Partial source: Wrestling Observer Newsletter

Six matches is very high by TNA standards. Hopefully a big portion of wrestling action.

I predict that Eric Young versus Gunner won't have the makings of a classic LOL

That's not a bad card, to be fair. Couple of matches on there that wouldn't be out of place on a PPV. I hope Abyss v BK isn't another X-Division squash.

After not being able to give my full review last week because I was buried by finals, I am back this week to give my full review of last night's (in the words of Joe Benigno) Stellar episode of TNA Impact.

The Positives of Last Nights Impact:

Tna opens up with a match and it was good too- This was surprising way top start the show and it was a "garbage brawl" but a very fun one. Bully Ray falling face first in the trash lid was hysterical and AJ doing crazy moves despite the neck brace was weird. The Spike piledriver on Dreamer looked positively brutal

Mr. Anderson is a heel now folks- Last night officially brought an end to the Anderson tweener era and it came at a perfect time. TNA needs a main event heel and Anderson can be it. The material between Inferno and Anderson was the greatest but they made it work pretty well. The attack was nescessary and the use of blood was effective here as it made Anderson look like a heartless bastard

Beer Money and Bischoff have a little pow-wow- In about 90 seconds TNA got the point across that
Bischoff is a douchebag, put sympathy on Beer Money and had me LMAO at some of the one-liners these men used. (The country jesus line as well as Sorry about your damn papers were awesome) Just a great vignette

TNA makes Destination X a X-Division ppv and teases the World X Cup returning- The only part of the long spiel involving Bischoff, Foley, Kendrick and Hogan. Foley saying he was going to travel the world to find the greatest X-division wrestlers had me marking out.

Matt Morgan vs Jarrett- Typical Jarrett TV match with a tainted win. In 3 minutes of action: Morgan looked like a beast , it established again that Jeff needs Karen to succeed and it advanced the Steiner and Morgan feud. Not bad in 3 minutes

How Dare you Hurt My Winter- After a match between Winter and James, we saw a shot of Winter holding her chin and blood on her hands. It was Winters blood which illicited a big time reaction from Angelina Love who decimated Mickie James and throwing her head first into the steel steps.
I wonder if Winter bleeding was planned because TNA mightve called an audible when they saw her bleeding (its a taped show so they mightve just told Angelina to attack Mickie for making Winter bleed and edited out them calling the audible). The way they did it makes me think they improvised because ladies rarely bleed and it looked like Winter got busted open the hardway so TNA smartly decided to use it.

Eric Young Outsmarts Gunner- It was a clever ruse by Young I guess but it makes Gunner look like a total buffoon. Putting that aside for a moment this is actually a TV Title feud and thats a positive as well as the whooping Gunner will give EY when they face off in a legit match.

Abyss vs Kendrick- This was more of a teaser of what they can do on ppv when given alot more time so for Impact this was solid. I still think Abyss as TNA X-division champ was a stroke of genius and I like the Art of War character they are doing with Abyss as well.

Hyping RVD vs Kurt Angle- Usually TNA just throws out big time matches on Impact with no hype but last night TNA hyped the shit out of this match. The match dissappointed which made the smarks mad because they expected a 15 minute **** classic because of the hype that went into the match which made me laugh as this proves TNA just cant ever win with the smarks

Angle beats RVD with an Angle Slam- Small positive in there just ok match as usually Angle never wins with the move. Its nice that the Angle slam picked up the victory as now at least temporarily, fans will buy the Angle Slam as a legit Finisher.

The Negatives from last night:

ODB calls Velvet Sky a skank for 5 minutes- This was bad, I mean Velvet was off her game on the mic and ODB is god awful on the mic always so this was a trainwreck as she resorted to the words skank, slut, whore and bitch far to much. Plus the storyline is the same as Mickie vs Tara feud only this time it involves getting fired from TNA instead of wwe. This was awful and WHY DID TNA REHIRE ODB WHEN THERE ARE BETTER FEMALE WRESTLERS OUT THERE ON THE INDIES

Hogan, Bischoff, kendrick and Foley talk to much- This segment lasted THIRTEEN MINUTES, I mean with the material they had 8 minutes wouldve been fine but the extra 5 minutes were to much. Nothing came out of it except the X-Division ppv and a Kendrick vs Abyss match. Couldve given those extra 5 minutes to RVD vs Angle and or Jarrett vs Morgan.

Kurt Angle vs RVD- This match was dissappointing because it wasnt as good a match as I thought these two would have. I wasnt expecting an all-time classic but I was expecting a really good match and it was just underwhelming.

Winter vs Mickie James- Just a Sloppy Knockouts match again but thankfully it was short and we now have a Knockouts title feud going forward with Mickie vs Angelina Love with Winter lurking so thats good.

Where was Joe, Crimson, Tara and Madison Rayne?- These four will be involved with the Slammivarsary ppv and yet none of them had any screen time tonight. I bring this up every week as it bothers me how feuds disappear for weeks at a time.

Like I said I really liked the episode as even though the main event fell short of my expectations, the rest of the show was really good. Slammivarsary is shaping up to be a tremendous card and I am probably going to buy the ppv at $35 to see it on my bigscreen TV. So Overall I'd give this show a 7.75 out of 10 which means a very good episode of Impact.

Willy, as usual, you are spot on with the positives, but you forgot one.

Winter giving Angelina a Message before she faced Mickie: No explination needed.

They're still yet to have a decent match on "Impact Wrestling."

The storylines they're doing are alright, but they're wayyy overdone. WWE had at least 4 TV matches this week that were better than any match on Impact.

Since Willy basically covered everything I'll just give a quick review.First of all I found this to be one of the most entertaining Impacts in a while.Just to point out I judge how entertaining a show was by my "MOB" (Minutes of Boredom),and there were very few,if any this episode.

- I didn't care about the first match and hoped Bully Ray was featured more throughout the show but whatever.

- Biggest highlight,Anderson is finally straight up Heel.I hated him as a Face, and him being a Tweener was pointless as he was getting mixed reactions from the crowd.I really liked the "Scorpion Sitdown" and the back and forth between Anderson and Inferno were gold.I loved the expression on Anderson's face when Inferno called him a dick.

- As Willy already stated the convo with Bischoff and BMI was great.I thought the line about Storm being a "Country Jesus" and using his powers to heal Roode was the best.

- I didn't pay much attention to the Foley stuff as I never have any desire to see nor hear Foley in any way.I didn't care about whatever it was he was saying about the X-Division.I don't give a crap about the X-Division like that anyway.

- I'm never one to complain about a Jarrett win,but the match wasn't of any interest to me since it was one of those type of matches where you knew who'd win.

- Mickie vs Winter was nothing to talk about.I normally don't even bother watching Mickie James' matches unless she's facing someone I actually like, which applied to this match.Mickie got the predictable win,but the important part was after the match anyway.I loved Love's reaction to her Puppet Master's bleeding. This whole thing with Love and Winter is probably my favorite storyline right now.

- Eric Young is awesome, plain and simple lol.

- Loving Abyss right now,and watching him destroy X-Div guys every week is just a bonus.

- The segment between ODB and Sky was crap. Two people with mediocre mic skills should never be allowed to talk to each other. The only upside was ODB getting to kick Sky's ass afterwards.

- The main event was a whatever kind of match to me.No matter how much the match was hyped, and it was hyped a lot,I was never gonna truly care about it anyway.I always hate it when the main event is a 1 on 1 match between two guys I hate.I almost chose not to watch it.

- Aside from not caring about the main event my only gripe is that the show ended without featuring the world champ.

Cons: No Madison Rayne, not enough Bully Ray and the world champ didn't have much TV time.

  Overall I give it a 8.5/10

The first match was the only part of the show that had me thinking that TNA was going to be alright. Also, stop calling it a "garbage match." Garbage wrestling happens in CZW, not a place with actual wrestlers.

I love Disco Inferno, but this segment was dogshit. First off, what the fuck connection does Disco Inferno have with Sting anyway? There was some decent banter here, but this was the only segment dedicated to the Title match at one of the biggest shows of the year? This didn't even come close to making me care about this match. At least they're trying something different, though. I got so sick of that Anderson "I want my shot durrr" bullshit.

You're an idiot. Mick Foley is better than any wrestler you've ever liked.

Figures. You like a storyline involving: rape, hypnotism, two bitches who need to eat a sandwich, and no actual wrestling feud? Shocker.

Yeah, also his shittiness at everything he ever does is a nice bonus too.

Yeah, cuz who watches this shit for the wrestling? amirite?

I agree with your two three points, but then look at what you gave the show.

Doesn't take much to impress you, apparently.

I'll give it a 4 out of 10. Shitty show.

Stop calling it a "garbage match".Uh,where did I call it a "garbage match" once?I didn't even comment on the first match because I barely even saw it.I mentioned Bully Ray and that was it.It was Willy that called it a "garbage match" not me so next time make sure you quote the right person.

I lol'd at this.I see you're one of those guys that gets butthurt and feels anyone who doesn't like the same things as him are idiots.Foley is better than any wrestler I've ever liked?I didn't know that fat old stunt monkey was better than CM Punk,Kazarian,Daniel Bryan and Shawn Michaels. But I guess if you say so it must be true.

Did your face turn all red with anger while typing all this bitching?
