Quote There are plans in the pipeline for WWE to stage a live PPV from the UK at some point over the next 12-18 months.

According to several sources Ive spoken to over the past few days, dates in Autumn 2007 and Spring 2008 have been looked at, and although at time of writing this Im not aware of firm dates being agreed, it appears that both WWE and BSkyB are keen for a UK based PPV event to take place. Ive heard nothing to suggest that the PPV would only air live to the UK market, and although broadcasting back home to the United States and worldwide would cause a major headache for WWE, its not entirely out of the question.

WWEs last PPV in the UK (Insurrextion) took place on June 7, 2003 from the Telewest Arena in Newcastle, England, with the show headlined by Triple H beating Kevin Nash in a Street Fight to retain the World Heavyweight Championship. The show ended a seven-year run of WWE PPVs that were exclusive to the UK market.

I hope this isn't another of those stupid rumours. I asked Jim Ross about this weeks ago and he was pulling with me for getting one because we deserve it. Putting one on the calender for next year would be crap. I think Old Trafford football stadium would be the ideal choice. Some would say the new Wembley. But Manchester is more central than london and can fit in just as many people. Anything is better than the old Insurextion crap we got fed for so long. Rebelion was shit also. However at least we got the first ever brand only PPV Tongue

It should BE AUSTRALIA'S TURN to get a damn PPV, lol, but again we probably only get 20,000 to show up for it but thats better than some events. I'd love to see WWE have 1 PPV down here and I bet it would get a whole lot off fans.

Actually, the show they did in Sydney (Or was it Melbourne?) on the Global Warning tour drew an estimated 67,000

If they do a UK PPV it'll be at the MEN and one of the 'C' level PPVs (Armaggedon, Unforgiven, Judgement Day...)

Hopefully it's Brisbane because Sydney and Melbourne always get lucky and the last time that the WWE was in Brisbane they had an event in March 2006.

It has been 8 monthes since the WWE was in Brisbane.

WWE should come to Launceston, but that wont happen or even Hobart, im sure about 4 to 5 thousand fans will show up, lol... But yeah WWE should have a PPV down here as pretty much all there events down here sell out.

Got that event on DVD. I have to say it's one of the more memorable foreign trips that WWE did. Look at the HHH/Rock/Lesnar main event that we will never see again. Edge/Jericho and Noble versus Huricane were cool matches too. Remember Stephanie Mcmahon at the start of the show come out and pronounce Melbourne wrong lol. I think WWE will probably go to the new Wembley if anywhere. Which will be a bugger because i will wanna go but it's a good treck. Should that event be a success, then other countries will strike gold as well.

Jim Ross Website: This will be the last time I answer this question about a proposed UK Pay Per View and I hope our illustrious webmaster never posts this query again. I DO NOT know when the WWE will produce another PPV in the UK. Once again, I DO NOT know when the WWE will produce a PPV in the UK, HOWEVER, I do feel that the odds are definitely in the favor of the UK for this to occur. The UK business is immensely vital to the global success of WWE and a major WWE PPV originating from the UK seems to me to be a layup. The question isn’t really if, but when, in my opinion. This matter is officially closed as it relates to this forum. Next.
i wonder when it will be, and what event. i still remember when there was rebellion and inserection, they were the only two yearly ppvs that took place in the u.k. they were quite cool, and good names to. but then they got scarped. rebellion and inserection was only like 4 years ago.

From Jim Ross Website........

Quote Will WWE ever do another show in Wembley Stadium? I honestly don't know nor am I in that loop. I don't see WWE doing a PPV from there due to the time difference and the perception that it adversely affects business in North America. Would WWE produce a UK PPV from Wembley some day? Would that sort of production be significant enough to fill the stadium? Good questions all.

They would cut down on tour travel as they could do way less dates as people would travel from all over for it.

It would make good business sense to have a poorly bought show over here in Olympic year, as i'm sure it would make them more money than a normal run of the mill show.

The E get 70 odd thousand usually from Wrestlemania, so i'm thinking they don't want to be embarassed by 80 odd thousand from the UK turning up to a B pay per view.
