I think most people were ok with corporate Kane because they thought it signaled him entering a transition in his career to backstage work and much less in ring work. If he dawns the mask now though it appears to mean that whole thing meant nothi g of the sort. Personally I have no idea what they are doing with Kane.

WWE, for years on end now, has had no idea what to do with Kane. He is the guy who goes along with anything, jobs to anyone and pretty much does whatever is asked of him. While that is certainly part of his long career in WWE, I think its also not beneficial to his character, because that way, whatever whim creative has will go through, no matter if it´s good or bad for Kane the character in the long run.

Kane the character will not have the legacy of the Undertaker sadly, but Glenn Jacobs is every bit as well respected in the locker room and with the higher ups as Mark Calloway. Not only that but Kane is still, despite everything a 3 time world champion and a first ballot Hall of Famer when he decides to retire. It is a shame to me that more hasn't been done with him though while he was in his prime.

Honestly I never really cared a whole lot about Kane. He is a staple and Jacobs is a guy I have a hard time seeing the wwe being without after having had him around since 1993 or 4 or whenever it was he started as Isaac Yankem DDS. but I personally have kinda taken the guy for granted, despite having a whole lot of respect for him.

I don't know what else I can say about the guy except that I hope when he decides to hang up the boots, he is given the royal treatment by WWE for over 20 years of damned fine and hard work in the ring.

I agree with Rico on this one, I think that Kane has been somewhat taken for granted. Since beginning his WWE career in 1995 as Isaac Yankem, D.D.S., he has been a main stay in WWE, even after all the crappy gimmicks like "Fake Diesel" and ridiculous storylines such as the Katy Vick fiasco, he has been there through thick and thin spanning across 3 decades.

In this prime and to a degree even now, for a guy his size, he can move. He has been a great ring general and someone that you can depend on. Never heard one bad word about him in the business.

I enjoyed his work when he first took off the mask back in the Summer of 2003 when he worked with Shane McMahon. His debut as Kane at IYH: Badd Blood 1997 will go down as one of the greatest debuts (of a character) of all time.

Although I'm not exactly keen on he idea of having him go after the Championship in Daniel Bryan's first PPV title defense, I don't mind this being a swan song last run at the top for a loyal employee.

I hate that he's back to being the Big Red Bore when his freshened up corporate character was alot better.

It's a good job Hs put him in the match because based on his win/loss record it wouldn't have been believeable any other way for Kane to be in with a chance of being a champion.

At least we hardly see him back with the mask on. His segments are low.

Thing is TNA viewership is so low at this point WWE can poach ideas from them and many fans would have no idea it wasn't a original WWE idea out of their creative department.

In any rate there's a chance they would have done this regardless of if TNA have done it previously or not, with Glen Jacobs doing the suited director of operations Kane and having his whole history as the masked Kane which is arguably the most successful incarnation of his character it's just logic that at some point he would combine the two like this.

Got to say I popped to see Kane return old school, as I wasn't aware it was happening.

I have a feeling it's for one last run because he retires as Glen has done the character two decades now.

No idea what reason he will give for going after Roman though.

If by popped you mean you had a surprise of recognition and said aloud hey there is Kane again! Then I popped too.

I respect the hell out of Glen Jacobs, but I've never been a big mark for Kane, and seeing him do this tired old spot again and showing up to feud with the Shield really just... Bleh.

I think this could easily be his retirement run, Glen Jacobs is fifty something and currently running for Mayor.

I've always been a Kane fan, great character who's managed to constantly evolve to stay relevant much like his on screen brother. Never the best worker he's always been all about the character but steady enough in the ring to have matches that are perfectly watchable.

The best version of Kane was the original masked demon when he first appeared, the PG era put a end to that character sadly.

Im thinking they are putting him against Reigns for retiring Taker (if he is infact retired)

For nostalgia purposes id like to see Bros of destruction v Shield

I know kane isnt everyones cup of tea but he really has been phenomenal over the years for WWE and if they are going to give someone a decent run - maybe one last title run - he really does deserve it

I hope they make it a monster run though (similar to that of Mark Henrys hall of pain) where he challenges anyone and everyone
