I´m more the Fifa player myself, but I´d be looking forward to a review of Pro Evo by you. After all, imo, both games have their advantages and weaknesses and it would be neat to have an objective comparison.

i was gonna go for fifa this time around as pro evo 2008 was a bit shocking  but i'm looking forward to legends mode and seeing if the online application is better. is ifa any good?

Fifa has made a habit out of sticking to the basic formula and just smoothing out the edges, so Fifa 09 is basically nothing new but the old game made slightly better. The most useless feature on Fifa 09 though is the 10 vs. 10 online gaming mode... because there you got 20 people who should be divided into two teams chasing the ball and no tactical movements whatsoever.

heh sounds classic online free-for-all. pro evo seems to be getting more realistic so it is a lot more reliant on manual passing etc. the through balls are abysmal still.

basically is the mentioned free for all... everyone wants to be the one that scores the winning goal...  If you play together with up to 3 friends however (and you all are in the same spot and actually can talk to each other) the teamplay is loads of fun. The game can be darn hard too, if you shut down all the assistance the game offers in accurate passing and all that...

Pro is seriously shit. FIFA is the way better option this year. The Champions League mode is good seeming as Pro never has official stuff, but thats about it. Pro hasnt even bothered to do most of the summer transfers, even though it came out later than FIFA, which did all the transfers. It pissed me off paying £40 for it but ill just trade it in for Smackdown v Raw anyway. Dont buy Pro, its an epic letdown.

Sorry guys, I'm not into the whole sports games. Smackdown vs. Raw is pretty much the only game I have from that genre. I need the other stuff to satisfy the violence within. LOL

Currently, I just played The Darkness.

Story: Jackie Estacado is young man working for his adopted Uncle's mafia. Upon his 21st birthday, the powers of The Darkness is unleashed. This dark entity has possessed Jackie to further its own evil intentions. Jackie must now discover what the Darkness is and why it has targeted him in the first place.

Gameplay: Everything is taken from a first person perspective. Guns are your main source of combat. You also utilize the power of Darkness to summon demons to take out . These creatures are actually pretty hilarious. They'll smack and swear at each other, lol. However the Darkness can only be used in...well...dark areas.

You also interact with various characters throughout the game to further develop the story. It's a lot of fun and you gain some extra goodies from it.

Graphics: Definately one of the most gorgeous games for an early PS3 release. There are a lot of dark hues like black, purple and grey to really set the mood.

Music: One of the best parts of this game. Composer Gustaf Grefberg, responsible for the music in Chronicles of Riddick and Prison Break, the music is haunting and alluring. Tender in the charming moments and powerful in the battle sequences. It mixes a lot of heavy metal and orchestra, one of my favorite forms of music.

Overall score: 8/10. Definately a game I highly recommend. I only wish there had been a little bit more to the story and hope a sequel is being made.

I´ve test played the game too, it´s a bit too first person for me... I don´t like that kinda games...

But upon the other things, you´re right, The atmosphere in the game is great as is the music.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the first person perspective either. I think this has been probably my only favorite of that genre along with RE: Umbrella Chronicles. I'm more into a third person or over-the-shoulder type of game.

Heck, I was surprised to know it was a comic! I had no idea until after I did some research on it.
