Why is it so hard? Probably because he's being given talking points, and things he needs to avoid saying.

If Vince tells Mark: "Hey listen, you wanted to retire, and we'll honor, that, but when you go out tonight, I want you to avoid the words, retirement, or any mention of never coming back, so that people will talk about if you will or will not be back again." Do you really think Mark's gonna say: "No Vince, I'm my own man and I want to retire so I'm going to tell people I'm retiring." ???

I had to go back and look through the thread again to be sure, but I didn't think I HAD said that I didn't understand why people were shitting on it.

What I don't understand is why people are so over the top enraged. WWE has been doing this stuff for EVER. Why should this of all things be so upsetting? Why not be upset that CM Punk was promised all these changes and they were just empty placations just to make money off his surging popularity? Why not get upset at the hypocrisy of their business practices? Why not be upset that WWE mishandles creative of talent from WCW every chance it gets. Why not get upset that their drug policy only applies to certain people but not others? Why not get upset that the creative team busts their ass for essentially no reason because Vince is going to throw it away and start over from scratch hours before the show anyway? But Undertaker won't actually say outright he has retired so that's where you draw the line?

Don't get me wrong, I don't actually care. Whatever floats your boat man, to each his own, but it just seems weird is all.

And for the record I don't disagree with anything you've said, but in the grande scheme of things... /Shrug maybe you're just a really big Undertaker fan? If so, that's cool. I understand that.

Honestly, when he said "Rest In Peace" I heard some serious hesitation and when you consider how he broke character at Wrestlemania prior I would say that it's pretty obvious that he is retiring.
It's impossible to know all of the details of the Wrestling business...So, how about instead of being a pretend booker we all go back to being fans?

I'm in two minds

On one hand I grew up watching the Undertaker from the lord of darkness to big evil to the deadman I have watched him dominate the entire WWE and loved every second of it the fan in me does not want him to go and honestly I would like to see him go out in a much better match not the one like last years mania match.

On the other hand he will be 53 soon and he's really starting to show his age, he can't do a lot of the moves he once could like his leaping clothesline so it just makes it hard to see sometimes.

If he is retired then WWE need to come out and say it and not just Roman Reigns bragging about retiring him they need to actually say that he is retired and if that's the case then he of all people deserves a proper send off much like Shawn Micheals and Ric Flair got we would like to see him say goodbye properly not just hint at it because its his damn character.

The match with Cena is not worth his career and its not worth battering his body over it either he should be home spending time with his wife and kids.

Quote The gong sounds and The Undertaker comes out to the ring to a huge ovation from the crowd. Taker steps in the ring as the crowd chants his name. Undertaker picks up the mic and addresses Triple H. He says he's never seen a man with a more broken soul than Triple H. Taker says Triple H's delusion will be his downfall, and he can't see the fear in his own friends' eyes for his demise. Taker says he will put Triple H 6 feet under, and then it's game over. The crowd pops as Triple H says he cannot outrace The Reaper, and he says that even his friend the WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels can't save him. Taker says if Shawn wants to be in Triple H's corner, that's fine, because his brother Kane will be in his corner. Taker says he took Shawn's career, and Triple H's career is next. Taker says at Super Show-Down, with his brother watching his back, Triple H will rest in peace. The gong tolls and Taker slowly makes his exit.

Wow he looked so old. The gimmick makes him look older but his skin looked like the worn leather of a sofa.

Only in wrestling could it make people believe someone of his age and look and career injuries can come back from time to time and usually win.

I'm glad the segment was kept short, so I won't be negative about nobody interupting him.
