Yeah I hate the name Extreme Rules especially when over half the matches are just normal format. The Extreme Rules name historically dates back to when WWE were running the ECW One Night Stand shows which were then eventually rebranded as WWE Extreme Rules as the WWE version of ECW died a death. Better to just give it a whole new name now that makes some sense.

It’s a very strong looking card with Lashley/Reigns and Ziggler/Rollins the two I’m looking forward to the most. Will be interesting to see which match gets the main event slot.

I don't mind it. We have a tables match, a cage match, a shark cage match, an Iron Man match and an Extreme Rules match. Sometimes less is more.

Reigns vs Lashley is apparently set to headline, I would have liked to have seen that spot go to the iron man match but I guess it was always going to be ‘Vinces guys’ getting top billing.

Lashley is being built as heavy as possible and Roman is the top draw in the company. I have no problem with it going last.

Id prefer Styles Rusev to go last because sometimes the Smackdown title should be built up more than it is - however given the build up to Lashley Reigns, it makes sense for that to headline

The state of the WWE title right now is not a great thing and having dual brand PPVs was always going to be the end of its position as the top title in the company.

Fuck that, the WWE title is THE title, not champion of the WWE Universe's #1 contender match. It'd be one thing if it were Brock as the champion vs whoever, but AJ Styles as the World Wrestling Entertainment Champion should be the main event. This isn't even a case where the title match is playing undercard to the Undertakers WrestleMania streak, or some returning part-timers. This is a #1 contender's match getting top billing over the undisputed top title in all of pro-wrestling today.

WWE Championship has been the undisputed top title the world over since WCW went under and the lineage of the NWA World Heavyweight Championship was dissolved.

Brock Lesnar's title is a nothing belt, with a stupid name and knockoff design with a nothing lineage.

There is only one title in all of wrestling that exists today which even begins to approach what the WWE Championship is, and that's the IWGP Heavyweight Champion with names like Antonio Inoki, Big Van Vader, The Great Muta, Masahiro Chono, Shinsuke Nakamura, Brock Lesnar, AJ Styles, Okada, and Kenny Omega. Yet even this title only goes back to the 1980s.

Sorry, but to me, the champion of the wwe universe will always be a joke, and its #1 contendership is even less important. I daresay any fan who's watched longer than a decade would say the same.

I just read a review of the show, didn't watch it as I don't have a subscription anymore, but it sounds like the show was pretty good.

Glad they didn't close with Lashley Reigns. Raw women's title, WWE and intercontinental titles all got higher billing. That sounds about right to me. Impressed they went with the IC title as the main event. I'm sure ok with that from time to time, though not on a regular basis and I think this was a good time to go with it. From the sounds of it Ziggler vs Rollins was a very good main event. I've always liked that pairing on paper but never saw a match between them turn out to be of the quality I would expect to see. Sounds like they finally lived up to their collective potential together.

Whenever it is that I finally renew my WWE subscription, this is a match I will go back and look up.

After the crowd reaction in that match I'd say that neither Rollins or Ziggler are likely to main event a pay per view for a long, long time.
