Quote Impact Wrestling's Knockouts division grew by one today.

The promotion announced via their official Twitter page this afternoon that Tess Blanchard has signed a long-term contract this week.

Check out the complete announcement below:

Not the first time they have announced a contract as long term, but not let on how long that means. Long term to them could be six months.

I don't mind her. She's a good heel who plays the entitled role because of her family background in the business, really well.

The downside for me is her old skool Chyna chin. It's really hard to not have attention drawn to it.

I kept hoping she would sign with NXT, I'd like to see her and Charlotte work together.

Just seen the match where she won the title at hard to kill.

How anyone watches that shit is  beyond me ...

Terrible matches
Awful production value
The crowd was one of the worst I've ever heard

It's a great piece of history for Tessa especially given what's going on with her at the moment about her attitude and racist comments she made but the event was so bad

Impact is as good as dead IMO

Yeah must admit I've watched a bit of Impact lately, there are a handful of watchable moments here and there but on the whole their product is amateurish with low rent production playing in dark and dingy arenas for very small crowds who seem to barely react to what is going on in the ring.

It's a shame to see what they've become as I was a fan of TNA back before all the heavy budget cuts and the company being rebranded by Anthem.

I was tempted to watch Hard to Kill to see the Cage vs RVD match but as Cage appears to have headed for the exit dont think I'll bother.

As for Tessa it's a great moment for her and I get why Impact would do it to get publicity by making history, but I'm not a fan of seeing the Women competing against the Men and especially not when a Woman is beating the Mens World champion.
To put it in context think about if WWE would book Becky Lynch to cleanly pin Brock Lesnar, wouldn't happen would it.

She refused to appear since the start of the pandemic and as a result was asked to do some promo stuff remotely - which she also failed to deliver on.

As a result she has been stripped of the title and released from the company

She's got a reputation as a racist, very unlikeable and hard to work with. I hope all major companies keep away from her.

Impact pushed her as their star and had her unrealistically beat men like Brian Cage and Sami Calihan and this is how she repays them.

When E didn't want her she had nowhere to go. She's come across very ungrateful and I hope her actions of the past few months aren't easily forgotten.

Interpersonal issues are one thing, but being unprofessional is inexcusable. AEW have a reputation such that it seems hard to believe even her dad will be able to get her a job there. If that's the case then she has just all but washed out of her career.

Sounds to me like she wanted out of Impact bad so much so that she was prepared to throw all professionalism out the window and sit out her deal until it expired or they released her.

In fairness she's not the first big name in wrestling to pull a stunt like this, Steve Austin, CM Punk and PAC just to name a few.

It is disappointing though considering how hard Impact pushed her, she arguably has had the best push of any female talent in the business, it's a shame it wasn't with a bigger promotion but Impact still got her on the map and many fans who don't watch Impact still know who she is.

Despite her clear attitude and professionalism issues I hope AEW sign her, hopefully her working for a bigger promotion alongside her Dad can get her attitude in check. The bottom line is AEW need her badly, the women's division is by far the weakest area of their product and they could build the division around a star like Tessa.

She's gotten a reputation as a racist. Tony Kahn will likely have her barred from even attending a show just like Hulk and Linda Hogan.

She's still the biggest female star in the business that isn't attached to WWE and AEW's women's division is the drizzling shits, plus her Dad is there. I think there's a strong chance that they sign her and maybe the whole reason she acted the way she did with Impact was to get her release so she could go to AEW?
