But then you are comparing one of the strongest talent rosters in any wrestling fed to the WWE's mediocre rookies they have currently.

Plus WCW was a (enjoyable) mess 95% of the time, you probably caught it on a good day.

The quality of the talent is not at all the issue, it's the gawdawful format. 5 minutes of Ryder doing the crap he does on his youtube show is prefferable to recap #6. I'd love to see a few more minutes of R-truth promo traded for a few less minutes of Cena entrance. I'll take 5 minutes of Drew Macintyre on the mic over last weeks CM Punk promo re edited. They could use their time so much more wisely its not even funny.

If anything, I would rather see Brock Lesnar get more time on TV. The fact that he is on for a short amount of time and that they don't mention him when he is not there is a fucking insult!

That episode of Nitro showed me they could use 90% of their roster on one episode of Raw. Lesnar included.

The bad segments would be shorter, for one, and giving more people segments that were shorter than the average ones today gives fans far more to talk about, and help reduce the overexposure of the main eventers, and very likely this would also help make the midcard titles seem more relevant since they too would get more time than they get now.

Part of it is wwe didnt add an hour to Raw because they thought it would be beneficial for them (from a TV Show perspective), they did it because they saw more money from the USA network. Nitro went to 3 hours because Bischoff or someone in power in WCW thought it was a good idea to add more programming to get a leg up on the WWF. (It backfired)

I guess the reason why its such a stark difference in both 3 hour shows was WCW was determined to fill those 3 hours with wrestling and stories to get fans to watch them instead of WWF (not saying 3 hour Nitros were good) while the wwe went to 3 hours solely to get more money from the USA network.

wwe has no real motivation to fill that 3rd hour with actual wrestling programming, they'll just want to fill that time in somehow and the best thing about wwe is their production team so they'll just use that.

I'm still not sold on 3 hour Raws. At times, there are just the right mixture of comedy, promo, story, and wrestling, but those moments seem so few and far between, that I am not sure if this format will ever truly work. Same with RawActive. Sometimes the polls are something everyone cares about, to the point the polls go askew from what production thinks, or their system crashes entirely. Other times, I don't care what color pants Albert wears to the ring, just bring out Scotty 2 Hotty already if you are going to make him dance again.

Well I was a WCW guy back then anyways, but even so I still really liked that episode of Nitro. It WAS long, but back in the day I had TNT on the eastern time zone so I would get home from work at six flip on the tv, watch 3 hour of nitro then 2 hours of raw at 9. THAT was a lot of wrestling.

I wouldn't watch anything for 3 hours straight, especially wrestling.

There is such thing as overkill, hence why I watch only bits of WWE on Youtube now to skip all the filler and CM Punk. I just don't understand how anyone could watch 3hrs of Raw, 2hrs Smackdown and the jobber shows too. Way too samey and repetitive.

In fairness, its not really 3 hours. Without ad breaks its about 2:20.

Then if you skip the "before the break" "earlier in the show" "lets look back at last week" "replays of 20 seconds ago" its closer to 1:50

Then you can fast forward past the filler matches and useless backstage segments, 1:00

WWE films / twitter plugs / cole and lawler just chatting, 0:45

45 minutes of Raw a week is pretty manageable. LOL
