Ninja Assassin
For the most part it was kinda fun to watch as far as the fight scenes go. But at the same time, I mean I hate that fake bright red CGI blood. Curse Tarantino for using it so well in Kill Bill and cures everyone else who uses it so terrible. Sparticus Blood and Sand uses that shit and its a turn off. Not much else to say though, pretty boring movie. I expected so much more. But then I remembered the brothers, or should I now say brother and sister who did Matrix only produced this movie, they didnt make it. Just put up the cash...

The Box

It was horrid. Because, I really dont give a shit. These people fuck around for like 35 minutes of the movie, should I or shouldnt I? Well, I got news. When he said, someone will die and I get 1 million, I would have pushed it, simple as that.
What makes the movie even worse is having to look at The Joker for an hour and 40 minutes and on top of it all, the plot twist is horrendous. Aliens? Really? This movie made me vomit. No one should ever watch this atrocious mess.

Family Guy: Blue Harvest and Something Something Darkside

Enjoyable movies. I really love at the end of both Chris and Peter have arguements over Family Guy and Robot Chicken. Other than that, I think they did a really good job. I marked hard to see Coach McGurk(sp?) from Home Movies in that bar scene. Theres other people, but I didnt catch any of them. Jon H (or is it H. Jon?) Benjamin is hilarious and one of the greatest voices ever. Its awesome how Family Guy has both Jon Benjamin and Adam West on the same show, its voice gasim everywhere.

Brothers

Now, I give it a 7. It was good. But I have seen the original, it was on Starz Cinema like a year ago. The Danish original version is better. Theres lots of differences too. The ending in the original is much better too, much more tragic and more impactful. I will say however, the plus side of this remake is it is in english, I hate reading subtitles... Natilie Portman somehow went from being a solid 7, an 8 and peak in Episode 1, to in this movie being a hard 10. Gawd damn she looked gorgeous. 3, the little girl who blew up at the dinner table, amazing little actress...

Fracture

Anthony Hopkins is a bit overrated because of Silence of the Lambs, but he is still really good. I really liked Ryan Gosling. I think I may be a narcissist because my top 6 would consist of 3 Ryans now... I am Ryan... Just sayin... Other than that, really good movie.

So you would kill someone you didn't know and had no problem with for money, sorry BFP but that kind of makes you a son of a BitchLOL

Le Bossu [1997] 8/10
Good, fun, camp swushbuckling fun, with a strong story, and fine acting.  Nicely shot also.

Le Boucher [1969] 8/10
Maybe one of the finest thrillers from the late Claude Chabrol, he pasted away just two weeks back RIP.

The Searchers 2.0 [2007] 7/10

True that Mr. Wrestling, but its all good. I did wrong so I get mine later, as we find. Thing about it is though... The killing is when the spouse kills their other half for the health of their child, if you notice, when someone pushes the button, at that moment the spouse kills their other half. SO. If someone pushes the button, what if they (the other people in that moment, in this case The Joker and Cyclops) dont kill her and let their kid live, but with blindness and defness? What happens? Either way...

Date Night

Solid movie, but when I rate it as what it is, a comedy, I give it a solid 3. I didnt laugh much at all. JB Smoove (Smooth?) from Curb was one of the best people in the movie. But other than him being really funny and Tina Fey having a couple really good lines, it was all ehh. Well, unless you count the hard on factor, I mean that Isreal chick had a gorgeous face, Tina Fey is beautiful, Olivia Munn is sexy, and Leighton(sp?) Meester is a dime piece, so IDK... I get more images for a rainy day from this movie rather than chuckles... *GRIN*

Zombies of Mass Destruction

Woof, terrible zombie flick. Dont get me wrong, I loved the gay couple, espcially the red headed guy, he had me laughing so fucking hard. "Yea ma, he came out to his mother. You should have been there, especially for this one part, it was so funny, he said 'Hey ma! I suck cock!'" I was dying... But I love zombie movies, and one thing I have grown to love above almost all is that they start fast and furious. 5 minutes in, the world is ending and someone just got got... Not the case for this shit fest. Its like 20 minutes before anything happens, and when it does it becomes cheese town when the boyfriend screams, as he is being eaten by the zombie, "Im bleeding!" fuck sake the writting was wretched.

Lake Dead

Continuing with the terrible B movie horror flicks, this one came on right after Zombies of Mass Destruction on Epix 3 (got it on free preview). Again, not a very good movie and it felt like I made it. I felt like I made it because I pegged every plot twist and point before it happened. I mean, 17 minutes into the movie, after the gorgeous sister gets ganked, we cut to the main sister and she randomly has softcore made for tv sex with her boyfriend for like 2 minutes. It was random and not even hot. I wont spoil the end JUST IN CASE anyone sees this movie, but it sucked. I wanna know if you saw it, if you pegged what the family was doing. I think I got it when you 1st see the twins.

Still don't get the hate for Date Night, yes it is a bit of a mess and not all of the jokes quite hit the mark.  But Carell and Fey make for a charming couple and are funny throughout.  I also like the joke of Mark Walberg always asnwering the door with his top offSmile It was actually quite a sweet film.

Wise Blood [1979] 8/10

Out Of Sight [1999] 6/10
Fairly entertaining and slick crime thriller.  The balance between thriller and romcom is a little too sign posted, and the chelmstry is not quite there from Clooney and Lopez.

My friend and I have been renting a bunch of Masters of Horror movies on Xbox Live. They're fairly hit and miss, but we have found some really good ones. There's still alot we need to see yet but I'll make a small list of the ones we've seen.

Good:
Fair-Haired Child
Imprint
The Black Cat
Right to Die
Jenifer

More funny than scary but still decent:
Homecoming
Haeckel's Tale
Washingtonians

Bad:
Deer Woman
Family

"Let the emptiness swallow you whole."

I've been watching alot of 80's movies recently. One that has struck a chord with me is below.

Class of '84
Brutal and a very good movie. It's basically about a guy named Andy who gets a teaching job in an inner city school. The students have to go through metal detectors, there's dealers in the corridors, etc... but it mainly focuses on one gang of punks who are extremely anti, and viscious. In one scene, the beating they dish out to a black kid dealing weed on their "turf" is quite severe looking. But the worst is probably the rape they inflict on the above mentioned teachers wife before kidnapping her. There's also a great scene with Roddy McDowell when he just snaps after they kill all the rabbits in his classroom and leave them skinned etc...

I don't want to say much more, but for anyone who hasn't seen it before, it is a very good movie.

The Burbs [1989] 8/10
This is a bit of a forgotten 80's gem.  Okay I have one small complaint, that being that Tom Hanks does ham it up a bit too much in places.  But that aside the cast are brillant, its a good old fashioned romp, with some great period details, and moments of real charm.  The ending will suprise you too.Smile
