EDIT: March 3 1997. I found the match on daily motion, but obviously this match will be on the WWE Network in much better quality.

I just watched it again, and man it still holds up as a great technical wrestling match. The storytelling as a result of Bulldog & Owen both being the tag team champions was a very good touch, so they had to sell the idea that they are friendly with one another, and while they both resorted to some dirty tricks, it worked because they were both heel, too. On top of that it was like a competition to see who could use the biggest variety of wrestling holds and throws and counter the other guy's offense. I still mark seeing Bulldog counter Owen's superplex into an off the top rope pin attempt.

I suppose if I were to knock it at all it was that it didn't build to a more suspenseful climax. WWE does a good job of that today like really never before. However the match was still top notch, and as far as Monday Night Raw goes, I think only Cena vs Cesaro was better. But maybe I'll go back and re-watch THAT match as well (if I can) just to be sure.

The match I watched wasn’t it then, the one I found was part of a tournament to either crown a new Intercontinental champion or a number one contender, was decent but short with a screwy finish, the same Raw featured a Shawn Michaels vs Yokozuna match that was also surprisingly good, HBK in his prime was gifted in the ring.

Had it on video, match was boring as fuck.

The card had Vader vs Rock, Sid vs Mankind, and HHH vs Bret Hart if I remember right.

You can't have a list of great moments without Jericho's title win in 2000.

Stop what you're doing and go watch that match. Owen essentially one upped Bret in his own match against Bulldog. It is very much like Hitman vs Bulldog at SummerSlam 92, only improved upon.

Aye, I have to agree with Rico here, the match is an absolute must see if one likes technical wrestling. I'll call it the greatest actual wrestling match in Raw history.

Found it, watched most of that episode of Raw in fact. I agree it was a great quick paced technical wrestling match, Bulldog and Owen were among the best in ring workers ever and its a crime neither are in the Hall of Fame yet.

On a side note I watched Bret Hart vs The British Bulldog which was the second match these two had after the Summerslam 92 main event, this one took place at a In Your House event. Fantastic match, even better than the first one.

Oh yes, that match was the December 1995 In Your House, I agree that Bret vs Bulldog match is a lost gem. We all know that close friends (or in this case relatives) have awesome chemistry and the best matches with each other. I may still place their SummerSlam match as being better though. But I do think the Bulldog may have been a little bit cleaner in the '95 match.

And yes, it is a tragedy neither the Bulldog now Owen is in the WWE Hall; but the reasons why with Owen's widow and Davey Boy's addictions have been covered. I would actually like to see the Bulldogs as a team inducted.

By the way, back on topic, it looks like the USA Network will have a show dedicated to some if the best moments in Raw history tomorrow after Smackdown. I am sure some of the moments we mentioned in this thread will be on there.
