Paramount and Skydance are now preparing a TV series to accompany the reboot.

This is sounding very much like Agents of SHIELD. The TV series will "interlock" with what Paramount is expecting to be a trilogy of Terminator movies. Yeah, that's right--a trilogy of Terminator films are being discussed while the 1st hasn't even cast a single actor (aside from the semi-required Arnold.)

Also the talk is sounding more like the Star Trek reboot approach; via the use of time travel a Universe-B results.  Hence the first series of movies did happen in canon, but this is a new sandbox.

it was always something that did interest me. it left a lot of scope that I felt could have been done differently in T3, by having Connor, through the actions in T2, avoid his fate, but since the future can't be stopped, only delayed, then having a new Resistance leader bought into the mix.

this is better but runs the risk of being like the Psycho "remake", especially the same film frame for frame with different actors in the roles

Terminator Genysis was a great film, I especially liked the re-created scenes of the original Terminator movie and Arnie as a ageing T-800 was great fun.

Only real complaint was the ridiculously complicated plot which requires me watch the film again to fully understand. The box-office numbers were not as high as hoped so a sequel is not guaranteed, would be a shame if it doesn't happen as I'd like to see more from this modern day take on the Terminator franchise.
