross. I guess so we she is going for badass heel, it works, but all dolled up Rhea Ripley is even hotter than Kaitlyn.

I gotta admit, I was really surprised to see Kaitlyn lose. I figured she was going to be a semifinalist at the very least.

See to me Kaitlyn has everything needed in WWE, attractive but with a unique look, she’s in great shape with a decent power game, solid in the ring and she has charisma and can talk. I don’t know much about the other women in the tournament so I thought Kaitlyn was a good bet to win the thing.

Maybe she has no interest in coming back to WWE full-time which would explain her second round exit.

That's my only guess, too. Actually at this point in the tournament there's about 5 or 6 women I could see being signed and making a good name for themselves, at least to the same level, if not higher than the members of the Riot Squad or that group Paige put together, that I've not forgotten the name of.

To me though, Rhea Ripley (who looks like Noelle Foley out of character) is the star. Io Shirai & Meiko Satomura will get the Asuka treatment, where they'd treated like legends and big name signings but eventually just end up being a side show because WWE doesn't like people who can't speak English no matter how good they are. Yet for WWE to have Japan's top 4 women in the business would be amazing and the matches they could put on would be out of this world.

I could see Toni Storm winning, too.

I've watched this whole Tourney and that Martinez v Satomura match was a thing of goddamn beauty.

Yes it was. Meiko Satomura is a thing of goddamn beauty (figuratively, not literally).

I just finished watching the last episode of the MYC. Strong finish, nothing unpredictable, which is fine, but did feature two great matches.

Meiko Satomura vs Toni Storm was exactly what I've come to expect from Satomura. Slow start, slow build, with and incredible strong finish. By the time the pinfall came, the match was moving very fast and hitting very hard.

Io Shirai vs Rhea Ripley was a good contrast, with a total domination by Ripley early before finally getting into a back and forth.

As far as I know, Satomura is only here for the tournament, whereas both Io Shirai and Toni Storm have signed multi-year contracts. I have no idea about Rhea Ripley, but by the time the tournament ended last year, Shayna Baszler hadn't yet signed a contract either. I hope Ripley is signed or at least will sign because she is good and at 21, has a long career ahead of her. Satomura on the other hand at 40 years old is likely to retire at any time.

The very much looking forward to seeing the final match at evolution this weekend.

In fact I would say both non-main roster matches are likely to be the highlight of the night.
