I think most people preferred the maked demonic Kane that we saw when he first entered WWE, every version of Kane since seems so watered down by comparison but i think that happens with every WWE character over the long term one way or another.

Its true the old saying that you dont know what you've got untill its gone because im sure like most i was eagerly anticipating the unmasking of Kane during the build up and then once his feud with Shane had ended i was wanting the masked Kane back and still do to this day!

Even the best characters grow stale over time and the only answer is to either come up with something new or revert back to something that worked previously like they did with Undertakers character.

Thank you everyone for your compliments about my post! I'm just doing all that I can as a Kane fan. Big smile

@ fletch

I read your original idea for Kane, and I love it! I think that would truly be an awesome way for Kane to regain that spark.

By the way, I've always wanted to see Kane battle Mysterio in an Inferno Match, so I could watch that little spotmonkey burn! Evil Smile

I think a Kozlov vs. Kane match would be interesting, but I fear their wrestling styles wouldn't mesh well. Though I do think having them in some form of gimmick match would be very interesting to see. Seeing an extra crispy Kozlov would be great! Evil Smile

I agree about your comments about how he could use darker material despite the PG rating. I mean, I don't know if you watch Japanese Anime, but most of that is targeted for the same age group as WWE which is 13-16 year olds. They have far more violent situations on there then they do in WWE ironically.

So using that, why couldn't Kane use darker material. True, he could cut back on the lighting people on fire and hooking up the car batteries to certain parts, but I don't see why they couldn't patch into that maniacal persona of his.

Kane: What does he mean I can't light people on fire?
Me: It's okay, Kane. Just go burn that shrub over there.
*RVD walks in and sees Kane happily burning his pot with a flamethrower*
RVD: Hey, that's my weed!
Kane: Why would you want a weed for a plant?......Oh, yeah. I forgot about that.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

@ Steve

Believe it or not, when Glen was Issac Yankem he did have his first feud with Bret Hart. I would've loved to have seen them battle each other when Glen had his Kane gimmick.

I'm still blown by the fact that Glen is a natural blonde, lol!

@ JJsGirl

I too loved Kane in his masked days, but I think Glen's acting has always been the key to keep everyone interested in his character. I do hope though that they give him a chance at the title one more time before he retires.

@ Maria

Heh, I would love to own a Kane shirt, but from the ones I've seen they're kind of unattractive.

I was flipping out when he won his ECW Championship. I think I actually scared the crap out of my parents I was yelling so loudly. LOL

Hmm, different fueds. The one fletch mentioned against Kozlov would be nice.

Heck, I would've loved to see him take on Sting, Ric Flair, light Hogan's ass on fire...Hmm, there are many possiblities but Kane has battled a large majority of top competitors in his day. I'm not sure who else to pick, lol.

Loved the RVD/Kane stuff with the weed Sam. LOL Shame it'll never happen in PG WWE, the closest we'll see is the time RVD presented Kane with the Hungry Hippos board game after Rob asked Kane what he did for Xmas as a kid and Kane said he spent it in a dungeon tormenting rats with razor blades.

I had no idea Glen Jacobs was naturally blonde!!

I think the in ring action between between Kane and Kozlov would be awfull, but as i said id love to see a inferno match between them just to see Kozlov get lit up like a firework.

If Kane is thinking retirement soon i think he should give the masked Kane one last run, it would be great for him to go out as the best version of the Kane character and the version that made the character as popular as it is today.

Id love to see Kane get another WWE title reign as well but fear that ship has sailed.
I think WWE see Kane as kind of like a modern day Jake the Snake Roberts, in other words a great character that the people love and a guy with tremendous acting ability, but a guy who is so over he dosnt need a title or even need to win many matches.

But i think they owe it to Glen to at least give him a run as a credible challenger to a world title if nothing more before he calls it a day.

Haha, glad to hear it. It just sort of popped into my mind. And I do remember that part when RVD gave him the board game.

"Aw man! I knew I should've got him Chutes and Ladders!"

LMAO! Awesome stuff! Big smile

Here's a video of when Glen was over in Japan. He's not just a natural blonde, but a curly natural blonde, lol!

Like I said, I think everyone would love to see an extra crispy Kozlov! Seeing those two brutes battle it out would be awesome to see!

I think if they cut enough away from his mouth and nose, he should be all right. A last run at the mask would be really awesome. I do hope they give him time off though to regrow his hair. He looked too weird when he wore that mask with his bald head, lol.

Very true, Kane's got his own set of fans, and he's always getting cheered no matter where he goes. That's something always nice to hear about.

I agree with you. The man deserves something for all his hard work, though like you said, I think that ship has sailed sadly.

Wow when you see Kane with hair and a bit of facial hair you can really see Issac Yankem!
Glen Jacobs was so much smaller than he is now in that clip as well.

You raise a good point about his hair, not sure he could pull off the masked look with his shaved head.
Do you remember when he first unmasked and he had that bizarre hair cut where he'd shaved part of his hair off but left a length of it at the back, but in that match he also had a wig attatched to the mask. Fortunately for Glen they decided not to roll with the weird hairstyle and he'd completely shaved his barnet off by the following week.

Guess they could give him a new Mysterio style mask that covers his entire head but has openings for his mouth and nose to allow for easy breathing.

They could give him a mask that covers forehead, eyes and then has like two spike like extensions down the cheeks, coming down just beside the nose and mouth... kinda like... well... I hope you get the idea although it´s a bad comparison, kinda like the Hurricane mask but with longer spikes downwards and not that cartooney....

Lol! I know! He didn't change much for the gimmick.  He definately was smaller then. I guess Vince wanted him to beef up for when he became Kane, lol.

Yeah, I guess they thought he would look scary with the current bald look and shaved brows. I feel terrible for him though. It's bad enough he's a very large man, but with that look, he probably draws a lot of unwanted attention and cruel comments.

I wish they would let him grow his hair back a bit. Hell, let him have his eyebrows atleast!

Yeah the lack of eye brows is a little over the top i must admit. I think they got it right with the bald head though, i cant picture Kane coming out unmasked with a full head of long blonde hair, dosnt fit the gimmick somehow!
Is he losing his hair by any chance? You notice the back of his head always has a shadow on it but the front is completely clean - no idea why i noticed that!

Im sure they could come up with a new mask that would work with bald head, Steves idea sounds cool.
They could allow him enough time off to grow his hair but that would take a while.

Finally i cant imagine a man his size gets to many taunts in the street for being bald and having no eye brows!

Shit yeah, I´d be scared if he comes up on the street... way to much scared to go like "Dude, you lost your eyebrows?" or "Baldy, whazz crackin, Walnut?"
