American stand up fails because hecklers get kicked out, whereas here, you have to be able to hit back, so many American comedians come here and are humbled at Glee Club or Jongulas and other comedy clubs because of this.

I do think that, under anyone but Vince, he could have had a similar career path to Michaels, who he has obviously tried to elevate but hasn't had the breaks Michaels did. now, even if Vince dropped dead tomorrow (because he's never going to retire) I don't think he could hope for being more than a workhorse champion of both the US and IC titles.

Same here but that's because IMO American comedy is poor in comparison to British Tongue

He looked the star of the fueding trio and I expect that to continue up until the PPV.

Then when he jobs at NOC he won't look a complete jobber due to a few weeks of looking strong. E logic.....

I miss the early Ziggler when he was the #Heel, and would put people in headlocks and then stand on his head to show off and mock his opponent. His work on the Z! True Long Island Story was very cool too. Prior to all the shit that went down with CM Punk & Daniel Bryan I had Ziggler pegged as the third member of the trinity of this decade.

2010's Punk, Bryan, Ziggler
2000's Cena, Orton, Batista
WWF 1990's Rock, Austin, HHH
WCW 1990's Sting, DDP, Goldberg
WWF 1980's Hogan, Savage, Andre
NWA 1980's Flair, Steamboat, Dusty

I'm not even really sure who you could put on that list for this decade? Reigns, Lesnar, Styles? Punk, Lesnar, Styles??? I don't know. This decade has kinda sucked so far, they keep getting someone a head of steam and then something happens and their gone, the rest are just sorta there. Styles is about the only one that people have really gotten behind, Lesnar's a beast but not really that universally popular. Maybe Punk, Bryan and Styles? Even though none of them have had that big of a run?

Whatever the case, Ziggler seemed to be pretty well pegged by the fans to be one of the big names for the decade and it just never really happened. Maybe he just Marty Jannetty'd his way out of success, but I feel like it's always been out of his hands, and that's all there was to it. He failed to break that glass ceiling and get people buzzing about him like Punk & Bryan did despite efforts to put someone else over instead.

If Ziggler were to go elsewhere and wrestle, I'd like to think he could reinvent himself and become the big star he should have been in the wwe, but at this point I'm not even sure that can happen.

He has a point, no matter how much the fans enjoy your work and however good your matches are it reaches a stage where no one expects you to win and that is where Ziggler is at.

Shame because not so long ago he was wrestling AJ Styles for the title and I thought he was really on the verge of a push again, likewise with the Jerry Lawler angle, but it never happened and he slipped back into his mid-card enhancement talent role.

I would actually love to see him get a surprise win and lift the US title. Ziggler has earned his push, he’s put up with years of treading water and he’s got over on his own merit despite some lousy booking.

So Ziggler has randomly been added into a US titlle match at CofC - presumably to taake the fall so roode doesnt lose anything when Corbin retains ...

He spoke to Edge and Christian and had a few things to say about his gimmick and current role - safe to say he isnt happy

Quote

"I hate it."

"But also I'm someone who, I hate that I'm not the champion. I hate that the show is not about me because that that's the mentality you should have if you're in the business."

"If you're the 'Hey I want to be the opening guy who works for 10 years and saves a bunch of money,' (guy) that's great. But there's a thousand other guys in the back that say, 'I want to be the best."

"I want to main event Wrestlemania, I want the show to be about me."

"So you have to have that mentality. But also I've been around enough to know the score, to know what's going on."

"So I hate being in that position. I think I should be a bigger part of the show. But so does everybody else."

"You get passed over a handful of times for a couple of years, then you start to have more of a cult following and it gets hot."

"But after a couple of years of not having the trigger pulled and the eight-year-old kids now know that you're in that roll, I noticed in the last two years that even my live event matches are a little hard for me to do my job. Because when I come out and a 10-year-old kid goes, 'I know you're losing,' we go, 'Aww, crap.'"

"I've said this to the boss on several occasions, I've made a career out of almost never winning, which is awesome. But at some point I have to be seen as somebody who could win without pulling a needle out of a haystack or a lottery ball out... because that loses all of that luster."

"I feel like after a while you're proving it so much, even that becomes a thing like, 'Hey, sorry, you have the curse of a worker.'

"Or you're like, 'Hey, you're our Shawn Michaels guy, you can work with anybody and it could seem like a main event somewhere.' Well that shouldn't be a bad thing, but sometimes it is."

This new gimmick thing hes got going on is getting on my nerves already

they should have had him appearing few and far between and doing the one entrance per week and then having him cut a promo - the fact his promos involve him going away and coming back out over and over has made this angle terrible in my opinion

Roode will go over at HIAC if the match actually ever takes place - i can see ziggler attacking him before the match (during Roodes entrance infact) and beating him down and dragging the feud on abit - seems a bit rushed the match at HIAC - they've only really interacted with each other twice

I think Ziggler is doing a good job under this new gimmick but then he rarely turns in a bad performance which makes it all the more frustrating that he is only really used as a enhancement talent.

I don't get it either, he has a decent look, great ring skills and he's solid on the mic so why wont they push him harder?

Possibly his history of concussions, it could be they don't want to take a chance on a guy who could then get sidelined with a serious injury.

Either way I wouldn't be surprised to see Dolph quit WWE at the end of his contract.

Were they up for much of anything aside from being marks for Vince McMahon?
