Jim Ross Website: I heard rumors of HBK retiring. Is it true? I really think that only HBK can outmatch even younger superstars in the roster. I was not yet that all-grown up when HBK was in a relatively healthy condition. I do not know which things he have done in the past that he is now incapable of doing because as far as I am concern he can still pull off some great stunts and exhibitions. Much and way better than the younger ones..What are you thoughts on that?

HBK is one of the all time greats who fans should cherish at this stage of his vaunted career. However, he has never discussed with me any retirement plans but I do think he will continue to wrestle a lighter schedule than in the old days. That’s not a bad philosophy for any wrestler.

yes this guy is right, but what this guy doesnt take into account is how much harder hbk has to work to pull these great matches and stunts off. with damaged knees and back, he fights through the pain all the time, that is why he is one of my favorite all time greats, because he still competes at a level most superstars half his age do, and he never really has to slow the match down to do it, look at that awesome match againest jeff hardy and the matches againest cena and you will see it. he has wanted to retire for a while now, i hope when he finally does call it quits, which hopefully wont be for another couple of years, that he has his last match at wrestlemania againest undertaker maybe. hbk vs undertaker one last time.Clap

From Jim Ross Website............

Quote good day to ya! shawn michaels is one of the greatest wrestlers of all time if not the greatest. however, it was during his time as champ that wcw won much of the ratings war. what’s your take on his drawing power as champ?

I am a firm believer than one did not have a great deal to do with the other. If one is inferring that HBK was an inadequate champ then I would disagree. Creative and the competition has a ton to do with the success of any title run. HBK may actually be a better in ring "general" than he was duringthe period you eluded to.

This fan is surely not blaming HBK for WCW winning the ratings war.....There's many other aspects that make up a show and so it's unfair to have a go at him. If he gets another run with the belt, I would probably mark out as if it was his first title run. Unlike other wrestlers who don't change with the times. Shawn himself as realised he needs to slow down and therefore added more moves to his game. He's also pretty good at cutting heel promos and being back babyface again not long after.

Jim Ross Website: hey J.R. do you think HBK gets enough credit for wrestling with his broken back at WM 14, i know he was hard to work with back then but still. also is HBK lilian garcia’s favorite wrestler because when she announces him to the ring she has a little extra flair (not ric) and when hes in the ring doin his thing, or the DX thing before the match shes always smiling and i never see her do that when someone else is in the ring can you ask her and post it thanks

You never know James, Miss Lilian just may be sweet on HBK who is happily married I should add. HBK is second only to Naitch when it comes to the in ring stuff on many fans lists.

second to naitch in ring? if he means accomplishment wise, then yes, actural in ring abillity all round? no way in my opinion. i wonder if we will ever see another hbk world/wwe title run? i never saw much of his older ones, and would love to see a last run with the belt, maybe when cena does get his next title run, have hbk beat him in another one of thier classic matches. that would be great.Clap

I think Shawn was very brave to wrestle a main event or any match for that matter with such a serious injury. He could have ended up in a wheelchair very easily and maybe he would have been back even sooner if he had the surgery as soon as he knew about the injury. His match with Austin is still one of my favourites of his. Although his Survivor Series 1997 match is even more highly thought of by me. I hope he continues to work well for many years to come.

HBK is indeed one of the all time greats to say the very least.  He possesses a lot of charisma and talent both in the ring and on the mic.  He is way "over" with the fans yet for some reason I enjoy booing him, despite the fact that I like him.

From Jim Ross Website...............

Quote Hey JR, In time do you think Shawn Michaels will recieve a similar type of respect as Ric Flair such as being recognized as the best of all time? I personally think that HBKs’ past may haunt him but I think HBKs’ past is "over rated"

I predict that when HBK’s time comes that he will get an even bigger "send off" than Ric, iffor no other reason Shawn is looked upon as a WWE creation. HBK deserves any accolades that come his way, for the record.

* HBK probably would get a bigger send off to Naitch because he's been loyal to WWE more than almost anyone else.

* I wouldn't call his past overated. Some of the bad things he's done haven't exactly been tame.

* It's a shame he's going the same way as Ric Flair in that we will remember his later career that's not as good as earlier stuff.

* It's sad to see Shawn with his broken down body doing less aerial moves.

Jim Ross Website: One of my ultimate idols in this business is the imcompreble Shawn Michaels.

But it seems that he isn’t used properly on RAW. There are too many top guys on RAW, so he can’t get a title run, and is constantly being put in feuds JUST to help other younger guys (with the exception of this Ric Flair one.)

So would it not be better for him to be moved to SmackDown where he could get a couple of title runs again, and even another classic feud with Taker, before he has to retire??

Leading into and including Wrestlemania it would seem to me that HBK is utilized very well and is one of the few talents who doesn’t need a title to be considered a major star. With that said, I don’t think we have seen the last of HBK holding gold some day. He’s an amazing talent.

yeah, with him wanting to retire soon, i would love to see a world or wwe title run in him. maybe have something simular to ric flair? have him win the title and then say if anyone can beat me for this belt, then i will retire from wrestling. it could lead to a fantastic wrestlemania match, where a major put over could happen. i would like to see him on smackdown too, maybe have michaels traded to smackdown because of the beating he gives to jericho (i have a feeling he is winning the fued) and then have edge drafted to raw because of all that happened with vickie. i think that will be win win.Clap but what ever happens, hbk has always been an in ring favorite of mine. his promos are usaully always the same crap but he is still good on the mic, and his night stealing matches are always great to see, weather he wins or not.

HBK is, was and will ever be one of the greatest of all time and I really hope he get´s a proper send off once he decides to call for his final bell. Also a last title run would be great, but even without that, I wish myself a really matching last match for the Showstopper. He has been and is still one of the greatest entertainers WWE has got, all around, mic and mat. He is also one of the few really big stars in WWE who are not afraid to put some young talent over, not afraid to job to some young and rising star, which is something I respect far more than continuous title reigns for god-knows-how long.
