Quote 2017 is officially in the books and this year has featured 16 WWE Pay-Per-View events.

Cageside Seats has put together a list of the WWE stars who have headlined the most Pay-Per-Views in 2017.  Here is their list:

5 matches: Braun Strowman

4 matches: Roman Reigns, Samoa Joe

3 matches: Kevin Owens, Brock Lesnar, Randy Orton, Jinder Mahal, AJ Styles

2 matches: Shane McMahon, Kurt Angle, Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, Shinsuke Nakamura,  Bray Wyatt, Baron Corbin, John Cena, The Miz, Dean Ambrose

1 match: Dolph Ziggler, Undertaker, Goldberg, Sami Zayn, Kane, Cesaro, Sheamus, HHH, Bobby Roode

I find it to be a good indication of who the E management and creative like the most.

Surprising that Jinder only headlined 3 matches when he held the belt for half the year.

I don't see much change in the guys at the top of the list by the time 2018 is over.

I have a sneaky suspicion that we'll see Kenny Omega and Adam Cole on that list by this time next year.

Jinder headlined the three SD PPVS in that time just not the joint events. Roman would have had more if he wasn't down with the mumps.

I'm in agreement with Tom

I think if WWE do sign Omega then he will spend a bit of time either in NXT or if he debuts straight to the main roster, he wont be main eventing so soon.

Adam Cole again is one who may make the transition from NXT to WWE but i think he will be the upper mid card and maybe main eventing the odd PPV but dont see him getting so high numbers as the guys on the above list

Omega is still doing big things in Japan, I think he will wind up in WWE eventually but not yet, from what reports have stated he has no immediate desire to work for WWE.

As for Cole the jury is still out on him. He’s talented and has a look and attitude that makes him a good heel kind of in the Shawn Michaels mood but how he will transition to the main roster I just don’t know. I need to see more of him in NXT I think as I’ve not even seen him work a singles match yet.

I think if Kevin Owens and AJ Styles can do it, so can Adam Cole and Kenny Omega.

Also, I forgot to mention Daniel Bryan. I think he'll be on that list, too.

Doesn't surprise me that Braun was the top headliner, apart from the fact that Raw's champion wasn't there at the start which hurt lets face facts he is an awesome sight to see in action and there aren't many big men that you can say that about

Jinder main eventing 3 ppvs were some of the most horrible main events I've ever seen especially the Punjabi Prison match which even had an appearance from the Great Khali, the only saving point of that match is that the Indian guy (yes I know he's Canadian) won the match that was specialised in.

Roman and Samoa Joe main eventing 4 PPV's is pretty good they both deserve their spots for the great matches they put on.

AJ styles will main event more PPV's in 2018 he's a great champion and an even better main eventer

Spot on with your first point. The stats don't lie, as they say, and that is true here as well. It gives a good indication of the pecking order overall. Good to see Samoa Joe high up the list. Think he'll end up having a good 2018. Especially if Brock Lesnar doesn't re-sign. Or at least if the Universal Title lands on a full time wrestler.
