Yeah I wondered if the Cena/Miz mixed tag was a red herring, while the match makes storyline sense I just can't see them placing Cena in such a low key match at the biggest show of the year, especially after he worked such a great match at the Royal Rumble.

Even more so coming off a title reign...if they have him drop at EC.

Quote From Jim Ross Website

Expect lots of WWE creative tweaks and misdirection between now and Wrestlemania. With many of the titles in WWE somewhat tepid, the personal issue and 'dream match' scenarios are the most marketable for the typical, Wrestlemania ticket buyer.

Could have an interbrand match between Joe and Style unless it's deemed too TNA for Mania?

Shane McMahon would fit in facing Hs for a similar brand supremacy thing as Shaneo can't fight his own sister.

Hopefully the Hogan return rumours are just that and nothing concrete.

New Day have been announced as the hosts of WM.....interesting.

Quote The Power of Positivity will shine on the biggest night in sports-entertainment.

As first reported by TMZ, The New Day will be the official hosts of WrestleMania 33.

What surprises will Big E, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have up their sleeves to make sure that this WrestleMania is the furthest thing from booty? The WWE Universe still remembers The New Day’s larger-than-life entrance at last year’s WrestleMania, when they arrived for action in a giant box of Booty-O’s. Can they top that unforgettable moment on The Grandest Stage of Them All?

Find out at WrestleMania on Sunday, April 2, live on the award-winning WWE Network.

This says to me WWE have zero plans for a New Day match at Wrestlemania. That said hosts is a pretty good spot to be in for a mid-card act, chances are the tag-titles will be part of the pre-show anyway.

Ok so plans are more or less set or pretty obvious by this point so here's what I think will be the card:

Pre-Show -

American Alpha vs The Usos - Tag Team Titles

Naiomi vs Alexa Bliss - Women's Title

Becky Lynch vs Mickie James

Andre the Giant Battle Royal - featuring Braun Strowman, Big Show, Kane, Samoa Joe, Cesaro, Sheamus etc

Main card -

Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar - WWE Universal Title

Bray Wyatt vs Randy Orton vs Luke Harper - WWE World Title

Charlotte vs Bayley vs Nia Jax vs Sasha Banks - Women's Title

Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin - Intercontinental Title

Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker

Triple H vs Seth Rollins

Kevin Owens vs Chris Jericho

Shane McMahon vs AJ Styles

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs The Miz and Maryse

In fairness it's not a bad card and all the top talent have a match, it's pretty standard for Wrestlemania now that everyone in the mid-card has to settle for a spot in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal or a pre-show match, that's just how it is. There is a possibility Finn Balor may be back but with time running out and space on the card limited I think it's more likely his big return will happen post Wrestlemania.

Whilst it's good that it's looking like Show/Shaq won't be going ahead, it's a joke that Strowman, who has had an amazing run since the brand split will be stuck on the pre-show, whilst 5 part time talent make the main card and get a better pay day. It's the one thing that really annoys me about WM in recent times, they have an amazing talent roster yet still insist on having these part timers on the card.

For what it's worth, i'm still not convinced we will get the Wyatt Family triple threat match, part of me is expecting them to pull the rug from under Harper and have Orton say he's changed his mind after Harper beats AJ haha.

Yeah with the build Strowman has had it would make sense for him to have a match, why couldn't they have saved his match with Big Show for Wrestlemania? It would have been short and Strowman would have gone over strong.

It does seem Big Show vs Shaq has possibly been canned. I'm glad it would have been horrible, I think it's been dropped due to negative reaction and shear lack of interest from fans, there's also a chance Shaq has pulled out.

I guess at least if Strowman is in the Battle Royal he'll probably win which is decent bragging rights going forward. Samoa Joe is another who should be in a match rather than making up Battle Royal numbers.

In fairness though the only match on the main card I have a problem with is Shane vs AJ, just think AJ should have a opponent he could have a better match with and there is no need for Shane to wrestle at this point, he would still feature in a non-wrestling role in his GM position.

If they hadn't blown Show and Strauman on RAW they could have built it for Mania. Unless Show goes over Strauman then the final blowoff where Strauman wins the 3rd and final against show at Mania....But the build would have to be good

I think the problem was Big Show had been pencilled in for a match with Shaq but now due to fans having zero interest in that match and maybe Shaq withdrawing it looks unlikely to happen. I think if it did go ahead there's a good chance fans would give it a very hostile reception.

Part of the problem with Wrestlemania is time, obviously the main matches are booked in so while they probably could squeeze say AJ Styles vs Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman vs say Sami Zayn on the card the matches may have to be rushed doing them a disservice so perhaps it is better to wait for future PPV's to showcase these talents where they can work free of time restrictions and not play second fiddle to the big names.

Okay... (first post in a LOOOONG while but I have something to say) but how about this alternative scenario?

Tonight on Raw, Goldberg comes in the ring to celebrate with the title, give the usual victory speech. RKO out of nowhere. Randy gets on the mic and announces that his WrestleMania match with Brock is now a triple threat.

Would that be better? It would certainly be unexpected. Or is the obvious Orton vs Wyatt the best way to go?

Thanks to Pac for the sig.
