Oughtn't there be a clause where WWE can back out legally if they fear for their own safety?

There should be but from what I'm seeing WWE is still going through with it. There should be something more important than money , not saying that's the reason they are still doing it but if they chose do go on with it instead of moving the venue back to the states or another friendly country , I'm out.

The latest I'm seeing is that people within the US government are pressuring Linda McMahon to force WWE to back out of it.

Yes Rico, I've seen the same thing but I'm not sure they will. Stephanie was saying once it wouldn't be fair to cancel so guess we will see.

Is the Saudi president personally responsible for the event? I haven't seen anything about him linked to it, so I can see why E will use that as a reason not to pull out.

Those who made the event happen and the fans who have bought a ticket haven't done wrong, so should they miss out on having a good time because of the actions of those above them with more power?

I love the hashtag for cancel Crown Jewel. People wanting it to not happen, but you know that if it still goes ahead they will go ahead and watch it on the Network anyway, leaving those morals they pretend to have to one side.

REPORT: MISSING JOURNALIST KILLED, DISMEMBERED WITH ‘BONE SAW’ ON ORDERS FROM SAUDI RULERS

This is one of the headlines from a newspaper stating "multiple sources". Lord knows there is enough political BS in the world and no it wouldn't be fair to the fans they've done nothing wrong but it comes to the point of just plain Ole right and wrong. I understand money makes the world go around but if this indeed the case that they murdered this man , then WWE should pull out , bring the event back to the states or a Allied country. I stand by my statement if it goes through then I'm done with WWE. It's been very nice meeting all of you and loads of fun , fantastic debates and just plain fun but I will stand by my decision. Much love to all of you on the forum.

I'm more like Vince McMahon on this. As soon as politicians started pressuring Linda to force WWE to back out, my stance was set in stone. They need to go through with it, because in the US our politicians are NOT our rulers, they are our chosen representatives, and if they try to use authority to make someone do something they don't want to do, we have an obligation to ignore them. That's how freedom works around here, and we've been giving up waaaaay too much of it lately

Vince hates to be forced into anything and will do the opposite just to spite others to a fault. I can guarantee you at this point, unless it becomes clear that there is a clear and present danger to his employees and the people attending the event, he is going through with it, and I wholeheartedly agree with him.

If you make a promise with someone and especially if you accept the product of someone else's effort in trade for your own service, and then you dont provide that service, you are a swindler. Vince knows this, Linda knows this. It's the right thing to do. It's the honest thing to do.

As for what to do in the future? That can be sorted out after they've fulfilled their obligations.

Just read a dirt-sheet report suggesting WWE are pulling out of this event as they seem to have removed it from their listed upcoming schedule.

The report said WWE will move the top matches from Crown Jewel to Survivor Series and the World Cup tournament to another event, maybe a different Network special. Another option is apparently to move the entire show to Manchester on Sunday November 4th as WWE are due to run tv there on November 5th.

WWE are in a tough spot, this deal with Saudi Arabia is a longterm thing worth hundreds of millions of dollars to them but they face a political backlash and a ton of bad publicity if they go ahead with it. Personally I don’t think they should deprive the fans out there of the show due to a act of the government but I get that they have to think of their public image not to mention everybody’s safety.

Should USA have been boycotted after 9/11? No. Should England have been boycotted after 7/7? No. Innocent people miss out on seeing an event, tourism etc because of the actions of others not themselves.

Moving the event elsewhere won't work. John you know you're coming from China for the event? Shawn you know you're coming out of retirement for this event? Brock you know one of your rare dates is being used for this big payday? Well sorry guys you will still be doing the show but for less money and elsewhere.

Yeah good luck with telling them that LOL Unless E can guarantee them the same cash as the the vast cash the Saudis must have offered to make those three significant events be confirmed.

Yeah, from what I am reading it sounds like they're going to still be running a house show kind of event at Saudi Arabia, not televising it, and moving the event that was planned for Crown Jewel to Manchester England as a new PPV that won't be called Crown Jewel but will have all the same matches.

It's pretty damned hard to believe that Vince McMahon would allow himself to be bullied like this. The only other thing I can think of is that the sponsors have threatened sever their business relations if WWE goes forward with it.

Whatever the case is, things seem to be changing to some extent no matter what at this point.
