They were all pretty fantastic debuts. Marked big to see DIY back together wrestling against The Revival. IMO this was one of the best Raws I've seen in a few years.

Wasn't it reported that NXT Takeover was outselling the Royal Rumble this year? Don't know how NXT compares in terms of viewership to Raw and Smackdown but the brand is definitely very popular and it's clear when NXT talents appear on the main roster the fans are very familiar with them.

With the announcement that the women's tag belts will be defended on all three brands it makes me wonder if some sort of NXT Takeover angle is in the works and maybe a multi person match planned for Wrestlemania as it seems WWE are more open to brand crossover storylines at present and perhaps WWE are trying to move some of the popularity of NXT to the main roster.

The one point i agree on was how horrible it was announcing them all early doors - they could have just let them debut by surprise

Most people that are fans of WWE will have access to the network and will have seen these guys wrestle countless times - it was just a particularly bad crowd who were quiet all night for everyone including well established talent

NXT is the most popular brand of WWE

Why do they need to explain - isnt it interesting to see how things are going to unfold. The way you go on sometimes makes me wonder why you bother watching and why you dont just spend hours searching for spoilers online

I'm still hoping for some sort of NXT v WWE match that may even make the card at Mania, especially considering the way Ciampa explained they were here to TakeOver

What's the excuse for the Smackdown crowd? Dead as the Raw crowd, maybe a little louder.

It's not the most popular brand. If everyone subscribed to the Network watched it, it would still be third in ratings.

It's a streaming show on a subscription service. It's not got the big time feel of being on a TV station that the majority of fans still prefer.

They didn't have weeks of video packages. It was announced on the day they would turn up. They were randomers to many of the fanbase.

Raw and Smackdown is five hours a week. NXT much like main roster PPVs have plenty of empty seats at Takeover events. They don't sell out the same as the early days.

On both Raw and Smackdown all three new acts got predictable wins on both shows. That's a booking problem.

A lot of fans have been pretty critical of the NXT call-ups of DIY, Black & Ricochet. They're acting as if this is the final straw for WWE and they've gone too far and won't be watching ever again. It's really starting to bug me.

They talk about how ratings are falling and how WWE is just bringing up NXT wrestlers as a cheap tactic because they believe it'll bring NXT fans back to Raw. Which may be true, but NXT doesn't have better ratings than Raw. Also, they go on to say that if you don't have a long term plan to get them over and they then get forgotten about down the line people are just going to get frustrated and tune out anyway. And that's true too. HOWEVER you can't possibly try to tell me that you don't see that this has been happening for the vast majority of NXTs existence. Once you look past The Wyatt family, and... well... basically only the Wyatt family no one has been the same on the main roster as they were on NXT.

Leakee got repacked completely, and Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose weren't buddy-buddy either, yet they debuted as The Shield. Braun Strowman was little more than Adam Rose's Rosebud, and had just a small handful of matches before he became the 4th member of the Wyatt Family as the Black Sheep. And Adam Rose? I much preferred him as Leo Kruger, but at least he had a chance to adapt to the new gimmick for a little while before moving up to the main roster. There was the very funny Johnny Curtis, repackaged to Fandango. Sami Zayn went from NXT's most over white-meat babyface of all time to an obnoxious whiney overtalker on the main roster.

To my knowledge Asuka is literally the only character whose story made the transition with her unscathed. Even Bayley & Sasha went from hating each other to "they were once rivals" and quickly transitioned to best friends.

So why are people getting their panties in a bunch NOW??? This entire decade the only things that have changed for the better have been the Women's Revolution and a quick blip on the radar in 2012 while CM Punk held the title and then through 2013 and 2014 when WWE had to rebook over and over to revolve around the fans love for both CM Punk and Daniel Bryan. Then CM Punk left, Bryan got hurt and that was the end of what really could have been a legitimately new era of wrestling. (BTW While we're at it, you know what I'm going to remember the 20-teens for and as? The Women's Revolution Era)

I just don't get the hate over these callups. This has been par for the course this entire decade, and quite frankly, I like how these call-ups are being handled thus-far (all 1 week of it) more than many I've seen in recent years. Or is their complaint not about DIY, Black & Ricochet, but about Heavy Machinery, Nikki Cross, and whoever those other people were I've already forgotten about because they made so little of an impact on the NXT roster?

Either way I find it all very hypocritical.
