When Taker retires, which might not be far down the line, if he stays in the wrestling business, what role does everyone think he'd be best suited to doing?

I personally think he'd be best suited to a road agent (or producer as WWE likes to call it) role backstage, as the respect he holds as well as his knowledge of the wrestling business, particulary his WWE knowledge would be invaluable to all the younger talent in WWE.

maybe join paul bearer in the funeral business? I'm thinking probably something backstage but he'll probably retire to life off the road cause he's been in the business since the 80's. Maybe he could become like a trainer or something for the developemental leagues.

I agree with Ministry Hunter. If Taker decides to stay involved, I could see him becoming a 'road agent' in order to pass on his knowledge of the business to the younger generation of wrestlers coming through.

From Jim Ross Website........

Quote I might be naive and I know that I'm out of the loop, which, BTW, isn't a gripe, but IF Undertaker was going to retire, don't you think that WWE would make a HUGE deal of it? Can you think of another wrestler's retirement that would be as impactful as the Undertker's at this point in time? So....I am still of the mindset that Undertaker will return to the ring at the approiate time.

This thread shows just how long now people have thought he's going to retire for.

JR is right. Taker will carry on wrestling as after his career he's not going to sneak away quietly.

His retirement storyline when the day comes will be bigger than those of HBK and Flair.

will he go out as a winner or will the streak be broken causing him to retire?

I read somewhere that the only person he felt should break the streak was Kane. Whether that is the case or not i think the streak should remain no matter what.

I can imagine the retiring storyline being pretty decent - he makes a huge deal when hes about to return so i can imagine it being bigger when he wants to leave for good

I agree with JR. Do you really think he will leave without having a whole Raw dedicated to him for his goodbye speech and all. I like how JR says "IF Undertaker was going to retire" as if he could keep going on forever.

lol, if you had a job that gave you 11 months paid holiday then gave you a massive payday for working 4 dates max a year, would you want to retire?

He'll be around for a long ass time yet.

Yeah.  I think that Vince & co. are in agreement there.  That's part of why they've been willing to accept Taker only popping up for WrestleMania.

Hopefully next year he'll show up closer to Royal Rumble to set up whatever match he's involved in.

He's not going anywhere, apparently he came away from this years match with a relatively clean bill of health so he will continue to wrestle for a good few years yet. As JTB said why would he give up a monster pay-cheque for a handfull of appearances and one match per year, I can only see him calling it a day when a doctor tells him that even one more match will cripple him.

I'm hoping that The Undertaker might appear before Wrestlemania 29, with Brock Lesnar vs The Rock apparently in the works for next years Mania WWE surely will want to have the long awaited Lesnar vs Taker match before Wrestlemania 30(chances are Brock may not extend his one year deal and will be gone by then anyway). Perhaps we will get Undertaker vs Brock at Summerslam? If they book that and the Rock/Cena re-match for SS that will be a killer double main-event.
