So now Daniel Bryan has been confirmed as not part of the card. Respect to him also for putting his feelings before the cash.

I hope it's not too long. I watched live the last show there 5 pm start and at going upto ten o clock it was still going on so I stopped watching and finished it the next day.

Quote A few weeks ago, we posted about the status of Renee Young, as it pertains to WWE's Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia and whether she would be permitted to travel and work there as a member of the announce team. While Saudi culture imposes severe restrictions on what women can or cannot do, Young has since been promoted to a full-time member of the Raw broadcast team as a color commentator and as such, WWE would have had to do some more explaining if she wasn't there.

-- According to a report by Pro Wrestling Sheet, Young has been given the "green light" to join the Raw announce team and is set to travel to Saudi Arabia for the event. It is unknown if Renee will have to follow specific guidelines or rules but WWE has apparently been working since September to make this all happen.

Great news. A step in the right direction. I don't expect Jojo to be allowed to ring announce though.

" WWE would have had to do some more explaining if she wasn't there."

No they wouldn't have. WWE Evolution was put together as an answer to the all-male card in Saudi Arabia. Everyone knew what the country's rules were before they made the deal. That's like making a deal with a lion and when it bites your hand off, you act like it is some kind of surprise. It's no surprise to anyone (or at least it shouldn't be) that their government is corrupt, but they made the deal anyways and no murder should change that. These people running the country are corrupt. Wow! Color me shocked! But you still made the deal and you still took their money, and you still have to uphold your end of the deal. If part of that deal is to not have women involved in the event, and you KNEW that going in, you can't very well change it forcefully, all you can do is negotiate the deal and hope to sway things to your advantage.

Renee Young is going, apparently, and as long as both sides are in agreement, that's great, but her not going needs no explanation whatsoever. She didn't commentate at the last event, and like Vince said sometimes in business you have to eat shit and like it. THAT is your explanation, and it was made months ago.

That was their primary reasoning when it came to convincing the Saudi government to allow her at the event, so that's the story that WWE will be sticking to.

I didn't expect much from this show, nor did I get much from it.

I couldn't believe Strowman got squashed the way he did, Rollins and Ziggler didn't need to have another match since they had a gazillion matches on TV together, and a McMahon ended up winning the tournament as damage control for Cena refusing to work the show, and yes, I'm certain Cena was supposed to win that tournament.

I think this was an FU to the Saudis. They crapped all over that tournament, and Shane hammed it up as an insult. At least that's how I saw it.

On the bright side, The Miz isn't injured after all. That had me worried at first. Lol.

But seriously, fuck having Lesnar as champion again...

Superb trolling from Vince with antics such as........

1) Making his son the best in the world in his Dean Ambrose ring attire.

2) Having the racist Hulk Hogan start the show with Real American.

3) Part time Brock dismantle the overated cartoony Strowman character and perform a badass F5 out of the ring.

I've found the online uproar of the event hillarious with people saying they have cancelled the Network and throwing hissy fits over the show, taking it far too seriously. It was a play toy event for rich guys that pay approx 45 million dollars twice a year for shows there. It's Network content as a glorified house show. It's not to be taken seriously.

Another positive was how well Renee pulled off the plain black jumper up to her neck. Yes she had to cover up in something she would never wear anywhere else, but it's also a positive that in just the second Saudi show E have made a difference already from shows 1 to 2 by getting a female to be allowed on commentary. Jojo might get to ring announce by show 3. By show 20 of 20 in the ten year deal we might reach a female match.

Agreed. Its smart business of WWE to give the Saudi's the two shows a year, its worth millions for WWE and all they have to do is put on a couple of throwaway events and play up to some of the Saudi demands by featuring some big names which they did.

The online uproar is ridiculous, it wasn't a great show but it wasn't terrible, I enjoyed most of the tournament matches and while Shane subbing for The Miz to win the thing seemed silly its clearly part of a bigger picture storyline going in to Survivor Series where I'm pretty sure Shane is turning heel, I have no real issue with that as Shane as a face has probably run its course and he's always been effective as a heel, it suits his in-ring character better as he can just put top faces over.
Was disappointing to see Kurt Angle treated like a jobber in his first singles match in WWE in over a decade but I think he was probably only there at the request of the Saudi's for some big names to work the card.

The Strowman/Lesnar match again is clearly part of a bigger picture storyline which I think will eventually lead to Strowman's first World title win. Chances are they did this also for the surprise factor as nobody expected Brock to win, I read he hasn't signed a UFC fight contract yet so maybe he's decided to stick with WWE? In any rate this is a move that pleases me as it means we get AJ vs Brock II at Survivor Series.

The main event was watchable enough and was good nostalgia as always when these guys perform, but all four of them looked a bit old and tired and like they'd lost a step in the ring. Several untidy looking spots particularly at the end which wasn't helped by what looked like Triple H suffering a injury as he seemed to be nursing one side of his upper body.
Couldn't get used to bald HBK, it definitely ages him a lot, the look works for Hunter I think although I think he looked better with the buzz cut not sure why he now does the total slap head but he wears it better than Shawn.

Awful show I'm fine with strownman losing the way he did since Corbin smacked him with the belt and it took 4 more f5s to beat him it was played in a way that Brock doesn't let him recover and that's why he won.

Shane winning was just wrong but I guess it's almost a big fuck you to one who has defined himself as the best in the world that a McMahon went there.

One more point how funny seeing Vince actually trolling himself with the main event.

All them 90s trailers taking the piss out of WCW with the Huckster and Nacho Man whilst talking about how they are the New Generation.

At no point in WCW did they have a match with four guys with a combined age as high as what Vince managed to book for Crown Jewel.
