The local oncologist just stopped by to assure us that this is not a cancer issue and merely a late post op issue. Apparently my wife has a bit of intestine adhering to some scar tissue and it got knotted up a bit and caused a bowel obstruction. Untreated, she was going septic. However this is easily dealt with and they are working to attempt unknotting the adhesion without surgery and then she can leave. If not the surgery is simple enough and will prove little more than a speed bump in her recovery. That is a huge relief.

They have a big tube hooked to a vacuum stuck up her nose that is going down to her stomach to keep her from going septic, and she is drugged up while they monitor her adhesion to see if the intestine will unkink itself. They are tryi g to give her as much time as possible for her body recover on it's own, but if it doesn't she will need surgery. It seems to be a waiting game for now.

This shit is legit. I hope it continues to advance the way they hope. Not exactly an emotional guy, but this brought me to tears.
