So we got the final of the dusty classic this week but before i talk about that, id like to talk about these guys as a team in general.

They are a breath of fresh air.

Some of the promo work has been fantastic - their promo at Worlds Collide with all of the weed references (being blunt, smoking the opposition) and the comments referencing how Dunne looks angry all the time are ones to note.

They can both go in the ring and they are both super popular in the ring - this was a perfect pairing for them both IMO.

Their match against GYV in the final was fantastic and winning the tournament was ideal for them.

I can not wait to see these face the UE at TakeOver Portland

The weird thing is that when they first teamed up, Matt said, "To be honest, I really don't know Pete that well." Yet the first time they teamed; they had chemistry as if they had been teaming for years. I agree with #Heel they are a good pairing even though in the Dusty Classic I was rooting for Imperium. Both Matt and Pete have similar cavalier attitudes where they are just like "... whatever... cool." Plus obviously both are great athletes. Oh, and by the way, they do have a great team name. Tongue

That being said, I think Riddle is more valuable in singles competition.

Its a temporary role for them both while neither are in a major singles programme. Its fine though as it's a fun pairing and keeps them both as a important part of the show having great matches.

Riddle is money as a singles guy though and he is somebody I see eventually being a major star on Raw and Smackdown.

They are both major stars - the trouble is Riddle has a bad attitude and ruffles feathers with management and top talent. He got into big trouble for calling out Lesnar without prior approval and then proceeded to do it again the following week.

If he keeps his attitude up, hell just get buried like he did at the rumble

These are two guys that I think would struggle on Raw or SD. Can't imagine that Vince or Kevin Dunn would see either as money-makers. That's not to say that they aren't enjoyable. But I think the WWE old guard just wouldn't see the appeal of these guys.

The closest comparison I can make is when Ricochet & Aleister Black were paired up. Management knew they were hot talent but didn't "get" them. They saw a flippy guy and a goth.

I agree. Both of the Brosweweights are valuable in singles competition but this is just a temporary team up.

Aaaaand that's just one more reason why so many NXT stars who were not only successful but also respected in NXT get lost in the shuffle once they enter the WWE main roster, as there is a whole thread about. It's someone else doing the booking and they have largely different criteria for what a star should be.

WOW these guys were awesome this week

One of my favourite segments in recent memory

UE played their part with Kyle referring to them as Matt Riddel and Peter Doone

But Riddles: how much fish could bobby fish fry if bobby fish could fry fish  was epic and the crowd absolutely loved it

These guys have got great chemistry no matter how long they are together.

One thing i have thought about - last year, or the year before when Dunne got to the final of the Dusty cup Strong turned on him. This year, although currently part of the gimmick - Dunne has a darker more broody personality nd i would not be totally shocked if he ended up turning on Riddle during or after the match and setting up a feud between the 2 - weve yet to see Dunne as a heel and it would be a highly entertaining feud.

We shall see

Really enjoyed their segments this week - it was fun to watch their journey to Portland.

I have a feeling they make take the titles this weekend

Looks like this team will last a little longer than expected eh?

To be honest I'm cool with that, especially with so many factions in NXT at the moment. One needs allies. Plus we know down the road both of them will continue their singles careers.

Funny stuff this week, their chalk and cheese combo works really well, good to see Riddle getting more talk time too, he's a good promo and a entertaining character.

I think eventually Dunne will turn heel on Riddle but for now I'm fine with them having a run as a team.
