Really cannot get enough of this game. I'm on my 4th or 5th playthrough from the beginning. Just got to Illium and talked with the Asari Matriarch/Bartender. She might be my favorite ancillary character in the game.

Rumors say she's Liara T'Soni's father / Matriarch Benezia's mate.

PS. This guy's fem-shep looks a lot like Bo Dallas to me. :p

I'm hoping against all odds Bioware decide do do Mass Effect 4: Spawn of Shepherd. Where if you were a Male Shep your Paramour ends up with your kid (Unless you picked Homosexual). Or if Fem Shep or Gay/Lesbian Liara uses your DNA to replicate in that weird way her Asari do.

Or they do the prequel with Anderson that I heard about.

I really can't wait to see both Dragon Age 3 and Mass Effect 4.

TBH I would probably rather see the Lazerus project #2 bring Shepard back AGAIN, but even so, I love the mass effect galaxy.

I think the Shepherd story has run it's course....even though it would be nice to know if the breath at the end was a life saving or life ending one. I like the Idea of playing as shepherds kid strating from the Academy (Tutorial mission) all the way up to making their own way despite the father's success always being the measuring stick. Just seems to me there could be a lot of life in the story.

It has run its course, you are right, but it does seem like the lazerus project worked once, why wouldn't they do it again?

It is gonna be hard for a crew not involving Drew Karpyshyn to live up to the original cast. I would almost rather see Shepard brought back to deal with the dark matter problems the reapers were trying to solve. Originally, the reapers were supposed to actually be misguided saviors just like they claimed to be. There was a lot of setup in me2 pointing towards the dark matter problems. I would love to see that storyline get finished. I can only hope/imagine that is still where they are taking this series into the future.

Good shout with the dark matter issues. Although like i say the rumour I head was the next ME game will be focusing on Andersons Exploits

Yeah, I'm not so big on that. I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm sure if they go that route I would like it well enough, but it just wouldn't be (to me) as good as if they were to finish Drew Karpyshyn's story and delve into the dark matter problems he was setting up.

Personally, I'd rather see Shepard memorials on the Citadel, Earth, Tuchanka, Ranoch etc. and maybe see Krogan clan leader Urdnot Grunt, Matriarch Liara T'Soni, and such things like that while trying to figure out the problem the Reapers died trying to address, than to go backwards in time with a sequential successor to the Mass Effect series.

"Mass Effect Origins" or some such title would completely alleviate any reservations I have about the direction of their next mass effect game, but to me, the dark matter issues are where "Mass Effect 4" needs to lead.

"Probably very late to that party: Mass Effect... any part of it. Just recently got my hands on the first two and am completely hooked. Only installed the third today... will start that as soon as I got a character through the first two the way I like it. XD"

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My recommendation? Play the series twice, as a combination of male/female and renegade/paragon. My femshep was a paragon the entire time, and she was a little less interesting IMO because of being a paragon, so I played her first when the game was new. After that, I played again as a male Shepard, and was 90% renegade (except when it led to the death of someone I liked, or completely fucked up my chances of getting an outcome I wanted later in the game). RenShep is hilarious and a badass through and through, and beats the crap out of, or kills everybody.
Also different romance options for each Shepard.
Other than that, have fun! Best game trilogy ever IMO.
Oh also! Get the DLC! You probably can skip ME1 DLC if you feel so inclined, but Bring Down the Sky or whatever it's called is actually very much worth while.
In Mass Effect 2 you simply must have Lair of the Shadow Broker, Kasumi, and Zaeed, and recommend Overlord as well.
In Mass Effect 3 you must have the Extended Cut, Citadel, From the Ashes (Javik the prothean team mate), and Leviathan, and I also recommend Omega.
I love this series I just wish I could still play it (When I started to work in africa I gave my ps3 to a friend who lives in glasgow) I wish it was possible to rework it for the PSVita. Still very very good games and Do like the DLC in ME 2, Shadow Broker and Kasumi especially. I got all the ME 3 DLC and Omega was so worth it, from the ashes was good but too easy IMO.
EDIT:- Just saw Mass Effect 4 available for preorder....Oh Mi Gawd, Oh Mi Gawd, Oh Mi Gawd. Cant wait to play that bad Boy
I did it the other way around. The first character I made was male, totally goody two shoes. The second was a female badass of the 10th order XD. I mostly play them however I feel like though, so my current character turns out to be a bit of both with a slight paragon edge.
As for the DLC´s, I got all for ME1, all but Zaeed for ME2 and still have to check for the ME3 DLC´s. (I haven´t started playing ME3 yet either. I just started over from the very beginning and will play this current Shep all the way to the end of ME3)
