I can't fucking believe this.

Normally I just have fun threatening the guy and sticking a gun in his face, and shooting him in the foot because it's hilarious. Damn I feel like a real bullying asshole now. This story is great!

I've never seen any of this before. Friggen Conrad Verner the superfan! All that detail, all that depth, and the guy's a hero that gets a happily ever after if you do everything right in the first game.

Once again, Mass Effect shows me that for as much as I think I know, there's still more depth for me to discover.

Ho - lee shit this is the funniest thing ever (assuming you are well versed in Mass Effect's game world).

I don't know how I ever missed this thing. In the presidium commons there is a blasto 6 advertisement, you can click on it and get audio of scenes from the movie.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
They picked the BEST aliens to make this movie. I'd heard commercials several times for Blasto the Hannar Spectre and it sounded like a great joke, but they really took it to the next level with the scenes.
The Elcor side kick, the Volus police chief, the Elcor whore, and the Vorcha bad guy. It's a crazy mix of xenophobic stereotypes taken to the extreme.
Badassfully is my new favorite adjective. I laughed a little harder every single time the elcor said it. Same with the elcor whore saying Coquettishly.
Best lines:
"This one wonders if a prothean has descended from the heavens to inhabit your body, because this one would enjoy enkindling that." - I'd hit that
"You may engage in courtship rituals with this one's gastro dermal lining." - Kiss my ass
"Bubin: Badassfully, Hey, man, that's my sister.
Blasto: Your progenitor's genetic propensity for attractiveness was passed only to her." - You're ugly
"Are you engaging in reproductive behavior with this one?" - Are you fucking with me?
"Badassfully: Hold it spectre, we do this one by the book.
You may hold the book, while this one opens another excretion vent on the Vorcha ambassador." - I'm going to open up a can of whoop ass.
"This one has forgotten whether its pistol is equipped with incendiary ammunition. Does the criminal scum consider itself fortunate?" - Do you feel lucky, punk?
"Elcor whore: Coquettishly, that's right baby. Tell me your soul name.
Blasto: It is whatever you wish it to be, Polyp.
Bubin: Badassfully, what the hell is going on here. Are you sleeping with my sister.
Blasto: Slumber would be difficult due to the energetic nature of our copulation.
Bubin: Badassfully, damnit, Blasto, that's it. You and me. Outside, now.
Elcor Whore: Coquettishly, please don't hurt him.
Blasto: This one promises not to hurt your brother.
Bubin: Badassfully, I did not ask to be partnered with you, Blasto.
Blasto: No solid waste excrement."
Especially on PC, you expect to see graphics that don't take several steps backwards. This game was heavily featured as PlayStation 4's 4k definition premier game. So what happens is everyone expects not just the graphics to be good, but by association the art-style and animations to be good, too. Sure, maybe we can see all these crazy stupid animations clearly in 4k definition, but so what!? People expect it to be polished all the way around or it feels like everyone involved in hyping the game, from PlayStation to BioWare, to Electronic Arts have all been lying to them.
I wouldn't even begin to compare what I've seen from Mass Effect: Andromeda with Uncharted 4. I wouldn't even begin to compare Witcher 3 or MGS5 with Uncharted 4. I mean Uncharted 4's characters look so real, I don't know where to even nitpick at it. Just go do a search for "Uncharted 4 graphics" and see what you come up with.
And this isn't about "oh look how great Uncharted 4 is!" that's not my point. My point is that game came out last summer on a f**king console! Why the hell hasn't the PC come up with SOMETHING vastly superior to that by now??? Console gaming graphics are always (up until now at least) head and shoulders above anything a console can produce, so as a PC Gamer, I hear all this hype leading up to the release of MEA about it's incredible graphics, and then I'm shown THIS!? What!? Are you f**king kidding me? It's insulting.
Yes, the game may be pretty good. It may even be VERY good. But I think it's already pretty well established it's no where near as good a game as Mass Effect 2 was, and the graphics are... well ok, but nothing to write home about.
What's more? If I had heard Mass Effect: Andromeda wasn't as good as the original trilogy, but it's still Mass Effect and it's really fun, I'd have signed up right away and been hyped for it regardless. It's the feeling that I've been lied to that really turns me off from this game more than anything.
This video actually makes me want to buy it because that's essentially the message I got from them. It's Mass Effect and it's good, but it's not as good as Mass Effect 2. OK That's fair, I believe that, and I'm fine with that. I'm understanding enough to realize Mass Effect 2 set the bar ridiculously high in terms of overall game quality, so it's going to be hard for ANYONE, let alone the people that made Mass Effect 2 to top that. That's like asking whichever music artist you like best to write a song better than your favorite of all time, I mean, maybe they can do it, but probably not, yet so long as it's in the ballpark it's pretty easy to enjoy it anyway.
I'll probably actually get the game now, up until now I've been pretty much set against wasting my money because who knows what else they've lied about and how much worse it actually could be. Now that I at least know it's a worthy addition to the Mass Effect gaming universe, even if it's not as good as ME2, I know much better what to expect and I can go in with an open mind and enjoy it for what it is.
