Why do they say the Marcana is one of the most famous stadiums in the world? Football in Brazil I doubt is known by many outside of Brazil.

One stadium holds 16K and another 20K. How's that when criteria says they have to be something like 33K or so to be accepted?

Yeah they can expand the grounds but like at least double in size?

Maracana is famous cause of the finals that was played there 200.000 people were there watching I think and is the biggest stadium in South America. About stadiums that are under 33k It says ''current capacity'' so they night add more seats to it.

I have a good friend who is Brazilian and he goes on about the Maracana like it's just the best stadium in football, and everybody else I know who's into football sits there going "What the fuck is the Maracana?" lol. As far as I'm aware, the Maracana is only SUPPOSED to fit 100,000 anyway.

Are Croatia, Norway and Greece considered top European teams nowadays then? I am assuming the top 9 European seeds get a group to themselves and they are at the top of each group.

Well Greece won the whole thing in 2004, so they have a decent claim of being a top side, Croatia arent that bad and dumped England out of qualifying last time.

Not sure why Norway are considered top dawgs tho.

^Well you'd expect France to have their own group despite their frankly shocking performance at the World Cup last year. They still have more talent than Norway, Greece and Croatia with players like Benzema, Lloris, Nasri and Abidal on their side, I couldn't tell you who Norway, Greece or Croatia have.

Bookies must have lost some good money tonight........

* I was on England to win to nill, Belgium to win and Holland to win at 7/2.
* Many would have been on Kompany to score first in Wales/Belgium game.
* Even more will have been on Robin Van Persie to score first in the Holland game.
* William Hills were advertising in all national papers today 3/1 for England to win by at least three goals which got pissed on with it being 5-0.
* Bet Victor offered best price on all score anytime bets so i'd imagine Jermain Defoe at 13/10 would have had people lumping on.

Well the World Cup is almost upon us. The eyes of many nations will be on Brazil to see who wins the trophy. Who will stand out in this tournament? Who will put themselves in the shopping window for big money moves to major teams? Who are the dark horses? Can England win? Will Germany break Spains stranglehold as the best team in Europe? Will Brazil win on home soil? Or will Messi FINALLY do something for Argentina?

My money is on Argentina. They will like the conditions and their forward line has goals written all over them. Plus Messi having a quite season at club level might be a good thing for them.

Spain even though a really good squad is a tad old and you can't tip the favourites so fuck Brazil.

Dark horse- Uruguay: Simply because if Luis is on he can win it on his own.

Australia to sweep their pool and move make it all the way to the quarters LOL
All Hail Mitchell Johnson and David Warner.
