Weird game with Essex. AO for 50 for the lowest score since the 1970s, second innings a good lead before a collapse of 7 wickets going down for barely fifty runs and now a game evenly poised.

Our record with bit part England players available hasn't been good for years even going back to the Lyth/Ballance days.

In other news my village as the best in the whole town lost by seven wickets yesterday because our heavily backed opponents got Yorkshire opener Alex Lees to play for them on his return from injury.

Can chirp on Adders LOL

Our game had about a days worth of play in total before being rained off, pesky early season weather.

Lets see if you're still churping today when the comeback is on LOL

I would say to be the early league leaders is good when for one reason or another from last season we don't have at the moment Rashid, Plunkett, Wiley, Sidebottom or Patterson around to bowl.

The next two games before the Royal London starts we have Root and Bairstow back too.

So our first match home to defending champions Essex got completely rained off for the first time ever. Dry weather, test status, modern drainage but the damage had already been done with the weather prior to that being very bad for the time of year.

It even affected village cricket with the opening fixtures all being postponed as some clubs would have struggled to get playing due to state of pitches. Not us as the best team in Huddersfield obviously. Our ground is up a hill surrounded by open fields, so couldn't have been anywhere better to dry out.

Great win against the Scabs totally outplaying them. Sidebottom retired, Plunkett in IPL, Wiley in IPL, Rashid no longer playing four day cricket and Patterson injured. Our bowlers still step up.

People have cheated before. Even English players mate and they have had little to no penalties. Go have a look at Mike Atherton. Of course this is different to the Cronje and Pakistan stuff. If you can't make that separation, than you don't understand cricket. That was a LEGAL matter. This isn't.

You can't at all push for a life ban considering the penalties that have been delivered previously. As I've said, even by the ECB. You can't have it both ways mate. Even Faf who has been done twice for tampering hasn't even missed a game and admitted that the ICC have created this issue. There is your discrepancies. I hope this changes the penalties delivered as a whole for future offences by players all over the world.

Nobody who blatantly plans out how to cheat should ever be allowed to play again. It's the only way to put others off trying in the future.

I can't see it explained anywhere why Pakistan you can get a prison sentence for stepping over a line on purpose to win cash off bookies. But 12 months (when it's mainly off season anyway for Australia) is enough for what's gone off, in something that affects the game. This is almost Hansie Cronje shit.

Those who think of cheating in the future should watch Steve Smith blubbing like a big baby with his daddy there to look after him. He did however man up facing the media and showed genuine remorse that made him look human. His reaction was like he'd had a death in the family.

Now lets compare to that twat Warner who's years of previous of being a prick.....Walking with his wife carrying their daughters with a poker face. Not one ounce of emotion on it. Looked like he didn't give a shit. And he's making the press wait to speak to him, not in a hurry to move on from this.

How the pair of them have conducted themselves since being sent home, has been polar opposites apart.

Hey guys. Sorry to be late on this. Thought you would like an AUS perspective.

So where we stand right now after the investigation. Warner set it all up. Got Bancroft to do it. Smith knew something fishy was going on and didnt go anything about it. Lehmann cleared of any wrong doing.

Charges
Smith 12 months. 24 months without a leadership position
Warner: 12 months. Never another leadership position
Bancroft 9 months
Lehman has since resigned. (still found not guilty but dressing room is in pieces)

Something had to be done and I'm glad it has been done. No way can Smith be captain again, proved he's too weak to be captain. Man the penalties are harsh though. I feel for Smith so much, go watch his press conference, the bloke is absolutely shattered.

I get this is a bigger issue than a cough lollie of a finger nail but look at the penalties Cricket Australia has brought out, they are historic really. I hope all countries take note and start doing their own penalties because its clear the ICC cant be trusted to do it.

Warner can go for all I care, absolute parasite to the team. I would have given Smith 8 months so he can start the summer out here against India. He's going to suffer enough and considering what other countries have done, making him miss so much cricket seems too harsh. My thoughts.
All Hail Mitchell Johnson and David Warner.

Baz I need you back to agree that any of the Australia cheats should never play for their country ever again LOL

Serious shit going down in South Africa for their own prime minister to get involved.

Pakistan Super League today in Karachi. 8,500 of the army to protect the foreign players brave enough to be part of it. Two even sides but think Peshawar just have the edge.
