Quote The first installment in the adaptation of Stephen King’s “The Dark Tower” franchise will bow on Jan 13, 2017. Nikolaj Arcel is directing.

BOOM!

This needs to surpass HBO's adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones). The Dark Tower series is better in every way shape and form.

1. Learn to hyperlink motherfucker.

2. "But...dragons"

3. It doesn't compare to The Stormlight Archives

I'm stilled pumped over this though, I heard they plan to film the movie then jump straight into the TV series afterwards.

Any word on cast yet? a 20 years younger Clint Eastwood nails my perception of Roland. From the top of my head the best person I can come up with so far is Kurt Russell.

1. One day maybe I will, for now I can't, not in Windows 10... it's pissing me off, they always fail.

2. Shardik

3. Never heard of it... will have to learn I guess... In any case, fuck ASoIaF.

Talks are Viggo Mortensen (Aragorn from LotR) for Roland, and Aaron Paul (Jesse from Breaking Bad) for Eddie Dean, but I'm 95% sure it's all speculation on the cast for the moment. Other names getting tossed around are Hugh Jackman and Hugh Laurie for Roland, but it seems Aragorn is the frontrunner.

EDIT: Still...
"You have forgotten the face of your father."

Viggo I could totally see as Roland.
Aaron Paul is not Eddie material, it either needs to be a complete unknown or someone like the young guy from Mad Max or Kingsman.

Idris Elba to play Roland and Matthew McConaughey to play the Man in Black, As much as I like Idris Elba he's nothing like how I pictured Roland. It could work out well, as it immediately stops me comparing him to a younger Clint Eastwood who would be perfect for the role.

Yeah, actually, it works. Not what I would have imagined, but it's not hard for me to wrap my head around it, and see him as Roland. I hope this really does develop and the movie gets into filming soon.
