Yeah, I have to say that I do have a soft spot for Scott Hall, if only because despite his addled brain from drink and drugs, he's still got a fair few intelligent working brains cells left and he takes responsibility for his problems as well. He doesn't blame anyone else but himself for them. I mean, he can be a prick at times himself and he does talk himself up a bit at times as well, but sometimes I think he deserves to because he was a great worker and he could work with anyone of any size and shape.

The one thing that I honestly wish he would seek help for though is the killing that occurred because I think that still troubles him really badly to this day. I watched a shoot of his and when he started to cry when talking about Chris Benoit it seemed to me like it was as though he'd understood because he'd recognised that at one time he hadn't been that far from something like that himself, you know?

Granted that's true, but Hulk Hogan himself was dropping kayfabe all over the place, calling Bully Mark and all that crap, so it's not like she was the only one and to be honest, in my opinion, it's worse to drop the kayfabe inside the ring during a promo which is what Hulk Hogan kept doing, and what James Storm has been guilty of before now, than what Brooke had done by getting engaged to someone outside the business.

I can't say I'm unhappy at her being fired, but I'll still say it's a stupid reason when others have been guilty of the same thing and in a worse situation.

Well it's one thing to have to suspend your disbelief, but it's another when you've got one story headlining your wrestling show and another news headline directly conflicting with what your doing. In any case they're only talking as if that's what got her fired. I doubt either one of them know for certain, I think they're just giving their heat to her for breaking kayfabe.

As for Scott, man tell me one guy who was NOT a dick in the wrestling business not named Randy Savage? They all have their fair share of dicketry going on at some point in time. But yeah, Scott's best joke that got taken seriously was when he entered the WWE lockerroom and mentioned how he couldn't wait to kick out of Austin's stunner. lol Sorry that just makes me laugh, but then I totally GET his sense of humor too.

It was actually the Dudley Death Drop if Chris Jericho is to be trusted. I've also heard that the Poffos (pre-WWF) tried to get themselves booked on Memphis shows out of the blue, and when the Memphis territory said no (because it was their territory, after all, they had the right to book whom they pleased) they hung around after Memphis shows and roughed up some of the Memphis wrestlers. Not to mention being incredibly overprotective of Elizabeth and being hostile towards anyone who looked sideways at her. Savage wasn't exactly blameless haha.

I think the wrestling business's biggest problem is that it truly brings out the worst in everyone. The constant traveling, the low pay days for the lower level guys, the politics of constantly having to stab others in the back for your best chance of success, etc.

?? OH you mean it was not the stunner it was the Dudley death drop? Yeah it was some big finisher. I crack up every time I think about that though because it totally sounds like something Hall would say to rib some one he thinks is a bit of a mark for themselves. At the end of the day though when it came to taking the 3, Hall was a pro.

So I'm listening to the Steve Austin show religiously now, a new episode is uploaded every Tuesday and Thursday, and he is currently changing things up a bit over there. He's now got a PG Steve Austin show on Tuesday's and on Thursdays he's completely uncensored.

But he's now also talking about adding a third weekly episode where he gets a small panel of wrestlers together and they break down and analyze and critique the latest episode of Monday Night Raw.

Now, I don't know about you guys, but I have a feeling that if he DOES add that third show it could end up being the best bit of wrestling oriented programming each and every week and even better than Raw itself. I'm hoping he does pull the trigger on this. And also considering his network of close friends and who is available, I could conceivably see a guy like Scott Hall and/or Kevin Nash (because WTF else do these guys have to do right?) being members of his panel. I would include DDP since Austin is always saying that DDP is his all-time best friend in the business, but DDP has too much stuff going on, however maybe he will make occasional appearances despite his busy schedule.

Just wanted to say if you have never listened to this show yet, his interview with Rowdy Roddy Piper is a good place to start, and if you haven't been keeping up, that show is a must listen.

they say the movie the wrestler was taken generously from Roberts life. They could get another oscar worthy sequel out of Piper's life. The shit he went through as a kid and was willing to open up about was jaw dropping horrible. From the arm caught in the washing machine, to the singing to try and scare away wolves, getting run over by a drunk and left there, to being accused of rape when he was 6, god I wanted to cry for the guy. And that was just the stuff he was willing to talk about. You could tell there was a lot more that was even worse.

seriously, listen to the 2 part Piper interview Austin does. Simply amazing.

I fucking love this show. Austin is one of the greatest storytellers in history man (and I don't mean storyteller in wrestling terms). Him shooting the shit with some retired wrestler or retired wrestling personality or current wrestler is a great listen.

I listened to the one with DDP from last month yesterday and it was 92 minutes of awesomeness with two of the greatest talkers in wrestling history.

I haven't listened to the new ones because I haven't been travelling lately, but this weekend I am heading back to Stanford so I be listening dur7ng that trip. I have been saving them up for thse long drives.

I don't know if he has done any better ones yet, but I have listened to every one up until the last couple weeks and his very best ones are with DDP, and Piper. I would say Hall and Nash come next then probably Bret and Cornette. His ones on the ranch without anyone to interview are surprising good too., especially if he is with his friend Ted Fowler who works with him on the ranch.

Listening to Austin has really fine-tuned the way I look at wrestling and my expectations of wha I want to see. I really do not kid when I say this is the best wrestling show put out every week. It educates me, it makes me laugh hard at times, it is always entertaining. I just wish he had picked up that third weekly show where he had a roundtable breakdown of the week's monday night raw.

I HOPE TO GOD that this is true. WWE in many ways is catering to indy fans. They have a ton of wrestling matches on the show that are very entertaining and don't mean anything, and the only thing we as fans can do to pick what wrestlers we like is to go on the individual talents and pick and choose who to cheer from that alone since the vast majority of the roster either has no character or not a good enough character to influence crowds one way or the other.

Suppose when this change took place was when fans were pretty unhappy about the wrestling quality a few years ago, when fans were clamoring for more wrestling and less storylines/dance offs/other bullshit (granted Russo pissing people off with that didn't help), and now it's swung too far in the other direction. If there's one thing we learned from Raw in 2013 it's that you absolutely need storytelling and meaningful matches in wrestling. I know that many of you may think that they are being counter productive because first, they dumb down move sets and tell commentators to ignore wrestling holds. Now they want to focus on ring work. As I think on this topic more, I feel that having big storylines needs to continue to happen, however. If they focus too much on ring work, sure, the matches will be better in general. But, in the same breath, what makes a great match even better is the story behind it.

Admin's Note: I've just gave a random show a first time listen and weren't impressed. I think he tries too hard to be cool with lots of unnecessary swearing. He went on way too long talking about rats. Who cares about them? I shall give another show a listen to see if it gets any better.
