Quote Not sure if it's something I will be rushing to watch as it shows up the lack of talent on the current roster, that they feel they have to bring back past ladies to help the event.
It's not about bringing back former talent to "help". They do very little to sell tickets because they come from a time when women's wrestling being bad was just as much their fault as it was the bookers. The older wrestlers coming back is more of a ceremonial move for the name evolution, and a pat on the back for doing what they should have done all along.

The Mae Young Classic finals, & the NXT roster is all they really need. Nikki Cross is gonna be a highlight of the night. And Io Shirai competing presumably against either Toni Storm or Lacey Lane, Kairi Sane vs Shayna Baszler, and Rousey vs Nikki and Charlotte vs Becky is more than enough to make me tune in.

I fully expect to see Shayna Baszler & Ronda Rousey to unite for the first time at this PPV against the Bella Twins.

Quote Here is the updated WWE Evolution card after tonight's Raw. The PPV takes place on October 28, live from Uniondale, New York.
    WWE Raw Women's Title Match
    Ronda Rousey vs. Nikki Bella
WWE Smackdown Women's Last Woman Standing Match
    Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte Flair
    WWE NXT Women's Title Match
    Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler
    Women's Tag Team Match
Alexa Bliss & Mickie James vs. Trish Stratus & Lita
Finals of the Mae Young Classic Tournament
    Women's Battle Royal
Winner to receive a future Women's Title Shot
Featuring: Ember Moon, Nia Jax, Tamina, Dana Brooke, Alicia Fox, Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Asuka, Carmella, Naomi, Mandy Rose, Sonya Deville, Lana, Torrie Wilson & others TBA

Becky and Charlotte need to close the show, as nothing else of value is on the card for me.

Rousey will not lose, NXT I don't watch and lots of oldies have been brought back to fill out the card.

I hope someone not full time on the roster wins the clusterfuck. Maybe for example Alexa/Mickie win, Trish gets pissed, enters to win the Battle Royal and then has a short fued for a few months with Ronda.

Add Bayley, Nattie and Sasha vs The Riot Squad to the card.

It’s a solid enough line up but so much filler stuff, it’s supposed to be a ground breaking event for the ladies so why didn’t they set up Sasha vs Bayley and why isn’t Asuka in a major match?

Also I would have much rather seen Bliss/Trish and Lita/Mickie as singles matches. I understand the tag has been booked though as Alexa I think is still nursing a injury and Lita and Trish haven’t worked major singles matches in a long time.

In honesty there is only three matches I’m interested in, Ronda vs Nikki, Becky vs Charlotte and Baszler vs Sane.

Io Shirai vs Toni Storm ought to be a show stealer.

Aside from that I really wish Nikki Cross and Bianca Belair had a hardcore match.

Its a shame that Bliss has been pulled from the event due to injury because she is probably one of the key pioneers , for want of a better word, for the current womens movement in wrestling.

Did she get pulled completely? I know that's why they combined Bliss vs Trish, and Mickey vs Lita into a tag match, but I thought she was going to try and work through it. That sucks, if only because that's a match that kinda needed her to be relevant and the card isn't especially deep either.

I think the only thing missing was a steal cage match between Nikki Cross and Bianca Belair with a thumb tack spot to be a 5 star event.

Charlotte vs Becky was obviously going to be the match to beat and it surpassed everything I was hoping for.

I wasn't expecting much from the Bellas, but Rousey dragged them to a pretty great match regardless.

Baszler is a beast and she and Sane were awesome. When Duke & Shafir got involved I was really hoping to see Asuka & Shirai come to Sane's rescue.

It was great to see Sasha being herself again, and that match which I would have taken as a throw-away was actually pretty damned good. I would really love to see Sasha get pushed back up the card a ways again.

The battle royal was fun, though I've no interest in seeing Jax vs Rousey again.

TBH I was pretty distracted from Storm vs Shirai by crap going on in the house at the time so I didn't get to watch this match very closely, so for that reason (and maybe that reason alone?) it was kind of a dud for me.

Mickey Foxx vs Trish & Lita was a total bore to me. I've never liked any of them, and they never generated any interest from me.

All in all I think that was a pretty damned good PPV. Room to improve, but not a snooze fest, and while there were some really amateurish looking botches at times, it didn't really detract a whole lot either, and really quite a lot of fun. Becky & Charlotte were the MotN, but all things considered I'm fine with Rousey taking the main event spot. She's turning into Kurt Angle. I found myself thinking: "Man, if she can drag Nikki Bella to this good of a match, what could she do with something that's actually good???"

I wish WWE hadn't dropped the ball on Asuka after wrestlemania just to feed her to Charlotte, because after the Royal Rumble, I was all about wanting to see Asuka vs Rousey, but now it just seems silly.

Probably give it a 5/10 simply because Charlotte and Becky did well, even though when you can use weapons it's harder to not have a good match.

I think it was one backstage segment with Nikki and Brie? Could have had a few more to sell the night and the storylines.

Lots of filler matches. Don't care about the battle royal clusterfuck or the final of a competition I haven't watched.

Paige should have been part of the show in some way for her role and they could have done more to try and get the noticeable absentee AJ Lee for a night.

Didn't like the kayfabe breaking end of the show. No need for Steph to be front and centre surrounded by a load of women breaking character to suck up.

Bringing women back to be put over by those who bust their ass full time all year round.

Dragged on going towards three and a half hours long.

Can't even avoid Cole on a female only event. Could have had Renee do his job and Paige do what Renee did with Beth.

I have to say I really enjoyed it and that’s coming from someone who isn’t that interested in women’s wrestling.

I did think they should have had a all female commentary team but my guess is Cole was put in there for the experience factor and there wasn’t enough confidence in Renee who is still new to the announce desk and the guest announcer Beth - who I thought did a very good job - to carry the commentary on their own for a whole show.

Paige not being there was strange, would have thought she’d be front and centre for such a ground breaking event for the ladies.

The opening tag match was the dud of the night, Bliss not being in the match killed a lot of the interest before it began as longtime jobber Alicia Fox and the veteran Mickie were never going to beat the part-time attractions.
As Rico said Trish and Lita were never that great in the ring, they were just the best of a bad bunch during a era where the bar wasn’t set very high for women’s wrestling, they also just had personalities that stood out and had a good connection with the fans that wasn’t based on their ring skill. There were a few botches and timing issues in this match and overall it all looked a bit sloppy. The crowd popped for the nostalgia acts but the match wasn’t good.

I enjoyed the battle royal, good bit of nostalgia particularly seeing Alundra Blayze back in a WWE ring, the final sequences were well worked and exciting.

Enjoyed the Mae Young final, solid hard hitting match and Toni Storm looks to have a bright future, was impressed.

The six woman tag was very good too, the talent involved put far more into this match than you normally see on Raw or Smackdown, they seemed less restricted and the result was a great match. Would have liked to have seen the Riot Squad go over and maybe Sasha Banks finally turn heel.

The NXT title match was another very solid effort and I’m glad they’ve put the belt back on Baszler as I’m a big fan of her work. They seemed to be teasing a Four Horsewomen match here too, interesting that this happens just before Survivor Series.

Becky vs Charlotte was excellent, best women’s match this year and match of the night without question. The ladies worked hard to do something special here and the ending was great and I loved that Becky went over clean with no screwy finish.

Ronda vs Nikki was watchable enough but it couldn’t follow Becky/Charlotte. I agree with Admin too that there wasn’t any need for the kayfabe breaking gathering on the stage at the end.

Great show, for me it was historical for two reasons, first I stayed up late to watch nearly all of a PPV live for the first time in I think over a decade, and second WWE have finally got my full interest in the women’s division.
