It was 117 degrees Fahrenheit. You can complain all you want but that's Satan.

https://www.examiner.co.uk/news/west-yorkshire-news/live-weather-updates-thursday-beast-14351529

I've seen reports saying worse snow since 1981. I would believe that because I would say it's without a doubt the worst snow I have seen in my lifetime.

We had it bad just before christmas, but this is even worse. Bad snow has become much more frequently in this current decade.

Buses, trains and planes have been delayed or cancelled. Schools/colleges pretty much shut. Snow day for a lot of people.

Kirklees Council (yes the local council are arrogant enough to not have the name of our town in the title, but that's another story) say they used 1,100 tonnes of grit yesterday alone and have around 10,000 left.

Doesn't shock me as the only pavements they grit are in the town centre, which makes most of us homebound.

Snow will stop or lessen, but temperature if anything by not rising will make matters worse, as where snow has been removed will just ice up.

Can't see many football matches on this weekend and good luck tonight doing the weekly shop, if it's possible to get out LOL

I'm on two snow days haha, but that's down to my manager and the fact we're able to work from home. She wants us to have safety first so no big issue there.

The worst for us is to come between 2PM and 2AM so will see what it's like in the morning before I can say if it was worse than the pre-christmas stuff for us or not.

It's pretty devastating for me up in Dumbarton near Glasgow. The snow has crawled about a quarter up my front door. The emergency supply newsagent trip this morning wasn't exactly fun.

I work for DWP and they might be a bit slow on the uptake but I've been off for 2 days and it's looking like more of the same tomorrow.

My Missus in Dunoon was saying that the snow is a good 7 inches outside her mum's gaff. Out our way it's not as bad only like 3 or 4 inches max. I really wish I was home I have been sunburnt for near on 4 days straight now...Only 22 days till I go home

Y'know what?....It's really fucking hot here in Africa. Who knew?....Well me, I have been doing this for almost 5 years

Still bad up my. Dunoon is pretty rural so that must have been devastated. The snow might have stopped (for now), but the damage has been well and truly done.

Our work are waiting till 10am to have a conference call between all the high ups to decide whether we should come in or not. Ehmmm well I can't get in anyway so doesn't matter!

We had between 1 and 2 foot with the drift. It's now not snowing so that's all over with. Just need to wait for the ploughs to come through the sidestreets so things can get back to normal.
