Apparently Summerslam smashed all kinds of records for attendance, merchandise sales and buy-rates at the time when it was held at Wembley back in 1992. But bizarrely WWE have never run a major PPV over here ever since.

I think WWE should look to introduce another annual UK only PPV like they did with Rebellion for a few years. WWE has a massive fan-base in the UK and should reward them with an exclusive event rather than just the tours and a couple of episodes of Raw and Smackdown each year.

^That would be awesome, an English PPV would be really good and would be a great business decision for them.

Could they sell out an 60,000+ arena in Aussie though? They could in England. They might be able to do it in Sydney, but I couldn't imagine them doing it anywhere else.

I don't know about 60000 but both Sydney and Brisbane are perfectly capable of hosting a ppv it doesn't have to be a big one just one of the b graders   and even if they couldn't they've never done one in Australia and I think they can do with a change a raw or smackdown here wouldn't be too bad either.

I dont think WWE has the same kind of following in Oz as it does in the UK. Pretty sure its been said WWE has its strongest audience outside of the US over here in the UK.

WWE would be guaranteed a sell-out of any major venue over here as well as massive merchandise sales and strong UK PPV-buys.

Well no UK is a lot bigger there is no comparison there but I still say they would do well should they bring a ppv here, the UFC have bought 2 ppvs and sold out both times.

Not sure WWE could draw 60'000 in the UK anymore, I mean now they struggle to sell out events on their UK Tours, and in those cases the biggest are normally only 18'000 seaters or something.  I get this would be a much bigger deal, and events of this kind might draw the numbers, but it is a very diferent time to 1992.

There are many problems that would face WWE in promoting such a ppv, like the time difference, don't forget Summerslam 92 was before ppvs were shown live here and so they just showed it a couple of days after the show.  Never say never and I would love to see it, but I have my doubts if we will.
Lifes what you make it.

I choose to out think people, who are too dumb and pick on the rich.

The time difference isn't that much of a problem, they could quite easily go 10 till 1 which is quite reasonable here which is still 5 till 8 in most of the US (I think) so it could be done quite easily and if they didn't want to start as early as 5 the 11 till 2 is still reasonable. It is not as if it is that bad for the wrestlers either because they would still have jet lag so it wouldn't really effect them that much.

I think the WWE Network shows this weekend are a big test for future prospects.

E will look at the North America numbers starting between 12-3 Saturday afternoon and it will give a massive indication to if enough over there would watch live on a weekend a main roster PPV in Britain.

Especially if a bunch of UK indy guys few have heard of can draw people in.
